Would you do me a favour? (you will need a tape measure)

I have been looking online at a hat pattern to crochet. It is a 20s style cloche hat so it is going to be pretty snug fitting. The pattern says it is for ages 13 and upwards but it is clearly a woman modelling the hat. The pattern also says the circumference of the hat is 21.5 inches though it stretches to 23 inches.

I measured my head. It is 28 inches! I measured dd's head (she is 14). She measures 27.5 inches.

So I was wondering if you would mind measuring your head - around the forehead please - as I can't tell whether dd and I have exceptionally large heads, or whether the pattern is completely out. Thanks!

Mines 21 inches but I do have a small head (my family call it a pea head).

Mine's 27 and my one yr olds is 19 but we both have big heads. I think the pattern is right.

Thanks! I think the pattern is right too. So now I need to work out how to enlarge it because I really want the hat!
