Inspired by the 'Irish' thread ....

When you say 'where to's x' instead of 'where is x'

Are you Welsh, are you?
Whose cup is that mug?
Whose coat is that jacket?
Whose fruit is that apple?

JuanPotatoTwo Mon 24-Feb-14 10:51:13

When you use the word 'couple' but don't necessarily mean only two.
When you describe yourself as 'being under the doctor'.
When seaweed is considered not only edible but nice.

missmartha Mon 24-Feb-14 10:56:36

When you tell you DC to 'come from over by there to over by 'ere before you do go home lost'.

hstar1995 Mon 24-Feb-14 11:07:00

When you use mun all the time 'come on mun' or 'that's stupid, mun'

When you have half and half with your curry!

When you travel miles for a Joe's icecream.

Wearing daps in school.

YY to a couple being a flexible number - this confused (English and very precise) DH for a long time.

Similarly, in a minute is a flexible time period which could actually be anywhere between one minute and several days (think Cornish dreckly works in a similar way).

Things being "by there" or "by here".

karmakoala Mon 24-Feb-14 11:10:32

Every time they sing 'bread of heaven' at the rugby and you suddenly get something in your eye.....

MrsHappyBee Mon 24-Feb-14 11:12:52

missmartha Mon 24-Feb-14 11:15:38

hstar1995, hi, I'm in Cardiff, but my mother was a Valleys girl and had a lovely line in talking tidy around the house.
