Dd1 started walking at 7months and hasn't sat down since. She's really high energy and wants to be out and about all the time. I don't think she much cares if I am there or not. She is 7

So...dd2 has come as a bit of a suprise. Shed be happy if we never went out anywhere ever. Her favourite thing is sitting on me on the sofa under a blanket, cuddling. It's lovely to be so adored obviously! But I am a bit [confused[

Is it OK???????

I don't really know what I mean....do you know what I mean?...

Skang Fri 22-Feb-13 20:10:42

How old is she?

Catsdontcare Fri 22-Feb-13 20:12:35

Yes ds1 is a home buddy, he would spend an entire weekend in pj's pottering around (he's 8)

BigAudioDynamite Fri 22-Feb-13 20:12:54

Oh yeah!.....she's 2

Annunziata Fri 22-Feb-13 20:13:47

Of course it's okay when you're 2! If she was 20 then you have a problem.

Isn't homely the nice word for ugly?

BigAudioDynamite Fri 22-Feb-13 20:15:47

That's reassuring cats Dd has been in her pyjamas all day today.

I don't get it though...they are children...I thought they all wanted to go out and do stuff?! confused

My 8 yr old ds is a home buddy & like Catsdontcare's ds would happily spend every weekend or probably every day more like it having a pyjama day at home!! 11 yr old dd on the other hand can't wait to go out every day!!

coldcupoftea Fri 22-Feb-13 20:18:08

My 2yo DD2 is like this. If you ever ask what she wants to do her answer will always be 'stay at home!'

BigAudioDynamite Fri 22-Feb-13 20:18:10

Haha, is it ann? She's definitely not ugly! Maybe that's what um worried about...maybe we will still be smuggling up in 18 years time shock

FarleyD Fri 22-Feb-13 20:19:24

I have an 8 yr old ds who would happily never leave the house. I try to prise him out, especially on lovely days, as I feel guilty but he breathes a virtual sigh of relief when it's time to go home again!

TeWiSavesTheDay Fri 22-Feb-13 20:19:27

Nah. My DC are both very cuddly. I get bored at babygroups because they just want to stay right next to me all the time!

DD is worse for it than DS, but she got better as she got older, no troubles settling at pre-school etc.

Annunziata Fri 22-Feb-13 20:20:29

grin I still love a cuddle from my babies even though they're in their twenties. There is nothing wrong from having a cuddle with your mammy no matter what age you are!

BigAudioDynamite Fri 22-Feb-13 20:22:16

She does go to nursery 2 days a week, and appears to enjoy it a lot

utahforever Fri 22-Feb-13 20:23:08

Yep. I have a 9 year DS and he loves nothing more than NOT getting out of his jammies grin

I love the fact he likes spending time with us, although he's starting to refuse my kisses tho shock

sydlexic Fri 22-Feb-13 20:23:31

My 12 year old DS is still like that.

PenelopePisstop Fri 22-Feb-13 20:26:02

DS is homely and he's 19 nearly 20! Oh dear lol

Doesn't seem to have done him much harm -he just prefers home to anywhere else and he seems to like me. Result I say.

elliepac Fri 22-Feb-13 20:26:25

I have a 9yr old DS who likes nothing more than a weekend pj day culminating in DVD on the sofa cuddled up under a blanketsmile. It won't last so am enjoying it while I can!

bellybuttonfairy Fri 22-Feb-13 20:26:51

Dd1 6 years ols is miss sociable. Loves being with friends and out all day.

Dd2 4 years old, I have to prise her out of the house....

DS1 16 months - extreemly busy and already looks bored being indoors....

slatternlymother Fri 22-Feb-13 20:27:58

My 2yo DS is like this. He likes going out, but he loves coming home and playing with his toys and having us all to himself grin

I love it. I love that he enjoys his time at home smile

Yup.

Both myself and 9 year old DS spend large amounts of time snuggled up in pyjamas.

I think it's lovely that she's soooooo happy snuggling up with you.

And everyone likes blankets! Wise comment of the day, surely ?

grin

Hesterton Fri 22-Feb-13 20:28:20

They're little poeple, as varied as big ones.

Hesterton Fri 22-Feb-13 20:28:51

Poeple?? people, bah.

My dd is an out and about person, and loves nothing more than being with friends.

Ds gets in from school and changes immediately into his pj's - he likes nothing better than being at home with us.

smugmumofboys Fri 22-Feb-13 20:36:14

Ds1 (10) loves being at home. It's a bit of an issue actually, as he hates going out at the weekend. He cries about going into town on a Saturday and once famously locked himself in the bathroom as he didn't want to go for a walk!

DeWe Fri 22-Feb-13 20:40:20

DD1 always loves just being at home and doing "homey" things, always had done. (age 12)

Ds would happily spend all day cuddled up to me, or helping me do stuff round the house. (age 5). But he really needs exercising being a lively little one.

Dd2 wants to be out busy all the time.
