£10 and something nice to eat, maybe Hotel Chocolat stuff.

I know it's boring for you to give cash- but it is for her afterall, and she won't find it boring!

cinema voucher My dd got a few on one of her birthdays she liked that

I know it sounds boring but niece was 15 last week & she was very happy with iTunes vouchers & high street vouchers & cold hard cash!!! She went off for the day shopping & lunching with friends to spend them.

yip teenage girls love money they just do

MaoamMuncher Sun 11-May-14 12:12:47

Money. They LOVE the stuff.

Give £15 and buy something edible with the fiver.

Please do not give a 14 year old stationery or a pen and pad! Most boring gift ever.

Vouchers all the way

Littleturkish Sun 11-May-14 12:53:27

A really nice pen and pad would make loads of 14 year old girls I know VERY happy!

Are you near a city? Could you pay for entry to somewhere cool to go to? Something like the walk over thing at the O2?

My DDs had their 14th today- iTunes voucher, money, nail varnish, earphones, a phone cover, if they have a tablet then a tablet case?

JRmumma Sun 11-May-14 13:15:32

Thanks all. I suppose we know her fairly well but I'm just a bit out of touch with teenagers and her likes seem to change quite often. I don't know what's 'cool' nowadays! I like the idea of the O2 walk but under 18s have to be accompanied by an adult so would have to book 2 tickets which makes it too pricey.

I don't want to give cash if i can help it but I'm getting the impression that it might be best!

Littleturkish Sun 11-May-14 16:39:45

How about two tickets to see a film at The Prince Charles Cinema?

Perfect for teens and v cheap.
