I know lots of families with three boys but none with three girls - why is that?

(54 Posts)
When I say loads I mean about eight families with three boys. I know one with five girls, but no other families with more than two girls. How odd.

I don;t think there's anything odd about the laws of probability.

I had 3 girls first. I know more people with 3 boys than 3 girls too.
I have 3 girls and I am an indolent cow grin

Yes, pointy. Its that chance thing that makes it odd.

my sister (misdee) has 4 girls
Three of my work colleagues have 3 boys.
One woman has 3 girls, the youngest being twins.
one person has as girl and triplet boys!
At my dd's school there are 3 families I know with 3 boys.
But then again at work we have 3 families who come in who all have 4 girls.

A girl I was at school with was one of 3 girls, her and her sisters now have families of their own and they all had boys!
I had three girls then like buses two boys came along at once, yes twins

It is because, by chance, you happen to know families with three boys.
I have 1 boy and 3 girls grin

And my mum was 1 of 4 girls

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
