Words fail me.
My life is a new kind of hell.
Lose the DVD. It's the only way.
Is this on tv? What channel so I can avoid it?
I am really trying not to think of the wiggles song, but I need to say that my ds's teacher reminds me of one of the wiggles, now I need to hide this thread and do some kind of mind wipe to forget them again!
If this was netmums I would have a ticker saying how long it is I have been in recovery since the wiggles stage had passed.
I actually quite liked the Wiggles, when all three of mine used to dance along. The early ones were very unsophisticated, with just the four of them in their slacks and different coloured jumpers.
I saw a dvd of theirs in a friend's house about five years ago and was very disappointed by how complicated it had all become - costumes, and props and very elaborate routines. They were at their best
before they were "famous".
I also feel sad when I see Steve Irwin's stuff.
Pseudo Thankfully it a a DVD from the library which will NEVER be borrowed again. No idea if it actually on the TV - if it is I will avoid it like the plague.
Fruit salad, yummy yummy is always in my head. It's eating away at my mind, but the children love it!
They're the biggest grossing music act from Australia
I think it is the grinning and nodding that I just find.....erm ....creepy.
You mean there's something more annoying than Baby Jake? <shudder>
Their teeth are quite spectacularly "ting"-y white too! I remember when I first saw them I was quite captivated by how sinister they seemed with their manic grins
Then there's Wiggle Drama when Sam got booted out last year for Greg to return, and Sam has been quite discrete considering he got totally screwed over. Did not do their public image much good!
Having said that, I quite like them. There are far, far, FAR worse children's things on TV that irritated me far more. The children would tire themselves out dancing to Wiggles stuff and whether I liked the songs or not, some were quite catchy. And some of the songs are quite educational albeit obscure e.g. a recent one about allergies, or suncream or whatever! Far better than sodding One Dimension which is what I have to put up with these days.
We've been to see them twice and the children absolutely adored it. Somehow we had the luck to meet Greg and Murray backstage last year as we left at the same time they did as we'd been faffing about, and we got photos and a brief chat - they were both extremely patient and interested and in return I did not mention Sam
Greg is the yellow one. Oh, no I know their names already!
We live in Oz, and thank god dd's don't like it. Truly awful with Dorothy the dinosaur flying a plane to wherever, with stereotypical people from the country they flew to. Like a French lady with a baguette eating cheese with a string of onions around her neck
Agree. The shining shoes thing with the octopus is literally the most irritating thing I have EVER heard in my life!
I first saw them as an 'extra' bit at the end of Bob the Builder DVD doing the Teddy Bear Picnic....it scared me
Oh god, this has given me flashbacks to when the dses were small and some heartless bastard friend gave us the video.
I may need wine therapy!
Oh no - where did I put the mind bleach.....such bad, bad memories.......
I quite like Over In The Meadow...but I don't think it's actually their song <grasps at straws>
Mashed Potato now lodged firmly in my head.
I dislike music where you can hear people's strained "this is so much fun, fucking wheeeeeeee!" faces.
I don't mind them either
so, so much better than fucking Barney. .. DS is obsessed with all things involving music and instruments. could be worse!
Arcadia, that cannot be true.
Nothing in this world or in any other dimension can possibly be more annoying than those fecking kids in Barney. I don't accept it is possible.
I love them but only the oldest ones which can still be bought on DVD. The really old christmas DVD was my favourite.
My ds was completely toilet trained before he was 1.5 thanks to wiggle undies and a wiggle potty!
My DCs don't know Barney and thanks to this thread they never will.
At times like this, I say a prayer of thanks to God that my kids are grown up. I have seen them briefly, and they look bloody terrifying.
I didn't get off too lightly though, we did unfortunately go through a Barney the Dinosaur stage [screams]
Nonononononono!!!
DS3 must NEVER hear of the bastard wiggles.
DS2 was flipping obsessed. 7 years later and I'm still not over it.
<<twitches>>
They don't exist anymore. Dorothy went wild with a sawn-off shotgun, and massacred the entire cast.
And I'm sticking to that story every time DS2 wistfully says that DS3 might like to watch them.
<<Folds arms and glares at anyone who wishes to refute this story>>
And as for that FUCKING BASTARD purple dinosaur - No, I don't love you. Unless you are casseroled. Lets just be clear on that one, eh?
And the less said about the frankly nerve-jangling Wonder fully annoying Pets, the better...
An aussie friend told me about them and i happened to buy a DVD for 2yo DS when on holiday. Turns out the DVD was VERY old (about 15 years), because when DP downloaded some more wiggles songs, the guys looked so old, it looked like they were wearing prosthetics; we weren't expecting that!
however DS loves them, and have a soft spot for Dorothy the Dinosaur!
We have a huge selection of DVDs as dd1 loved them. They are quite educational and kept her happy so suited me. I was weven happy Greg returned as far preferred his voice to Greg.
That said there is probably a special place In hell for the DVD where they sing you make me feel like dancing with Leo sayer which includes the end bit where they make the music go all odd and start Greek dancing.
They are all different now, apart from the blue one, who looks ooooollllld.
