Will my feet go back to normal?

DD is 7 weeks old. My feet were badly swollen in third trimester of pregnancy and I lived in flip flops. The swelling has gone now but my feet appear to be about half a size to a size bigger. None of my lovely shoes and boots fit, waaaah. Will my feet go back to normal or does some of my maternity pay need to be squirreled away for winter boots and trainers? (I'm about a stone heavier than pre-pregnancy, if that makes a difference.)

I was told that for every pregnancy you gain a shoe size and lose a tooth. That's been spot on for me so far (currently brewing DC2) sad

My feet went up a size, and even when skinny, never went back. I didn't lose a tooth, though.

My feet grew 1/2 a size after 3 pregnancies. I was told it's to do with your cartilage softening in preparation for birth and the extra weight on your feet. They spread and never return back. sad

My feet went up half a size with each pg, I was a 5, I'm now a 6 after two babies. They're 12 and 8 now and no sign of dropping in size again.

My DD is 10 months and I've only just got back into my old shoes. Same after DS was born. I'm back to pre-pregnancy weight now so don't know if that made a difference. My feet didn't look fat!

The babies are 12 and 8 now, I don't have freakishly large odd feet, lol

Oh bollocks sad

DD is 13 months and I can only just fit into some of my shoes again, but not all of them. It was weird because it happened overnight!! One day I had my Birkenstock on a looser buckle hole, the next it was flapping all over the place and had to be done up again!!

Didn't happen with DC1 &2.

My feet did go back to their normal size, both times. All is not lost!

TheOriginalWinkly Mon 25-Aug-14 12:17:22

How long did it take LineRunner?

LineRunner Mon 25-Aug-14 12:22:33

A while. I had pre-eclampsia both times, so was quite swollen. About six months, I guess.

I am a size 7 so quite big feet anyway!

my feet are fine now and i couldn't wear anything but flip flops too xx

I guess I need to go out and get some interim shoes to join my interim clothes then confused

Mine went down a size after DD2 and I still have all my teeth grin

my jelly belly and bingo wings are another story

I went up a half shoe size with each pregnancy and lost one tooth in the first and had another crowned in the second.

Mine went up a size (this time I've bought wide fitting shows in preparation) but after a couple of months came back to normal.

Maybe you might be ok when the cooler weather comes in.

I went from a 6 to a 7 eight years ago with dc1. They have stayed a 7 ever since. hmm I've had 2 more babies since then and they didn't change during those pregnancies confused

LuckySaint Mon 25-Aug-14 13:27:25

I've gone up half a size. I gave away £££ of shoes sad

MassaAttack Mon 25-Aug-14 13:57:01

I think it took at least 8 years after having ds.

Reepits Mon 25-Aug-14 13:58:24

Not so, I lost a shoe size.
