i wish we had been given a theme. this is my first 'world book day' dressing up and have not a clue what to do. DS wants to dress up as buzz lightyear or darth vader (neither of which we have and not entirely sure that they are books either DS, they are films). have tried to persuade him to be charlie bucket (thereby just needing me to cut out a ticket from gold card) but no! does this kind of hell go on every year? then the week after we have comic relief day to contend with too
. no-one warned me about this when deciding to have children!!!

Dd has to be a book character who has travelled around the world. She is 6. I hate world book day.
Mine have to do Harry Potter. That'll be ds wearing dh's old glasses with the lenses popped out, scar drawn on forehead and normal clothes. Voila Harry Potter at the weekend

dd3 has decided to be Emily from the book Hollow Earth
we asked Carole Barrowman on twitter what Emily would look like
blue jeans, t shirt and purple streak in her hair
DD can't decide- wants to go as Pippi Longstocking, she loved that book. Or Clarice Bean. She might choose Rainbow fairies in the end...
DS loves Aliens love underpants, he's nearly 4, and wants to go as one with underpants on his head. He's still at nursery.

Oh sorry, she's a girl. Could do Princess Leia if she has long hair - 2 sock buns at either side, and wrapped in a sheet.
