I'm feeling very down today, work is going badly, looks like the budget is going to cost me between £666 and £1866 a year in child care costs, i'm tired because my DS woke a lot in the night with a sore throat and I feel like a crap Mum for having to send him to nursery when really he wanted to stay at home and have a cuddly Mummy day. So can you all tell me your good news and happy things so I feel like there is some good in the world today? Maybe it will shift my black cloud a bit.

nobody has any good news? Maybe things are even worse than I thought.

I apparently saved £1.62 at Tescos compared to shopping at Asda Sainsburies or Morrisons.
They even gave me a ticket to frame

Will that do?

better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick DeWe Thanks

The two little ones I look after are playing together for a change. All peaceful instead of our usual constant arguing, squabbling, shouting, pushing..

I'm really enjoying today!

Hmmm. My DD told me earlier that I am "the loveliest mummy in this house". I think that's a compliment!

The daffs I bought at the supermarket yesterday have bloomed and are cheering up my hallway.

I sort of know how you feel.

Also in a black cloud mood and this grey weather isn't helping.

Fried my brand new £500 laptop yesterday. Scraped the car down a brick wall too.

Forgot an important work call I had booked in because I was settling DS2 into playgroup. Colleagues not pleased (understandably).

Need some good news or funny stories. Just feeling a bit shit really.

It sucks doesn't it.

I'm getting a puppy! He's only 5 weeks old and still has that lovely milky puppy breath smell.

He's got squat little bandy legs like small puppy have and walks along clumsily tripping over things. I can't wait until he's 8 weeks and we can bring him home smile

I'm exhausted and skint (seem termites not to dip into puppy fund that I've been saving for him) and I have decided that I really don't like my job or my colleagues but when I think of his little fluffy loveliness I get a warm fuzzy heart smile

thistlelicker Tue 19-Mar-13 13:49:13

What puppy are you getting?

My DS (16 months) is coming on in leas and bounds with his words this always cheers me up smile he now says baby and points at himself grin we now call the unborn baby 'other one baby' so he can still be baby -it's confusing but lovely.

MrsWolowitz Tue 19-Mar-13 13:51:22

He's a Heinz 57.

A little fluffy ball of cream curly hair and black beady eyes and a sniffy nose.

OnwardBound Tue 19-Mar-13 13:58:09

What's a Heinz 57 confused

OnwardBound Tue 19-Mar-13 13:58:59

Oh and congratulations by the way!

I got my university assignment score back & got 90% despite me writing it in the middle of a truly shit week that only another single parent to 3 monsters could appreciate. I really thought I'd messed it up.

Dumdeedumdeedum Tue 19-Mar-13 14:46:11

Well done mrsmindcontrol that's a really good mark, you should be very pleased with yourself!

The local paper says Daniel Craig (and Rachel) are househunting round here. This may not be real or tangible but it makes me smile.

haggisandneeps Tue 19-Mar-13 14:59:36

I've just won tickets to a ladies day complete with topless male waiters. Who's coming with me? grin
