sorry to shout - I am equally amazed, happy and terrified!

I got the job - I had my interview at midday and was offered the job at 5pm!

Piratejones Fri 06-Jun-14 18:39:21

Which job?

purplemurple1 Fri 06-Jun-14 18:40:36

Well done!

Lewisfan Fri 06-Jun-14 18:43:34

it's called Professional Assistant - basically a social worker assistant, with my own case load and working with families before they reach / have gone through Child Protection levels of intervention

I am terrified!! I love that side of Safeguarding and have wanted to do it for years...

Well done - those jobs are usually competitive. Oh and don't be terrified! In that field having a passion for the role is key, and it sounds like you have that.

ModreB Fri 06-Jun-14 18:49:09

Well done. thanks I work in a related field (For the next 2 weeks until I start my new job) and it is so rewarding.

NorbertDentressangle Fri 06-Jun-14 18:53:56

Well done!

That sounds a bit like a Family Support Worker - is it the same sort of thing/new job title for them?

WastingMyYoungYears Fri 06-Jun-14 18:55:00

Well done smile.

hugoagogo Fri 06-Jun-14 18:55:07

Hooray you! wine smile

Lewisfan Fri 06-Jun-14 18:57:04

Norbert, I'm already a FSW for SureStart, rather than Social Care and it's a very similar role, but I'd be "in charge" of the cases rather than just a member of a core group, for example.

I think I'll be helping assess and lead cases - not sure if SS FSWs did that?

it may well be a new name for an old job!

DuckandCat Fri 06-Jun-14 18:57:23

Do you have to have a social work degree to do that OP? Sorry to be nosy, just sounds really interesting!

Congratulations! smile

NorbertDentressangle Fri 06-Jun-14 19:00:35

It does sound similar to SS FSW roles (well, from what I remember when I did it).

Since I left they have restructured the service so many times in this region I've lost track TBH. The role and the title has probably changed many times.

It sounds like you'll be perfect for the role though. Well done again!

Lewisfan Fri 06-Jun-14 19:08:16

no, Duck - they say qualifications need to be "work with families and children" and things like that

DuckandCat Fri 06-Jun-14 19:10:08

Oh ok, thank you. Good luck in your new job! Xx

Kleptronic Fri 06-Jun-14 19:11:06
