I really need to sort my life out <sigh> I've got weight to lose, flab to tone, a house to sort and a job to find.

At the moment, I'm 25 and dress like a sack of potatoes because I'm ashamed of my body. I've got about three stone to lose and a hideous relationship with food. I've also recently been diagnosed with PCOS and know that I could tackle both birds with one stone if I just stopped eating white sugar - yet I binge on it.

My house is a constant tip. It smells because of the dogs and I have no systems in plae to help me cope.

I currently have a job but it's highly likely I will lose it come the end of term and it is terrifying. I've always worked, since I was 14, and the prospect of very quickly not being able to pay my rent makes me feel sick.

So.

Today is a new beginning. I will Sort My Life Out grin

I may well create myself a colour coordinated time table after work tonight, but I will also post here daily in an effort to shame myself in to behaving.

This morning I have -
Showered (a normal occurrence)
Done some arm exercises with tins of dog food while te dog toileted herself (new endeavour)
Dried my hair halfway (normal)
Used the special prescription hair cream specially for yetis like me, as prescribed by doctor (new)
Used moisturiser on arms and legs (new)
Moisturised face (normal)
Put lenses in and make up on (need to improve make up routine)
Styled hair with babyliss (relatively new)
Got dressed.

I will also make the bed before I leave, brush y teeth and hopefully have time to put the washing out.

<waves pompoms>

Even if you don't manage every step every day, if you can do a couple of them, you'll still feel as if you've achieved something!

Need to sort my life out too so just marking my placesmile so far this morning I have been for a 20 min walk. Time now to wash my hair and get ready for work.

whatkungfuthat Wed 13-Mar-13 07:57:14

Marking my place. I need to be more organised with the house and with studying, and not be the mum that forgets things like mufti day etc. without constant reminding blush

Have you looked at Flylady? I find it a bit much but there are some useful tips to help you sort your life out. The main thing I got from it was something about blitzing jobs in 15 minute slots so you achieve something but don't feel overwhelmed.

FadingAwayToAHippo Wed 13-Mar-13 08:03:09

Also marking my place. I'm still in bed but I have tonsillitis. Once I'm better I need to start getting healthy, lose some weight, eat less, move more. I need to finish things I start and also get a handle on my finances!

Well done for taking positives steps! smile

Good on you for taking this on. I also need to do a lot to "sort my life out". I am doing one thing at a time so I don't feel like a failure if it doesn't work out!

MrsPennyapple Wed 13-Mar-13 08:23:49

Well done on getting started, you sound really motivated. I second the flylady 15 minute technique, you can get a surprising amount done in that time.

I also need to bath the dogs, they are getting fragrant. I wash their bedding with white vinegar, it totally gets rid of dog-smell and the room definitely smells better.

TwllBach Wed 13-Mar-13 08:27:24

I can't get to grips with the fly lady thing - but I like the idea of little thins, so I'm going to base it on that.

I also like the idea of making the most of empty time as much as possible, hence the arm exercises while the dog wees. Normally I slump on a chair while she goes, but I might as well try and shift some of the flab off my arms while I wait grin

Am at work now, praying this sleet will turn into snow and the kids sent home! Obviously I would use the rest f the day productively...

Place-marking because I'm in a rush, but I'm 27 with very little to show for my life so far.. I need this to change.

What about the HomeRoutines app, and getting on to the latest getting organised/housekeeping thread (I've linked to two other threads on there with loads of hints and tips on)?

Hi can I join you OP!

I need to lose about 3 stone. I REALLY need to lose about 3 stone. My mum died at 42 from heart disease caused by being severely overweight and she had her fist heart attack at 30. I AM 30 THIS YEAR and already on tablets for high blood pressure. I am no where near as large as she was but the point remains. I really want to stay healthy.

My house is "ok" basic routines are there but I could do with being more organized in things like sorting cupboards etc - my house looks fine but watch out if you try to look in a drawer!.

Today I aired out my matress which I know your supposed to do all the time but uh I normally just get the changing the beds done as quickly as possible.

I also had half a bagel with fruit instead of a whole with uh nutella grin.

havingamadmoment Wed 13-Mar-13 09:25:22

I have to say though people who say "replace sweet treats with fruit it will get rid of the cravings" are crazy. Fruit does not equal tasty snack to me ! but i guess I just have to get used to it.

FolkGirl Wed 13-Mar-13 09:29:12

I'm sorting my life out. I made the decision around the end of January after losing 2 stone last year and separating from my husband at the end of the year.

So far I've organised my filing box, taken my stbxh's name off bills/car insurance/etc, lost another 1/2 stone, sorted out my wardrobe, got a new job and painted the kitchen.

What I found is that once I'd started the lethargy I'd previously felt disappeared and I wanted to do more. I feel like a big broom has come through and swept out the crap. It's great.

Good luck. You can do it!

Flisspaps Wed 13-Mar-13 09:38:41

Links to the threads I mentioned before, that should keep you from actually getting anything done for the next 48 hours grin

targaryen24 Wed 13-Mar-13 09:48:56

Joining too grin

Need to:
Loose 2 stone
Attempt a horrific looking essay plan
Clean my bathroom (with bleach etc...not the half arsed anti-bac wipe jobby I've done for the past 2 weeks, eew)
Leave the house

obrigada Wed 13-Mar-13 09:57:28

Inspirational post FolkGirl, loving "big broom has come through and swept out the crap"smile

FolkGirl Wed 13-Mar-13 11:14:34

Thanks obrigada. That really is how it feels. None of the stuff that was dragging me down before is here anymore - the only thing stopping me from doing stuff now is, well, me. And from now on, I'm going to be on my side.

OP, it really is doing and sticking with. smile

FolkGirl Wed 13-Mar-13 11:14:46

*worth doing and sticking with.

TwllBach Wed 13-Mar-13 11:29:16

FolkGirl yes that's what I feel like I need! A big old broom, and someone to open the shutters in my mind to clear out the cobwebs and let the sunshine in.

You're right to mention the lethargy - so often the weekend comes around and I think "I'll just sit and watch this" and then I've entered a cycle of inactivity that lasts until Sunday when I need to plan my next weeks lessons and therefore "don't have time" to do anything else!

Where do I get this app mentioned above? What do I have to search for?

I was on one of those threads at the beginning, but let it slide blush I introduced and have continued with the knicker and sock drawer thing though, and it really does make me smile every time I open either drawer grin

TwllBach Wed 13-Mar-13 11:30:34

"and from now on I'm going to be on my side"

Love this.

TwllBach Wed 13-Mar-13 17:40:26

Havingamadmoment how do you air a mattress? Is this another of those things that I should know but don't? <frets>

wewereherefirst I feel very similar - that I've got nothing to show for my life so far and it's beginning to grate/make me feel a bit upset. I had goals that I should have reached by now and they're are no closer than me walking on the moon.

Flisspaps Wed 13-Mar-13 17:50:24

TwllBach it's called HomeRoutines - best 69p I've spent!

TwllBach Wed 13-Mar-13 18:01:06

It's gone up to £2.99!

<gasps>

I'd like to get in on this if you'll have me...I posted last night about being fed up with my lack of life, maybe having some people to laugh with along the way will help grin

I need to get a job, I hate not working. I need to lose at least another stone - I've got rid of one since October. I also need to find some friends and get a social life!
