am on holiday this week and of course monday is a bank holiday. but stupidly ive only got 6 antidepressants left and next tuesday will be the earliest I can get some more. ive not taken one today and now have a headache but need to space them out! its not a high dosage but obviously enough to give me a withdrawal headache. should I try and take half a tablet?

I'm not sure...if it was me I'd stick with spacing them out.

Are you on holiday in the uk or abroad? What ad is it and what dose?

Ring your gp and ask for advise. It my be possible to send your prescription to a chemists local to you.

I'd space them out. What are you on?

If you can't get to a doctor but can get to a chemist some will let you have them without a prescription. They can often look at your records etc.

Worth a try.

Otherwise phone surgery and ask them to fax script to a pharmacy near where you are, they should be able to give you enough to tide you over.

When I was coming off them dr said to break them in half and take half a day to wean myself off could that work?

If not take half one day then a full one next day. if you call the Gp they should fax a script to a local chemist though.

Could you stagger them? So if you normally take them at 8am, take the next day's at 10am, then the one after that at 12noon and so on. This will make the supply you have last longer. Citalopram has a long half life so this should work, and will probably be better than halving tablets or skipping an odd day.

Pharmacies can do an emergency supply but will be very reluctant and may well refuse. If you are likely to get very anxious about it, the on call gp service is your best bet.
