Does that make swnse?
And why do you think you're still friends?
I've known one very DF since I was 5 - so that's 35 and a bit years.
Sadly she's in a different country now but we "speak" most weeks and visit each other as much as is possible.
I think the relationship has remained as we are do very similar, and our parents are great friends. Geography is a bugger, though.
Since we were doing our GCSE's, so when we were 15 (I think). Almost 14 years now.

Knew my oldest friend at secondary school, therefore met in 1974/5. Didn't really become friends with her until 6th form, but am still good friends with her now. So that makes well over 30 years! She is great but I only see her once or twice a year.

31 years although geography and time has left us as merely Facebook friends these days.

Since I was 4.
We have a bond. I don't see her very much but we text a lot and we have a week away in the sun each year just me and her.
I think if we saw each other a lot we'd get on each others nerves, she's a bit lot bossy and I have to stand up to her
but she's a good laugh and she let's me take the piss out of her without stropping.

38 years. I'm always there for her but she keeps me at arms' length. I need to wise up

18 years. Geographically challenged but we text most days.
Chaos you have just made me feel old

I am still quite close to one friend that I've known for approx 26 years (since we were 9/10). I am in fb contact with another that I have known for 31 years and still chat to her family (she lives far away now) quite regularly.
about 33 years.
We talk infrequently and text rarely but when we meet up we can spend the whole day chatting with no aukwardness at all.

Ignore the last bit, stupid phone.
Since we were 3 and at nursery school together. We just never fall out, and like the same things!

38 years for me - still best mates. Very lucky.
Since I was 3. We went through primary and high school together and did 6th together too so nearly 20 year
33 years, we met at secondary school..Sept 1979. We weren't really really close at school, but we just stayed in touch ever since and she has come to all the big events in my life, she even came to my dad's funeral in November just to be there for me.
We are very different but she is the most down to earth, honest, genuine person I know. She is going through a really hard time at the moment as she has been made redundant and I wish I could help more.

Since we were both six. I'm 'facebook friends' with a couple of other people from that time as well, but it isn't the same.

All my life. Our mums were friends from when our older siblings were babies. She was my bridesmaid, she's my DD's godmother, I'll be her maid of honour and DD will be a flower girl at her wedding later this year.
She lives in a different country these days and we rarely see each other. Our bond is mainly to do with the length of our friendship and the fact that we just get each other. We're both simple souls really and it just works.

24 years (I'm not counting vague Facebook contact with old primary classmates) We meet up a few times a year and talk on the phone every few weeks - can always pick up exactly where we left off and chat for hours. He's actually my ex from our late teens but all that is now very distant. I think we're still friends because we always had loads in common, same sense of humour, very easy companionship. He's a good guy

Thanks, Chaos - it's ok. No one know why I put up with her but she's the nearest thing I've got to a sister and I worry about her as her life is shite. I've been meaning to do a thread about her for ages but she'd never speak to me again if she recognised herself!
25ish years. She's in America, but we talk weekly, at least.

24 years, met on 1st day of high school. Last saw her a couple of weeks ago. We still get on well.
I still keep in touch with a few people from primary but wouldn't say we were friends.

I have an old friend I started primary with so 34 years, but we're only in touch once or twice a year and tbh our lives are very different. I don't do facebook either so it's barely really a friendship.
I spoke to my other old friend yesterday on the phone, he's a chap, he lives a couple of hundred miles away, but I've known him since I was 15. He's lovely.
We never got it on and we're still close and talk about almost everything. I just wish we had got married, fallen in love, something like that - we approached it but it didn't happen for some reason.
We're both oddos which is why we're still friends I think
