MIL texted to see if I'd like her to bring a new mop and bucket and some bleach with her when she come for a visit.
yes really.
So I said no I didn't need any of them. and anyway I don't use bleach on the floor.
She then said (and I felt like saying "change the record) that my kitchen floor is unhygeinic as I don't use bleach on it.
So, I wondered what everyone else uses

I just use anti bac floor wipes. It's a small bathroom though. Hardly ever clean the floor tbh!

Dettol floor wipes for the bathroom. Have a steam mop for the kitchen so no chemicals at all!

I use mop, bucket & flash multi purpose liquid & not water.
Bleach makes the place smell like a public loo/swimming pool. And would risk bleaching bits of the carpet & my socks!
The wood floors get method almond floor straight to floor stuff and a microfibre flat mop. It smells so good even I do that

Anti bacterial spray. Same stuff I use to clean the rest of the bathroom.

Flash. Or floor wipes if it's a small area.
Bleach isn't a cleaner - it might kill bugs but it won't effectively break down dirt/grease etc.

I can't use anti-bac stuff, most of them set off my asthma.
, the zoflora stuff is ok, which is what I often use, or flash liquid, but according to MIL that doesn't make it clean enough--but she is a bit OCD about cleaning--

yy to washing up liquid too, sometimes I think you could clean any / everything with it
have never used bleach on the floor. Don't see the need. And what if I stepped in it before it was dry and then walked on the carpet, would it not leave a big bleachy footprint?
Your MIL sounds like mine - she is always buying me anti bacterial this and antibacterial that. My house is very clean thanks, but clean with hot soapy water and steam mop. Don't feel the need for all this antibacterial stuff.
Boiling water, bleach, fairy liquid and detergent on the kitchen floor....just a cflorr cleaning wipe on the kitchen floor.
I use bleach, Milton or disinfectant and a steam cleaner

Floor wipes. On hands and knees.
Is it necessary to bleach or disinfect the floor? Are we eating our dinner off it or something.
I think bleach is a mum thing. I only ever use bleach to - well bleach stuff!
I use disinfectant or floor cleaner on the floor.
When my mum has been in my house unsupervised
I find god knows what covered in bleach - loo seats, washing up sponges, you name it....

Boiling water and a splaah of thin cheap bleach as most of the flat is tiled
( sounds posh its not its the basic flooring in a counicl flat ) I do the bathroom hall kitchen and stairs and the tiny bit where the front door is.
( the flat is above shops so u walk in off street have a small hallway that is squareish then stairs to flat) after that I throw water outside onto the balancony then give it a scrub.

I hate bleach. It stinks, and not sure what it's for.
