Help
Everyone is asking me for Xmas present ideas for me and I just don't have a clue.
What do you want for Xmas?

TessCackle Thu 14-Nov-13 22:05:55

From my DP a silver bracelet with a heart charm. My sisters (3 of them) are getting me a cream sauce pan set I'm so boring and my parents bought me a washing machine when mine packed in a few weeks ago. HTH

Wineandchoccy Thu 14-Nov-13 22:05:56

Skinny jeans
Benefit porefressional
Mascara
Slippers
Dressing gown
Chamois leather + air freshener for my new company car!

ELR Thu 14-Nov-13 22:14:00

Dkny watch
Alex Monroe bumble bee necklace
Purple coolpix camera

Hopefully should get at least one of those, what I would really love is a stocking with some surprises in but DH isn't good at stuff like that, so I've also purchased myself a neom candle, an envelope clutch from boden and an umbrella by a company called wanderlust which I will just enjoy having as DH alwYs moans if I ask for things like that and just says he'd rather I just buy them as and when!

Longdistance Thu 14-Nov-13 22:17:02

Im a cheap date. I only want Cee Lo Greens CD and a slanket old ladies blanket

TwoStepsBeyond Thu 14-Nov-13 22:17:06

Roller skates, a cosy jumper and DP is threatening to buy me some electronic gadget, such as a Roomba, which would be amazing but not sure I could cope with telling people I got a Hoover for Xmas!

LulaPalooza Thu 14-Nov-13 22:19:04

Marking my place. I need inspiration! I will get something fairly blah from M&S from my DF or £20 cash. DM and DstepF always bu fab presents, with loads of thought put into it. It's only DH who I will have to tell what to buy make subtle suggestions to

Pinkpinot Thu 14-Nov-13 22:19:30

A divorce

fuzzpig Thu 14-Nov-13 22:21:27

From my parents - framed print of the snail by Matisse grin

From DH probably a ukulele!

I have also got myself a few bits for my stocking blush DH a bit miffed but I couldn't resist an Optic Wonder (had one as a kid, BEST TOY EVER), a card game recently rereleased after years out of print, and Oz the Great and Powerful DVD.

A hand held anemometer grin do t think I will get one though.

ShatnersBassoon Thu 14-Nov-13 22:25:08

A stocking full of little surprises from DH. I'm trying to convince everyone else to not worry this year (too old and, if I'm honest, bored of the same old same old), but they're not listening.

iklboo Thu 14-Nov-13 22:25:59

A lovely MNer (so sorry I forget who) has a 'something you want, something you need, something to wear, something to read' present guide. Maybe that helps?

2kidsintow Thu 14-Nov-13 22:26:46

sad Pinkpinot.

I want a new sofa. DH is HARD on sofas. And our super, curved, 5 seater thing is no longer practical. And DD shows me today that he (or the geriatric cat) has managed to make a hole in the arm. Great.

However, geriatric cat means new sofa not practical. sad sad He'll just ruin any new one by scrabbling up it.

joanofarchitrave Thu 14-Nov-13 22:28:50

[googles Optic Wonder]

I haven't really asked for anything. What I would actually like:

iPad with lots of apps for work
neonatal stethoscope
Ella Doran place mats, maybe these
The Sleepwalkers (book)
Theatre tokens
Massage tokens

Mintyy Thu 14-Nov-13 22:30:02

Might ask for a greenhouse.

IpsyUpsyDaisyDo Thu 14-Nov-13 22:32:49

A slow-cooker. They are life-changing apparently...

Weeantwee Thu 14-Nov-13 22:32:50

All I have asked for so far is pyjamas from DM and rabbit ears salad servers from DH. confused

I need to up my game!

CharlotteBronteSaurus Thu 14-Nov-13 22:33:01

Morrissey's autobiography
a goodly amount of Green and Black's sea salt chocolate
an afternoon to myself, on which to enjoy both of the above

ladydepp Thu 14-Nov-13 22:58:36

Bedside carafe
Handheld blender
Books (various)
Monica Vinader jewellery
Jo Malone blackberry and bay something.....
Liz Earle hand serum
chocolate covered brazil nuts
Arctic monkeys cd for the car

Any or all of the above! grin

gintastic Thu 14-Nov-13 23:16:24

I was planning to buy some posh thermostatic radiator valves for the house, but unexpectedly will probably have to spend the money on childcare (see my other thread). I really want them, but asking for radiator valves for Christmas?

Should I?

Otherwise, DH usually indulges my foot fetish. For my sewing machine, that is, I would like a pintuck foot and a flower foot smile

I'm pretty easy to please, to be honest!

I already have ordered/ DH has bought ;

A gorgeous solitaire ring

A nice big M&S handbag

4 new tyres for the car (ok not as glamorous as the previous 2 but a necessary purchase)

I want a new food processor (household buy) .
I could get a Kenwood but I covet a KitchenAid or a snazzy Dualit from John Lewis)

Arohaitis Thu 14-Nov-13 23:38:06

I will probably get nothing
Except I have a chocolate orange all for me and got myself a lovely red mini handbag off ebay.

I want some complex things but outside of good health and world peace etcetc, what i really want it to have a healthy pregnancy (need to conceive first!) and what I really really want is twins!

Mogz Thu 14-Nov-13 23:38:17

Lots of books and time to myself for a bubble bath.

Spaulding Thu 14-Nov-13 23:51:19

A breadmaker
Recipe books
Converse

That's it! Since having DS he gets spoilt with all the presents and I just get one or two! envy grin

gintastic Thu 14-Nov-13 23:54:24

Oooh Converse. I would like some of those. smile

MairzyDoats Thu 14-Nov-13 23:57:25

A panini press, some John Lewis mercurised silver candlesticks, sheepskin scuffs and books.

MairzyDoats Thu 14-Nov-13 23:57:56

Ooh, converse... Now there's an idea...

A bloody great big wicker basket
Some jewellery
The ability to lose two stone of baby weight overnight
A white stuff skirt

17leftfeet Fri 15-Nov-13 00:01:44

Nothing

I've got no one to buy me anything

I could give the dcs some money to buy me something but that seems a bit pointless really

MairzyDoats Fri 15-Nov-13 00:03:35

Aww, 17 I think you should do that. If they don't have money of their own at least you'll be getting a gift from someone who loves you.

soundevenfruity Fri 15-Nov-13 00:20:48

Me (asked on a spur of the moment): something for back garden where you can burn logs, because I love open fire in the winter and there are no fireplaces in our house

He planed: iPad (but I would have to share with him and DC)

What I really want: a niche perfume, gorgeous but eye-wateringly expensive

scurryfunge Fri 15-Nov-13 00:25:16

I have asked for a unicycle every year for the past 10 years or so.....no one ever obliges.

agendabender Fri 15-Nov-13 00:41:43

DH is giving me a ring sling, and I'm hoping my parents will get me a wrap sling. What I really REALLY want is to make it to 37 weeks with DC2 and not have another premmie. 37 weeks would be the 27th December, so Christmas Day would do me really!

hyenafunk Fri 15-Nov-13 08:53:58

Morrissey's autobiography
Agatha Christie Poirot books
Blue and white crockery

No I'm not 70 grin

No I'm not 70

Ahem,,,,,, taking my NN in vain hyena? wink

I was drawn into Waterstones by the Morrissey autobiography. As a teenager in the 80s (the BEST era) I might be tempted to buy this.

Impomea Fri 15-Nov-13 11:04:30

A dog (won't get one )sad

gamerchick Fri 15-Nov-13 11:09:02

Door murals. I've been very clear on the subject.

CrotchStitch Fri 15-Nov-13 11:16:02

A handmade flat cap- I will get this as DH is enraged that I wear his so he gets a cold head grin
Some North Face walking boots- I will get these as I desperately need new boots so will order them anyway, I would just rather unwrap them on Christmas Day grin
The GBBO book- I will get this as I ordered it from the Book People to bump my order up grin

TBH DH is well meaning but a little like a rabbit in the headlights in proper shops and not much better online. We also tend to order exactly what we want or need and I rarely have surprises as I am so fussy

TallulahTwinkle Fri 15-Nov-13 11:23:03

Ooh, I have been googling all your lovely ideas, now I desperately want some Alex Monroe jewellery!

smallandimperfectlyformed Fri 15-Nov-13 11:30:03

I have asked for the new Agatha Raisin book and Call the Midwife (DVD, have read the books) but I'm quite tempted by reading all of Poirot too! Otherwise I'm pleased with chocolates, smelly stuff, really typically girlie presents (not make up though, very sensitive skin)

Passthecake30 Fri 15-Nov-13 11:36:26

Nothing. Parents don't get presents in my family....but dp might stretch to a couple of Lindt reindeers I guess!

I actually prefer it, and treat myself in the boots sale instead.

mamathechicken Fri 15-Nov-13 13:13:58

17leftfeet thats not pointless , you a get a little surprise and it will be so much fun to see what they chose.

i have asked for a pandora charm and some liz earle stuff

forcookssake Fri 15-Nov-13 22:03:20

Toetoe socks, Liz Earle cleanse and polish, DM biker boots, Nashville CD grin
I may have already ordered some of these in case older relatives give money towards 'something I'd enjoy' and meanwhile clocking up the overtime to make up the difference, with any unaccounted £s being saved for the sales!

CremeEggThief Sat 16-Nov-13 10:45:51

Nothing. I'll probably get £20 from my mum and something small from my DS. If I can afford it, I'll get myself a jet and silver necklace.

A surprise

fuzzpig Sat 16-Nov-13 12:13:05

TunipTheUnconquerable Sat 16-Nov-13 12:16:10

A Tudor coin
A steam mop

wintercyclist Sat 16-Nov-13 12:36:21
