... Went straight to the drinks fridge and demanded a fruit shoot!!
He's had only one ever before!

So?! A fruit shoot really isn't going to kill him. My DS had them every week and he hasn't turned into a fat, sugar loaded lump (plays loads of sport).
I'd be having more issues with the 'demanded' part of your post, actually, if it were me. If mine ever demanded, he sure as hell didn't get.
They are pretty grim though
DD1 used to have fruit shoot with her McDonalds
I agree about the demanding. Anything that is demanded in this house is an automatic no.

Come on Gobbin! Surely the light hearted tone was clear? I'm not upset really. And "demanded" was used for affect!

Whats wrong with fruit shoots?
My dd has them in moderation and far better than sugar free drinks that contain aspartame

My two (8 and 10):
Drink coke and tango a couple of times per week, eat pizza from the village pizza van once per week, enjoy burgers and chips when we're out for a meal, tuck into a MacDonalds perhaps once per fortnight and love Burger King (as well as home cooked food and fruit and vegetables). They are both sporty, healthy and fit and dd has just one a sports scholarship to a local private school
Don't sweat the small stuff

I don't get what the big deal is? As you said, he's only ever had one before so another isn't going to cause huge damage.

That's a joke? Where's the punchline? (scratches head in bemusement)
Ah. A joke.
Costa are shit though.

Well, I'm appalled and horrified and shocked and disgusted OP.
How old is he, and is there time to undo the dreadful harm he has incurred by tasting such vile substances?
He needs a week of detoxing with organic prune and broccoli juice.
Were there any....witnesses?
Eliminate them.
FGS where have you all been? Fruit Shoots are a classic MN item of ridicule, along with Greggs sausage rolls.
Oh op. I get what you were aiming for.
Just remember this is viper central. Imagine if you'd posted on aibu?
Also for the record dd doesn't get these, or Capri sun etc. she has squash or fruit juice, watered down every so often, but it's the marketing g at kids I don't get. Do they need to drink different thi gs to adults? I hate that.

Sorry Pag, even for a joke, misspelling is a step too far.
I just can't do it.

DS is living on sausage rolls.
Bloody teenagers.
Just when all the news is full of PROCESSED MEAT GIVES YOU HEART DISEASE AND CANCER.
You should see DS in Frankie and Bennies.
He's very good at getting his order in.
Luckily the staff are understanding.

OP, my DD did exactly the same today. It was also Costa.
She did 'demand'. She's 3.6. She demands or commands permanently. She didn't get one. She got water (with a straw!).

It was sunny D in my day <wistful>
Ha! Yes pony me too.
All the people turning orange!
More to the point, what's a 'pizza van' and how do I get one? It sounds like an awesome idea!
