"rent a god"

Yes but imagine the turf wars that would break out over competing and misleading advertising.

"Tried Jehovah and disappointed? Then Allah is the one for you."

I thought Lenin said 'I love the idea of leasing gods' That would be great wouldn't it? 'Rent a god' Supplying unconditional love and deep fulfilment at a franchise near you.

Yes you should do a PhD in Phil of Religion Threadie. Definitely.

(pats Wilf on the back in a manly supportive way).

I think there's a huge problem with trying to be a journalist and a Mumsnetter, not in terms of what-a-betrayal but in terms of who you attack in your day job being the same body of people who you seek support from in your internet meanderings. That is what frustrates me about said entitlement problem, I feel.

Yeah, Lenin, so have I. ESPECIALLY with laptops.

I love the idea of leasing goods and have seriously thought about wrt TVs and laptops.
Oh, this looks like a nice meaty discussion. Will read later <I know nothing of these things, except what I have learnt from atheists sociologists and philosophers, and um Father Ted>

And will this thread be my sanctuary from the 'culture of entitlement' nonsense thread that seems to have the whole of MN folded-armed, bosoms-propped going 'Oh, YEEEEESSSSS'.

It is driving me, and a very few other people -perhaps including you justabout? - slightly mad.

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]
For an angry face, , type [angry]
For an embarrassed face, , type [blush]
For a sad face, , type [sad] or :(
For an envious face, , type [envy]
For a sceptical face, , type [hmm]
For a no comment face, , type [biscuit]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
