Is there going to be another thread?

I need to vent!

JessieEssex Tue 12-Mar-13 19:10:43

34G fits me perfectly. I can't quite believe I've been trying to squeeze my poor boobs into a 36C! Thanks so much

prettybird Tue 12-Mar-13 19:00:10

...and I breastfed ds for a year! smile

But I've always been careful to give my boobs good support at least since I was about 28 when I started wearing underwires

CelticPromise Tue 12-Mar-13 18:44:49

Blimey I don't think I passed the pencil test at 16 grin

prettybird Tue 12-Mar-13 18:19:41

My boobs have also been deflating as I lose weight much to dh's disappointment wink although he has been enjoying me getting my figure back grin

I've lost one pound short of 2 stone since 7 January! shocksmile

I still have nice shaped boobs though even if I say so myself according to dh - still pass the pencil test at nearly 52 (birthday is less than a month away) smile

CelticPromise Tue 12-Mar-13 18:11:59

That's right pretty. The hanging measurement should be quite loose so maybe try the E first. It's only a guide though.

Maybe you could try 32s with an extender if necessary while you're losing weight? Don't forget to go up in the cup if you go down in the back though.

prettybird Tue 12-Mar-13 17:24:33

I have finally measured myself. 34" back measurement and 39-40" leaning over boob measurement.

So that makes me a 34 DD/E?

Also, how tight do you need to do the hangng boobs meaurement? I have quite sticky out nipples blush and I was sort of squishing them in.

I am currently wearing a mix of 36Ds and 36Cs. I've got an older bra that was bought following fitting at M&S which is a 36DD: to be fair, I was about a stone heavier then.

I'm loath to go and buy new bras just now as I am still losing weight at the rate of about 2lb a week - but maybe I'll need to.

I am getting impatient - should have paid for the next day delivery!

Knowing that in a few days, my back and neck ache and sore bust may be OVER is too exciting! I just hope one of the bloomin' bras fits!

I had a response from Bravissimo Purplescarf - they suggested the Laurel too

Thanks marriednotdead
I'm planning a trip to Bravissimo and will try those on. Fingers crossed.

Lovely job. I might go straight in for a J and work from there as its not often I'm as empty as I was this morning. Thinking on I should have just left it a while before measuring. Now is the trick as to getting into town with 3 small children to buy one!

sorry, missed HH...H,Hh,J,JJ,K,KK etc etc etc.

After H is goes J,JJ,K,KK....bras don't like I!

PurityBrown - measurements suggest to try a 30GG at least but that is only one cup size up from a FF and from what you describe you need more than that - try an H, and even an HH.

LookAtHerGo Mon 11-Mar-13 20:34:48

It hasn't eaten it after all. Now I look like I don't know how to post!

PurityBrown Mon 11-Mar-13 20:34:18

<squeezes on to the end of the thread>

Just measured myself, and I'm 30-31" round the ribcage, 40" round the dangly bits...is that 30H?

I'm currently in a 32FF and have massive boob leakage out of the top and round the armpits. The back feels too tight, but I suspect my boobs are eating the back straps. M&S measured me as a 34E/F

LookAtHerGo Mon 11-Mar-13 20:33:46

Oh it's just eaten another post!

Thanks grin

I've just measured again and it's 49.5 or 50 if I'm generous! I'm due to pump in an hour! I am pumping a lot as it's for twins! Anything from 350 to 600mls so that'll fill them up well!

I'm not too far off in the one I'm wearing but the back is a 38 as it's from when I was heavier a year ago (when I was bf my DD) and I thought I needed a new one. Any excuse to spend money.

What's after HH? Is it J?

LookAtHerGo Mon 11-Mar-13 20:17:31

Thanks grin I've just measured again - pumping in about an hour and it was 49.5 over 50 if I was generous!

I'm pumping a lot of milk when I pump as I'm pumping for twins so they get quite full!

I'm not too far out in the one I'm wearing, but it's a 38 back from my last DC and I've lost some weight so know it needs changing.

36HH as a start point - from memory maternity bras have a bit of flex in them (the fabric tends to be kind of stretchy) but you might want to check how big the difference is just in case!

LookAtHerGo Mon 11-Mar-13 19:59:40

I hate that MN app eats posts.

What would 36 under and 48 over be please. I'm presuming it's a 36 back, it's just knowing the cup size that relates to that. This measurement was post milk expressing. I'm pumping 4 times a day at the moment and not bf. I'd just like a starting point. smile or should I also measure before pumping later?

SorrelForbes Mon 11-Mar-13 19:49:02

Congratulations!

JessieEssex Mon 11-Mar-13 19:45:34

Wowzers, thanks!

Congrats!Start with a 32G, 32GG, 34G and 34FF

JessieEssex Mon 11-Mar-13 19:41:40

Hi, you gave me some sizes as based on my 36 wk pregnant size last week. Well, DD2 is here already (bit of a surprise!), and my milk has come in today. Measurements are now 33 around chest and 42 around fullest part.
I really need to go nursing bra shopping ASAP!

That's the one, thanks
