What are your beach must haves?

After a successful impromptu trip to the seaside today alone with my four smalls, it's given me the confidence to think that day trips to the seaside could be a regular occurrence.

Despite living in a coastal area, we've not spent much time at the beach, but I'd like to rectify that.

So, with this in mind, tell me what things you need for a good day out at the seaside?

I read it on MN years ago and it works. Use it to get sand off without it feeling like your being rubbed with sandpaper plus it's fast too.

A damp flannel to rub hands. Even better than baby wipes. The wipes are fine for a while, but you can't beat the flannel for freshness when heading home.

P20 sun cream. Put it on naked before you dress/ leave the house. Sweatproof/ waterproof/ No missed bits. No having to reapply to sandy skin. Genius. Don't work for them, just a v happy customer.

Best buy was towelling robes/ponchos for us all. Throw them on when you head home and no changing at the beach, dry quickly and are warm. Small kids often get them but you can find bigger sizes - boden are naice but also beach supply shops or even my DS was off amazon!

<faints at the thought of 8 children on my own, four is hard enough work!>

Am actually really looking forward to taking them! I've not been brave enough to take trips out on my own with all of them before, but I'm slowly gaining confidence. And it's got to be good for them too smile
