Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

Most compulsive telly ever?

(161 Posts)
X Factor threads have got me thinking... when did you last feel fluttery waiting for a TV program to start, because you were so hooked in?

Last time for me was probably the last episode of Six Feet Under. I howled.

Pride and Prejudice on the BBC back in the mid-90s also a biggie.

Our Friends In The North.
Akiko as much as I love Dexter my pet hate is his wife! She is so annoying I find myself shouting at the telly! Books are ace too

Surprised that only one of you mentioned DEXTER! The books are also brilliant! Waiting to download every new episode that is currently airing in the USA.

For me The Wire is the best so far.
I also love Grand Designs.

Lie to Me sounds great
What channel is it on?
For me was definately prison break. I only discovered it a few months ago so had 4 series to download and watch. So was soo hard to limit myself to watching only 1 (ok often 2) episodes at a time when I knew I had sooo many left to watch.

Sadly finished watching last week..

I also enjoy
Lie to me
The Mentalist

which I have started to download to get my fix but not many behind so have to limit myself grin

NCIS and the new NCIS: LA series

Stargate SG1 and Atlantis

Medium

Criminal Minds

Fringe

I used to love "My Name Is Earl" but went off it a bit towards the end.

Has anyone mentioned Dawson's Creek? blush!

"old" unmissables were NYPD Blue, ER, West Wing, Brothers and Sisters, Cold Feet

Still loving
House, Greys, DH, and Flashforward is definitely getting better! Currently catching up on One Tree Hill from Season 1 blush

Can still remember the shock and tears when I watched the last episode of Cold Feet - had no idea what was coming and shrieked madly out loud. Also when Jimmy Schmits (sp?) died in NYPD Blue. And Dr Greene in ER...I get far too wrapped up in these things!

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
