I am completely mad; a house party for a 16th birthday!!
It will be a gigantic mess and they'll all be over the moon and it is SO worth it for them, though.
I'm still recovering. DTDs had their 16th two weeks ago, and because they have different friends, wanted two different house parties. And DS' 14th is coming up and he wants a house party too, that's in a week. And I'm probably going to be curled up in a corner, screaming.
The booze issue is a really tricky one. We are supplying soft drinks only and have specified no spirits at all on the invite. If their parents are happy to send them along with a bottle of wkd, cider etc then that's okay with us, but any sign of anyone having more than that and they are off home straight away, along with anyone who misbehaves!!! I do not approve and things were very different when I was younger but DH was a bit of a lad and seems to think that it will be fine.... ..
