"ooh it must be them mushy peas"

I just walked through the lounge rubbing my tummy and then did a huge fart. I said to myself "Oh god I bet it was those mushy peas!" only to see DD (15) on the stairs with a look of disgust mixed with amusement on her face!

My mum used to do this. She has IBS, as do I although not as bad as her, and I remember her eating something vaguely farty only for her to be lifting off for the next 2 days! I swore I would never do that.

The shame blush

PS Roast lamb with creamed leeks, brocolli, cauliflower, carrots and mushy peas, probably explains the farts really.......

That dinner sounds yummy - well worth the post-prandial stench!

rubyrubyruby Sun 17-Mar-13 23:05:48

It was the leeks surely!

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen Sun 17-Mar-13 23:07:57

It's the lamb that does me.

SecretNutellaFix Sun 17-Mar-13 23:09:02

Cauliflower.

It's always the cauliflower.

It's an evil vegetable. Sitting there all white and pure and then it goes and makes you fart.

So we know for sure that it was the lamb, the leeks, the cauli and the peas (they always do it for me!) so only the carrots are fart free!

Its DEFFO the Cauli!

Bogeyface Sun 17-Mar-13 23:11:33

It was rather nice Euphemia and I found that cooking the lamb last night made it easier to carve today and then reheated in the steamer, it was lush!

This needs to stop soon, I just hurt my bum with one grin

fuel costs are going up, you could be sitting on a goldmine.

WindyBum - Have you thought about low carbing? It's supposed to be very good for IBS.

MammaTJ Mon 18-Mar-13 00:25:17

Why should the carrots get off scot free? I demand a retrial!! grin

ripsishere Mon 18-Mar-13 00:28:35

Not interested in a retrial, I'd like the dinner (minus the lamb).
We eat a lot of dahl, DD loves the fact that it makes her windy.

ripsishere Mon 18-Mar-13 00:29:26

Sorry, posted too soon. When the roti (parotha like flat bread) and dahl are on their way to our table, she always says 'here comes the fart juice'.

Never feed DH cauliflower, he turns it into swamp gas.
