Just that really, need some ideas.
I normally do flowers but wanted to do something a bit different this year as she has helped me out alot.

Nothing, maybe a card.

I thought I'd get her the Miranda boxset.

Mrs Raj - I got my mum that for xmas actually.

I really want to get her a nice little token gift just to say thanks for being an even more brilliant mum than usual, but I'm stumped

StickyGram magnets with pictures of the DC, they look great.

I have been considering perhaps a live hand grenade, a pet pirhana or a month old dead haddock, but I'll probably not bother as any money spent on the ole hag is a waste really grin

I got my mum a box of macaroons last year - she loved them!

Mynxie Tue 26-Feb-13 14:30:49

macarons not macaroons!! The pretty pastel ones.

Tee2072 Tue 26-Feb-13 14:32:04

A card.

DS1's latest school photo. He normally grins like Cherie Blair in photos, but the photographer has captured a lovely natural smile, for once!

She'll get a card, and we'll all go out for a meal as a family...

Then a week later its her birthday where she'll get a card and we'll all go out for a meal as a family grin

Best Mothers Day treat I ever got was when my (grown up) DCs hired me a skip then spent the day with me, doing a long overdue job -- clearing out my garage and roof!

It was great, daughter brought a casserole over and I had the pleasure of their company all day plus the satisfaction at the end of the day of a lovely clear garage! grin

My mum is quids in during March. It's her and Dad's anniversary (a big one this year), then Mothers Day then her birthday a week later.

<turns out pockets>

Someone mentioned the biscuiteers website on mumsnet around valentine's - I got one for my husband and it was lush (personalised chocolate biscuit). I've bought a tin of biscuits painted to look like butterflies for my mum - expensive but no more so than delivery flowers.

Shinyshoes1 Tue 26-Feb-13 19:59:46

LonelyLinda Tue 26-Feb-13 20:09:06

I will resist, otherwise it would be Anthrax or a shit in a bow tied box.

justtired Wed 27-Feb-13 09:36:13

Thanks for the ideas everyone.

Mynxie - where did you get the macarons from they sound great.

I'm not sure my mum would appreciate a grenade or a shit in a box, but each to their own grin

I take mine to the cinema, its a tradition we've been doing for a few years. We will have some afternoon tea before in some cute cafe.

A neom candle and a scarf for my mum and a scarf and some shower gel for my MIL. They both do lots to help us out so we like to treat them.
