I really want to put this on my iPad but just keep getting message on screen saying I need to update to ios5 or something. What does that even mean??? So grateful if anyone knows

silver it means you need to update your operating system on the apple website.

It is the iPad operating system - it will be free update

silver, go to Settings, General, then Software Update.
