Picture this: you've got a long journey in the car. You are by yourself (yay!). What cds do you sing along to at the top of your voice while whizzing down the motorway?

The original cast recording of the musical Avenue Q. Because there's a lot to be said for doing 70mph on the motorway with the window down on a sunny day and "singing" along very loudly with lyrics such as "Fuck you lady, that's what stairs are for!" and "The internet is for porn"

Failing that, the greatest hits of ELO.

I am so pleased with this - I had an old itrip but this works on my 5c and charges at the same time

Tonight I'm gonna have myself a real good time
I feel ali-i-i-i-ve
And the world it's turning inside out Yeah!
I'm floating around in ecstasy
So don't stop me now
Don't stop me
Cause I'm having a good time having a good time
I don't wanna stop at all...

My favourite is Blondie Parralel Lines but will happily torture Abba, the Bee Gees and Michael Jackson because you don't even need to remember them they just come automatically.

I agree about Fleetwood Mac's Rumours!

I recently purchased for a fiver from Asda "90"s Anthems" which are fantastic and I have been singing along to them of late. I am 37 and grew up dancing to all of these.

I also like the Prodigy piratecat while driving!

I have also rented CDs of talking books from the library which are lovely. Anything non child-friendly, whether it is music or books or even radio, is a treat when alone in the car! And I have a three hour journey on my own this Friday to look forward to, so looking forward to that.

Show tunes. Always show tunes.
Only in the car can you get the perfect combination of acoustics and over-confidence to really hit those big notes.

Failing that, something angsty. A good bit of 90's grungy rock. Always good to release some pent up rage at the injustices of your teenage years.

StillFrigginRexManningDay Mon 21-Jul-14 10:42:37

Bon Jovi greatest hits.
