Unborn child is small, DP has just said he reckons it might be to do with me not moving about as much this pregnancy, with DD I was quite active till I was basically huge and she popped out 8lb+
This pregnancy has been different in that for the past few weeks I have had pain in lower back, pelvis, tops of legs etc that is aggravated by walking long distances, but it's not like I don't move at all
Could there be any truth in this cause I felt terrible enough that it might be my fault the baby is small now I feel like a lazy feckless layabout....

With respect to your dp what a crock of shit
I was almost bed bound with both mine and they were huge babies.

agree with betty, my dsis was told her dd was small and she was born a healthy 8lb 9
Seconding DRB.
If anything it would be the other way around, surely?
But it's bollocks anyway.

He doesn't engage brain sometimes. He comes out with such
statements and is always 100 percent sure he is correct..

What rubbish. Have you told him how unsupportive he sounds?

I wanted to see if this was another of those statements.

That's what I was thinking, how does it make a difference how much I move? I feel like call him world's biggest twat today anyway but he is doing washing up and has took rubbish out (and I tidied our bedroom and contributed to the amount of black bags to go out - gotta love nesting!) and I will be cleaning the kitchen again when he has cleared all the build up

What? What? Is he kidding? For avoidance of doubt, he is 100% incorrect. And a twunt.
Tell him to knob off.

Yes, utter utter bollocks. What's more, they're often wrong on predicted sizes. I had growth scans towards the end and they kept predicting a 10lb + baby and were talking about taking me in early. Dd was 8lb 14. Not tiny but not the shopper they kept warning me about.

Has your DP recently downloaded a degree in obstetrics from the University of Hicksville?
He is wrong btw!

I kind of get where your DH is coming from. Your pregnancy related pain is a difficult concept for him to understand. He probably thinks that it is similar to a headache or somesuch and you should take some paracetemol and get on with it. I think you need to communicate the extent of your pain more effectively. Perhaps a sharp kick to his shins every time you experience pain would help him to understand the effects of your pain and its cumulative nature.
I am sure he would be grateful for the opportunity to share so fully in the experience of pregnancy.

I was told the opposite with DD, she was DC4 and I had zero chance to sit and rest and I was warned that I needed to rest more as she wasn't growing properly.

Utter bollocks. My dp didn't seem to get the concept of pgp until I came back from the dr/physio waving some leaflets. He then seemed to take it all a bit more seriously. Size of baby totally unrelated. You need to cut right down on activity to manage pgp rather than aggravate it.
ooh, yy to what Dione said
it's not his fault that he can't share your pain, but he can stop being an unsupportive whatsit and let you have a bloody rest.

I have mentioned it might be PGP but I don't know much about what it is etc so gave a pretty cack handed explanation which he kind of accepted but I do think he must think sometimes its a paracetomol job, I do take paracetamol for it but it will pick an area and work there and no where else, so legs will stop hurting for a short while but back will still feel twingey and painful

I really need to speak to the midwife about it
Tell him that the MN collective thinks it is due to his sperm being lazier & weaker this time round.

He's making it up. I went swimming every day up until 2 weeks before DS was born: 5lb 2oz. I had a nap every day up to and including the day I went into labour with DD: 8lb 1oz.
I am disabled and in pain all the time, so I'm pretty much either sitting in my wheelchair or sitting on the couch and my daughter was 9lbs at birth
