what psychological assessment would you make from these facebook status'

There is someone I knew at school on my facebook friends list. Every day he posts pictures of his wife that are vaguely inappropriate.

Pictures focusing on her breasts or bum. He then comments that she's hot. Or things like "ooh that ass". Or other sexual comments. Every single day there is another picture of her in revealing clothes and comments saying how hot she is. His profile picture is always of her too - not him. I even noticed today that another male friend has commented on her breasts too. He never puts anything about I love my wife - just how hot she is. One picture was her on a bed in practically lingerie.

My question is what psychological assessment would you make of this man and the relationship? Out of interest.

I would suspect that he's made her up & she doesn't really exist. & that he's a prick.

He needs external validation that his wife is attractive. Or his wife's ex is on Facebook and he's staking his claim! Or they are swingers. Or he's a knob. Potentially all of the above!

That he's a porn addict who isn't sure how to show his love for 'real' women no idea

He sees her as a possession, she is a status symbol for him. He values women on looks only, is sexist and immature with low self esteem.

They are both exhibitionists and using FB as part of their sex life.

Or his ex is on facebook and this is a crap attempt at making her feel bad.
I feel sorry for her that this is all he views her as.
Bellend.

My friend (who I love so am not being bitchy) used to paste pictures of ladies in their undies all over his school books, walls, etc.

Would go on about how hot certain women were.

He came out when he was about 20, although I had a hunch for ages and we actually fell out when I mentioned it.

Friends again now though!

grin

DP also has a friend who has a lovely wife and two children. However, his 'hobby room' has some proper pornographic posters up. Even DP who is quite open minded is a bit hmm at the guys choice of 'art'.

We both suspect he is also gay. Nothing I can put my finger on but just another 'hunch'.

confused

We could be wrong. But it comes under 'protesting too much'. I fancy grubby, hairy men but don't need to plaster my life with pictures of Russell Brand just to prove it.

She's definitely real. They got married a long time ago. She used to be sort of nice / average girl looking with Brown hair. She's now gone blonde and looks like she's had breast implants and is much thinner. She looks like a different person. He's not very nice looking at all.

He's an arse.
Not sure about the psychological background of the diagnosis, though.

Preciousbane Thu 23-Jan-14 09:26:06

That he is massively insecure and also a total prick that views her as a possession.

That she is like him attention seeking, hopefully a willing one and that these are done with her consent. Just vile really, all of it.

NinjaBunny Thu 23-Jan-14 09:42:11

He might just be really proud of her (in a slightly warped way).

Sometimes I post pictures of cakes/tarts I've made on Facebook because I'm chuffed they came out well.

I'd be a bit fecked of if DP posted pictures of my arse and tits on facebook though.

hmm

hiddenhome Thu 23-Jan-14 09:47:01

He can't get it up and he's feeling insecure, so needs to reassure himself that he's still 'da man' and all that.

wishinwaitinhopin Thu 23-Jan-14 09:50:10

I do wonder how she feels about it. Id feel really odd and embarrassed if my other half put any pics of me at all .

He's in the closet.

He's a misogynistic twat.
And insecure.
And has no idea about appropriate sharing on FB - but then a lot of people have none, so that should not be held just against him grin.

And yes, how does she feel about it? It makes me feel vaguely queasy about their relationship tbh.

Maybe for years she felt like a wallflower. Now she has revamped herself and is slim, blonde and busty. I call it the Courtney Stodden effect.

Suddenly they see themselves as sexy and alluring and don't want to hide their light under a bushel. Comments such as "Your hot", "wow look at your tits", are taken as compliments as previously they felt unsexy.

Don't put all the blame on the guy, she is a willing participant and is encouraging him to do this and is finding validation by appearing on facebook as being overly sexy when sadly, it's too obvious for the rest of us and comes across as being awkward and uncomfortable just like poor ol' Courtney Stodden who thinks she is the hottest woman on the planet!

I feel sorry for them, they feel inadequate inside and over compensate when they feel they look desirable.

Book the pair of them or suggest she becomes a glamour model.

wishinwaitinhopin Thu 23-Jan-14 10:11:24

At school he did act a bit like he was homosexual. I also heard from one of his exes that he used to be violent. I'm a bit worried for the woman to be honest.

SundaySimmons Thu 23-Jan-14 10:11:44

Block not book

See, that sounds more sinister, wishin sad.

Are you in contact with her at all? Do you know how she feels about it?

Vidaloca Thu 23-Jan-14 10:15:07

Oh please, put a link to this thread on his facebook page. Then block him.

<evil>

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis Thu 23-Jan-14 10:16:44

Isn't. Knobbishness a valid psychological assessment?
I too think he is out for validation. Wonder how much of her physical changes were instigated by him?
But still a knob.

MostWicked Thu 23-Jan-14 10:18:49

How he thinks he looks:
His male friends admire him and feel jealous, that he is a red blooded virile male who is getting plenty of hot action.

How he actually looks:
Like a wet tw@t who is probably a 10 second wonder.

wishinwaitinhopin Thu 23-Jan-14 10:20:20

Is she a willing participant though? Or does she have no choice....

Blimey I lead a sheltered life, all my newsfeed ever contains is pictures of dogs, kittens and people vaguely protesting about NHS cuts!
