Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

Postal Strikes

(23 Posts)
Are they are any planned for next week?

I am getting a railcard for a trip we are doing next Friday and was wondering if it would be better to go to the station(2 bus rides away with 2 kids) or get it posted.

Thanks.
No I don't think they do. I've got the form all filled in and getting the awful passport size picture done today.

Though my brother thinks the travel agents can do them so will go there and ask this afternoon.

Blooming DH decided visitor oyster cards would be a good idea so ordered them online this morning. 2-3 working days delivery. If they don't come I will kill him.
I would, Kayzr.

although, don't they do a thing where you can book it online and print it out?
(not got much experience in online ticket ordering, but i know you can do it for national express, so i would assume the train would be the same)
At least it has been called off. Still going to the station though to be on the safe side.
obv i meant OH, not OP.

op's visiting his mum at the minute.
i'll send him a text

oh apparently they have been called off!
That's not good.
I'll be honest with you, my posties (and I mean posties, I have several different ones) and the people at the sorting office here are idiots, and TBH we wouldn't notice if there was a strike or not, as we can go a whole wek with no post to any house on our street! but I do appreciate how angry and frustrated you must feel.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
