Things that are popular that you just don't 'get' or actively dislike?

Sometimes I feel out of step with my contemporaries. Is it just me? My list of things that are popular that I just don't 'get' or actively dislike would include....

Homes and fashions:
- shabby chic in general
- Cath Kidston
- Joules
- Barbour jackets
- Jack Wills
- 'crafting' a la Kirstie Allsop
- (not especially wealthy) people who will only dress their children in Polarn O Pyret, Boden, JoJoMB, John Lewis etc

Other stuff:
- three day stag and hen dos in foreign lands, especially when people do the same as they would had they just gone to Blackpool or similar ie sit in a pub and drink
- extreme home baking, especially cakes made for adults covered in sweets, chocolate fingers and chocolates and programmes like Great British Bake Off
- cross fit
- going to 'the races'
- 'amaaaazing' being the answer to almost any question
- Hello / OK / similar magazines
- any and all TV talent shows
- (expensive) John Lewis in general. Yes, I know they price match, but you can't always find things they stock elsewhere, at least, not offline.

Loom bands.

Fed up of picking them out if the pile of my rug where they sink to the bottom. No one else bothers to pick the up.

Facebook -I never hear anything good come of it.
Celebrity Fashion Lines - How about letting the QUALIFIED designers who have worked hard have a shot? My friend is finding it hard atm grrrr

I cant think of any more, that's unusual as lots of things piss me off. Stupid good mood is affecting my ability to scorn....

50's dresses, with victory rolls and tattoos! All DH's female friends cut about like this, and go to burlesque classes. They bemoan me going to the gym and like cupcakes.

That look so many women seem to want at the moment with strange eyebrows and fake tans and big lips (I don't mean people can't look how they want, I just struggle to see how that particular look is flattering)

Genuine question, sezamcgregor, what is it about people not getting their kids christened? Just intrigued as in my area, and my age group, it's very much the rarity to get kids christened

totally agree with benedict cumberbatch - my dsis loves him but i just don't get it.

Also cupcakes - i always feel like they're a fuss about nothing!! I prefer a big old chunk of bread pudding or a brownie!!

Loom bands. Hate them all over the pavement, stuck in the cracks of the pavement, etc. We have three cats, who would eat the bleeding things. Fortunately DS has not asked for them, but I am counting the days until this fad is over.

Cupcakes with a tower of icing. Disgusting or what? I can barely tolerate sickly sweet icing at the best of times, but the mile-high icing I just don't understand.
