I'm struggling a bit. Manshapes in hospital, and i'm sat on the sofa with DS3 whos wide awake and screaming. His melatonin has worn off - we got a whole hour and 25mins sleep tonight, JOY!!! He can't understand where daddy is, and daddy is a crucial part of his nighttime routine, so hence it's out the window, and this is him awake now, for the day.

I have him screaming on one side, and DD2 feeding at the other. I'm a bit tired sad

I am up watching a film and feeling sicky hungover blush
I woke up to a photo of my boobs on Facebook this morning blush thankfully wearing a bra

deemented Sun 03-Mar-13 00:27:29

I'll be back in a bit. Apparently he needs to sit on the stairs.

Rumours Sun 03-Mar-13 00:32:26

I'm awake, ds's melatonin has worn off too. He's awake though because he's got a temp and is feeling grotty.

KrissieJules Sun 03-Mar-13 00:34:10

Melatonin?

KrissieJules Sun 03-Mar-13 00:36:27

I wasn't even aware those sorts of things existed! Why didnt I hear of these 5months ago???
DD is asleep - But I'm up answering my phone and listening to perverts :/ you wanna do wahhh? OH is working till 7am.

I hate being alone at night - every noise freaks me out!

Oh deemented you must be beyond knackered.

Can you put DS3 in with you to get some sleep? The thought of him having 1hr 25 mins sleep then being up awake for the day sounds horrendous. Is he one of those (adorable) children that have a catnap which gives them just enough to keep going until they get as cranky as hell?

How is Manshape? I read your previous post about the cellulitus leg, last I read he;d been admitted properly rather than daily IV.
Hope he's getting improvement to his leg .

Is your DS still on the stairs?

Virtual brew (no wine if you're BF. You don't want your DD with a hangover shock )

Goldmandra Sun 03-Mar-13 00:41:28

deemented have you tried Circadin? It's slow release Melatonin and made a big difference to DD2 when we switched.

PopeBenedictsP45 Sun 03-Mar-13 00:47:51

Oh no, sorry to hear this. It's dreadful when you're this tired and you can't see ahead to a time when you won't be tired!

He sounds like the Terminator, hope you manage to get him down soon.

deemented Sun 03-Mar-13 01:04:06

He's awake properly for good. Usually we get from 11pm - 2am, but Manshape not being here has thrown him out completely. Last night wasn't too bad, he was content to just sit and watch infomercials. Tonight though, hes really aggitated, won't even settle with the weighted blanket he has. Goldmandra - not heard of that bt i'll ask about it at his next review, thank you. He doesn't catnap at all. Just carries on and on and on.

He's currently sat on his playmat rocking and screaming intermittently for daddy. Baby's awake now too and im worried the others will wake up as well.

deemented Sun 03-Mar-13 03:13:56

It's a loooooong night.

Turnipsoup Sun 03-Mar-13 03:21:46

I'm awake, I'm working definitely not MNing

Sorry to hear you are having such a rough night deemented how is DS3 now?

Spoonful Sun 03-Mar-13 03:22:26

I am just about to try sleep again but thought I would pop on to say good luck. You must be very tired.

All these spam threads will be stopping people from seeing your thread. sad

Nonky Sun 03-Mar-13 03:25:35

Poor you :-( I'm awake as my ds age 3 and I are throwing up. Have been since 7pm. At least I understand what's going on poor little thing. Can I ask what melatonin is? My son used to cat nap and never sleep when he was a baby. I feel for you, the pain of exhaustion is like no other!

IsThatTrue Sun 03-Mar-13 03:27:35

Sounds like an awful night OP

Are there any little things (sweets/choc/DVD/etc) that can calm him for a while. Do whatever it takes to get some peace for a little while.

Tincletoes Sun 03-Mar-13 03:44:31

How old is he OP?

Bumping this past all the spam threads...

Turnipsoup Sun 03-Mar-13 03:50:08

I'm bumping too.

Nonky Melatonin is the hormone which basically tells our body it is time to sleep. (I hope I've got that right)
In the UK it is prescription only.... I only know about it as I work with kids who have SN. As far as I know it is only prescribed to people who have extreme sleeping issues.

singaporeswing Sun 03-Mar-13 03:50:12

What is going on with all the spam threads tonight?!

KD0706 Sun 03-Mar-13 03:56:16

Oh that sounds awful deemented

I saw your thread about your manshape going into hosp.

I hope you've got some rl support.

I have been up for an hour with dd2 but hope to be off to sleep soon.

Will stop whine ing about DDs nocturnal habits, sounds like you have it much worse than me. *

KD0706 Sun 03-Mar-13 03:58:13

singapore the spam is the reason I've not spent the past hour MNing. I can't find the proper threads in amongst all the nonsense.

There should be a hotline we can phone to raise mn towers from their beds. grin Like the bat phone

coppertop Sun 03-Mar-13 04:09:13

Bumping this up through the spam.

Hope you're okay, deemented.

Sirzy Sun 03-Mar-13 04:33:47

Oh no, I wish there was something I could say which would help.

Has he been able to go in to see his dad?

OmiQueenofTypose Sun 03-Mar-13 04:39:26

I hope that you're getting some rest, deemented. I'm up with ds who is having a period of crappy sleep. I'm not sure at what point we'd go seek melatonin, but it's something I'm beginning to think about (ds has sn).

OmiQueenofTypose Sun 03-Mar-13 04:40:12

Oh, and I meant to say that I hope that manshape is better and home soon.

sashh Sun 03-Mar-13 05:31:41

Hope manshape is better soon.

No ideas for now but could manshape record something for ds? on a dictaphone/camera phone or would that make ds3 worse?

I'll be here for the next couple of hours if you are still up
