I have said this on another thread and I know I am not alone.

I think he is strangely attractive. And a lovely deep posh voice and seems very clever and witty.

It's on the Twitter link, I'm not stalking the woman! Someone has already helpfully pointed out the MN meaning.

Speaking of stalking, do we need to stage an intervention Elsies? grin

<grabs overnight bag, spare set of car keys and heads for CP>

anyone know which one PM me grin

patsky - you're going to Centre Parcs???
You do know that has a totally different meaning on Mumsnet, don't you?

teatrolley Sat 09-Mar-13 14:56:03

I saw from the link that you're going to CentreParcs. Enjoy grin

patsky is one lucky lady smile

I really like to watch Jay Rayner, I don't fancy him, I just like him.
He looks very much like his mother, even has the same mannerisms.

Oh, it's not anywho is it? It's anyhoo.
Bugger, I am not even down with the kids from 14 years ago. No wonder I was banished, I am just not cool enough.

OMG I think MN Towers are trying to kibosh the Rayner-love. Are they haterz or did they just want to monopolise the lovely Mrs R? Yes indeed, they only went and BANNED ME, just as patsky was on the thread. (It was either that, or they objected to my pondering whether the DM had outed Sir Cliff - I tried to start a thread musing exactly that, and I was bounced off. sad)

Anywho, they have said that it was a genuine mistake, so I am allowed back to play. But now patsky has gone.

patsky, if you are still reading this - I LOVE that you came on to play. You are a terrific sport, and you are indeed a lucky lady, married to a lovely, talented and witty man!

GetOrf Thu 07-Mar-13 18:07:15

I really love that comment from Claire Rayner re NHS.

I do hope that that's really his wife grin

He has such a great turn of phrase, I said on the other thread, dd and I roared when he said on masterchef profs about a terrible pudding 'this is like something served at a suburban wedding filled with regret' or something. Very witty.

Very very weird to have the object of a MN Crush Of Shame thread interacting with us live confused

JR once walked off with the last portion of salted caramel ice cream from Brixton Village when I rather wanted one myself, so I'm still slightly bitter, OTOH I think he's responsible for the gelateria stocking salted caramel in the first place, so he's forgiven.

On the fence - 5 years ago it would have been a straightforward "Nooooooo", but recently... He's kind of joli-laid isn't he? hee hee at writing this knowing he's reading I assume it's down to me getting older and less choosy Actually, I can pinpoint it to 2 events:
1. writing that the chocolate brioche from Aldi was "filthy" (it is) and;
2. his mum's last words about protecting the NHS. His mum was ace.

Badvoc Thu 07-Mar-13 17:44:03

Oooohhh...no.
Slap a dress on him and he looks just like his late mother!

BestIsWest Thu 07-Mar-13 17:42:29

Oh my god I thought it was just me! I have a special fantasy about him coming to visit...

GetOrf Thu 07-Mar-13 17:01:10

I like him even mroe after reading that twitter feed and that fact he rather enjoys being objectified by us lot. grin

<worships>

GetOrf Thu 07-Mar-13 16:29:01

Oh my christ this is hilarious. I love the twitter stuff. He he the real affirmed Jay in twitter then? <Suspicious>

God I am half tempted to join twitter so I can voice my approval to the man himself.

Why does Jay review Cheltenham restaurants a lot I wonder. I always entertain myself with thoughts that I will bump into him there one day, sad cow that I am. God knows there's bugger all in cHeltenham.

PERHAPS HE IS PLANNING TO MOVE HERE

Sara157 Thu 07-Mar-13 16:22:53

You have to love the internet. In the good old days you could have a crush on someone on TV all by yourself...now you get to share, discuss fantasies, and communicate it all to the man in question and his wife! Fantastic.

Haberdashery Thu 07-Mar-13 14:30:39

Haha! I'm not going to say what I was going to say now.

SirEdmundFrillary Thu 07-Mar-13 14:29:23

No.Too much meat.

Poledra Thu 07-Mar-13 14:27:15

Looks like Jay's enjoying this... https://twitter.com/jayrayner1 <arf>

patsky Thu 07-Mar-13 14:23:31

Don't worry, not offended at all. Would be a dull old world if we all had the same tastes. To say nothing of bloody. Can you imagine the fights?

ArcticRoll Thu 07-Mar-13 14:17:47

patksi-didn't realise that you were on thread-don't want to offend!-just meant that he is one of those blokes that improve with age whilst I look far worse than my Leeds days!

patsky Thu 07-Mar-13 14:13:21

Oh, ArticRoll, not enen taken by the sleek flat top?

ArcticRoll Thu 07-Mar-13 14:11:10

I knew him at university- didn't think he was at all fanciable then-think he's definitely improved with age.
