Thanks so much everyone I feel so much better.

I really hope things get sorted and the baby can get the care she needs and deserves.

Its so hard to just stand by and watch child neglect happen I don't know how some people live with themselves

It's completely confidential (I have reported on a v scary family and believe me there would have been comeback if they'd found out!).

Well done, you have done the right thing.

NippyDrips Thu 07-Mar-13 13:41:51

They can't play your call back, its confidential, don't worry you did the right thing.

GirlOutNumbered Thu 07-Mar-13 13:39:11

Of course you did the right thing and that baby is in immediate danger if she is taking drugs.

targaryen24 Thu 07-Mar-13 13:36:51

It's always confidential. Don't worry!

For some reason I'm thinking they will play back my call to her? A friend told me that is definitely not allowed

Definitely done the right thing. I made a call to SS last year, no regrets!

NippyDrips Thu 07-Mar-13 13:03:52

You did the right thing but don't get your hopes up. I was in your situation once, agonised for ages before making the call, social services arranged a visit with the mum in question giving her chance to be prepared, then took no further action.

everlong Thu 07-Mar-13 13:00:45

Ok that's good.

Let's hope SS can give her some help and support.

FakePlasticLobsters Thu 07-Mar-13 12:59:55

You did the right thing. That baby needs someone to speak up for her and in the long run you will be glad that it was you.

You've done the right thing.

grassalwayslooksgreener Thu 07-Mar-13 12:57:58

Thanks everyone.

I doubt she has access to this site she's more interested in where her next hit is coming from.

I don't think the child is in immediate danger, I just thought its best to do it sooner rather than later before somethin awful happens.

My mind is put at rest, thank you.

You did the right thing! What choice did u have! Please don't feel guilty u had to do it!!

everlong Thu 07-Mar-13 12:54:38

Yes, of course.

Good on you. Is the baby in immediate danger?

wrongsideoftheroad Thu 07-Mar-13 12:54:03

Yes you have but you probably shouldn't be pointing out that you're her friend who lives on the same road as this is a public site and she or someone else might see this and work out it was you.

Andro Thu 07-Mar-13 12:53:02

Yes, you have!

You were worried about the safety of a child. You have done the right thing.

grassalwayslooksgreener Thu 07-Mar-13 12:49:29

Have name changed.

I've just called SS about an ex friend of mine neglecting her 11wo dd and taking drugs around her constantly.

She always has men coming all hours of the night and never seems to go to sleep. (We live on same road)

I'm crapping myself incase she finds out it was me I have the safety of my DC to think about but I'm so worried about her baby.

Have I done the right thing?
