Like teabags. Whoever invented teabags should have got a bloody medal! I'm full of cold, DH is at work, the DS's are doing my head in excitable, and the idea of faffing about with loose leaves and a pot at this point gives me the shudders.

Are there any every-day inventions you couldn't live without?

Not so much now, but 4 years ago, cbeebies

The dishwasher. Thank god.

AntiDistinctlyMinty Sun 04-May-14 16:24:45

Ooh zips! Yes! And poppers on baby clothes.

I have enormous dishwasher envy Juniper envy

Another vote for the dishwasher, closely followed by the washing machine

AntiDistinctlyMinty Sun 04-May-14 16:28:01

I still very much need CBeebies Stealth - it's currently keeping DS1 reasonably still...

The dishwasher, washing machine and Evernote. The last one is an indulgence, but is so damn useful.

Hoovers. My carpets would be more neglected if they hadn't been invented.

JuanPotatoTwo Sun 04-May-14 16:36:26

Aya what's an Evernote?

wannabesedated Sun 04-May-14 16:37:28

Another vote for the dishwasher here!

Also for sliced bread. I grew up on homemade loaves and I feel like a traitor for buying plastic bread but it's like I lose control of my arms when I pick up a bread knife. Every slice I cut is lacy with holes, wedge-shaped or sometimes, impressively, both.

The Internet grin.

Yes, being more serious contraception!
Lol at your description of your slices of bread wannabe grin

The 3 best inventions of all time.

AntiDistinctlyMinty Sun 04-May-14 16:48:10

Aah, the internet...

SirChenjin I'd have to agree there. I'm a pharmacist and sometimes I wonder at how much we all take readily available medication for granted smile

CoteDAzur Sun 04-May-14 16:54:05

Dryer (clothes)
Chocolate smile

VestaRose Sun 04-May-14 16:56:37

Baby wipes!

SirChenjin Sun 04-May-14 16:58:04

So true anti - I think we tend to forget how many of us simply wouldn't be here if it weren't for the advances in medical science.

On a far more serious note - hair serum. I no longer have to look like Crystal Tipps.

Playmobil! smile

Thank you Hans Beck.

The advances in special care for prem babies

Or should just say Medicine as a whole?

AntiDistinctlyMinty Sun 04-May-14 18:18:06

I think medicine as a whole is one we can all agree on!

As is indoor plumbing grin

Onetwothreeoops Sun 04-May-14 18:25:03

Hair straighteners. Not essential perhaps but I couldn't imagine being without mine now!
