Yes, I was parked illegally. Outside a shop - was literally in there for 3/4 mins, with DS in tow. Security guard in shop told me the traffic warden was at my car so I dropped the shopping, ran out, stuck DS in car seat and drove away.
Traffic warden was already typing on his machine. As I got in he said "you've got a ticket madam". I said "not till it's on my windscreen" and whizzed off. He definitely had not printed it and had nothing in his hand.
So, anyone know what will happen next?
I think it doesn't matter if it's attached to your car now (it used to be the rule).
If they've got your Reg Number they can find out your details.
Like those Smart Cars that rove around- they don't stop to attach tickets.
I guess you'll find out.
Anyone on MN admit to being a Traffic Warden/ Parking Enforcement Officer?

You'll get the ticket in the post.
Around here they take a photo of the number plate before they start writing a ticket so they have your details if you are to drive off.

The warden will have taken photos, you will get the ticket through your door.
You made the choice to park there and took the risk - who cares if it was only 3/4 minutes - you were parked illegally.

Yes you will get it in the post, they photograph the car now parked illegally.

Hopefully you will get it in the post. There was no need to be so rude to someone attempting to do their job.

I saw a car-park attendant taking photo's of a car recently, number-plate, ticked on window (I assume expired), wider shot that showed the front of the car with the plate and the position of the ticked on the window, and then lots of the interior.
I could understand the first three photo's but was confused by the interior shots. Why would they need random interior shots of seats and baby seat etc? Do people try to contest that the expired ticket was on their car and say it was someone else's? Do interior shots help prove the case?

Fake - inside shots needed because a lot of people would try claiming it must be somone who has cloned their number plate as they were miles away <produce dodgy witness here>

Calm down, I wasn't rude at all.
I thought it was the case that it didn't count unless it was on the windscreen. Pardon me for trying to avoid a huge fine.

avoid the huge fine by not parking illegally then!! It's not rocket science!
What you did was rude. You totally deserve the ticket.

Here's an idea - next time avoid 'a huge fine' by parking properly.

No-one's irate.
You were parked illegally.
To avoid a huge fine don't park illegally.

Inside shots are because people claim they had a ticket but it must have dropped onto the floor.

Yes, you'll get it in the post.
Was it a proper parking attendant? And we're you on the street and not in a private car park?

It's because of people like you, OP, that we need Traffic Wardens at all. If everyone didn't do what you did then TW's would be redundant wouldn't they?
You'll be getting a ticket. Which you could easily have avoided by not parking illegally. Whether or not you have a ticket on the windscreen is irrelevant since the parking attendant had completed the paperwork and will have taken pictures

Pardon me for trying to avoid a huge fine.
The time to avoid a huge fine was when you parked. You got caught. Tough.

Thank you SnotMe, that makes sense. I hadn't thought about number plate cloning.
