Thank you You Tube, you just may have saved the day

My dad bought DD a loom band kit. Hours of entertainment he said. It's really easy her cousin had one round there the other day didn't hear a peep from her. Well, several hours later we had a lot of bands everywhere and a sulking 5 year old and me cursing instructions which have clearly lost something in translation. I have just learned how to do it using a video made by an 8 yr old American girl. Now all I have to do is teach DD.

Just last week we learned how to style her hair like Elsa for a Frozen party.

What's the best thing you've learned from You Tube?

I used it to learn how to sign basic words.
I work in a local shop and we have 3 regular customers who are deaf. I always wanted to learn sign language so have taught myself a few things with YouTube.

How to remove and replace a toilet in the bathroom.

I learnt how to use one of those hair donut things with you tube.
I tried so many times and my poor DD was getting frustrated.
She looked it up and hey presto.
So easy. Who would have thought.
I had to do it for her every day for about 2 weeks.
Now, nothing. These phases they go through eh!?

Loom bands grin
Darning, knitting and crocheting.
How to play the violin.
It's useful to remind me how to so the simple bits and pieces I can do but haven't for a while like rewiring a plug, I can do it, done it many times but not for a while. A quick YouTube reminded me of how to do it without blowing anything up grin
