Is it OK to go halves on a bottle of Cava or too cheapskatey?
My friend is having a party for another woman whom I have met twice. It';s her fiftieth birthday party. It's a proper party with DJs and a five pound donation to get in.
I don't know what to bring and I am really broke.
I'm going with another friend and she says go halves on a bottle of Cava. I say it's mean and we should go halves on champagne or buy two bottles of Cava.
I brought a special adults only cake. My friend bought a half decent wine.
The party was fab. There were about a hundred or more people there. As well as DJs and a light show there were acts including a really tasteful and very beautiful burlesque stripper.
I also think having a party and charging is off.If you can't afford it, don't have it. Or have something simpler.
Re gifts, I'm off to a significant birthday partry soon for someone quite well off. Some other women want me to club together to get her some sorft furnishings.
