So last night around 8pm I suddenly felt really fluey, shivering, sore neck, aching all over, couldn't swallow etc. Went to bed assuming I'd definitely be phoning in sick today.
Anyway, I've woken up and some of the symptoms have gone (shivering and back ache) and I don't feel as bad as I thought I would this morning. Now I don't know whether to try and dose up and battle on or whether to err on the side of caution and try and rest it off. I still have a sore throat, cough and headache but just feel less debilitated IYSWIM. Obviously there is the consideration of spreading this around but everyone else has already had it - lots of people have been off sick with this type of thing in the past couple of weeks.
I need to make a decision quickly as if I'm going in I need to leave by 7.15!
Wwyd?
Day off. You'll probably feel worse again once you are up and about and actually trying to function properly.

Get ready and see how you feel then. You'll probably be fine. Get well soon.
Do you think you can manage a full day?
If so, go in, if not, don't.
Only you really know how bad you feel.
Are you likely to be allowed home if you go in and then feel worse? That would influence my decision.
Last time I phoned in sick, I got told there was no cover and the deputy manager brought me round some lemsips. I sort of knew there was no cover, and at least I didn't lose a nigths pay.
Hmm yes I will be able to come home if I feel worse again, but it's an hour's drive there and back and don't really want to end up driving feeling as bad as I did last night. Going to make a cup of tea then decide.

Stay home, if you go out you might get worse and end up taking 2 or 3 days off.

stay home. If your sick record is good. If you've been off sick alot, then go in, let them see you unwell and get sent home.
Go in. Take some paracetamol

As long as you don't feel you could manage the day, stay off.
Better that than going in for a few hours infect everyone else, then have to drive home feeling rubbish as well.
Get well soon.

stay home recover, I hate when colleagues soldier on and end up passing viruses on to me.
Right I've decided, I'm staying at home - just sat in bed to bf DS and my head felt all heavy then I felt sick. Going to send DS off to nursery and have a day of recouperation.
Hope you are feeling better soon!!
