Listening to the radio and some guy on Desesrt island Disks requested Rod Stewarts 'Have I Told You Lately That I Love You'... My last relationship was over 7 years ago and been a lone parent for 12 years ago, and I am in tears as no one has ever or will ever feel like that about me.

I am fairly content being single really but tomorrow is my birthday and there will be no flowers, few cards (parents, children if they remember) and no celebrations.

Recovery from an op so off work and another couple of weeks before I can drive and get back to work, and realise I am feeling a bit down because of this.

Please bring me to my senses and tell me it isn't important that I no one will feel this way about me.

You are now <insert age of choice> and can do whatever you want smile

This includes making plans for your NEXT birthday from now. If you can put away even a fiver a week, you will have £250 for a fabulous treat or party and you will be feeling well enough to enjoy it by then.

Meanwhile, today is your special day. If you want your DCs to make a fuss of you then tell them so they know for future reference. They're at quite a selfish/self absorbed stage in life so prodding may be required near the time.

You could of course be like the queen and have a second birthday later in the year. More cake can never be bad IMO grin

Whatever you do, I hope you find some pleasure in your day.

Whereabouts are you? You may get a local MNetter for company if you're not careful... x

DC1 at Uni, DC2 with his dad so all alone...DC2 has really good reason to be with his dad so fine with it...not first birthday I have been alone and doubt it will be the last.
