Am I right in thinking it will start on Friday 29th November?

IsaacCox Fri 27-Sep-13 13:40:57

I believe so. I'm looking forward to it. Loved it the past couple of years.

Is it the Friday after Thanksgiving?

In which case, yes it would be 29th November.

<<Makes note to ask DH who does lots of Amazon shopping...>>

FairyJen Fri 27-Sep-13 13:48:10

What is the Black Friday thing? I've seen it mentioned a lot but never went on it or anything. I rarely use amazon until I found the xmas bargain thread so don't know what happens smile

Chocotrekkie Fri 27-Sep-13 13:51:30

<< makes note to ask boss if I can work from home that week >>

Marne Fri 27-Sep-13 13:54:58

I found last years rubbish compared to the year before, I bought a couple things last year and all were disappointing, the year before was much better with bigger bargains. I won't be getting too excited about this years.

milk Fri 27-Sep-13 14:48:24

Black Friday 2011 I bought a XXL box of Duplo for £25 grin

VoldemortsNipple Fri 27-Sep-13 15:40:25

FairyJen, it works like the lightening deals. Amazon slash the price of things for a limited period or until it's sold out.

Last year a bought day a stunt scooter for around £60 which was better than half price.

The year before I bought my mum a Kipling bag for £13 which she uses daily and still looks like new. A curling wand for around £20 which has been great and a few other bits.

TheOnlyPink Fri 27-Sep-13 16:26:53

Didn't it run for the week leading up to black Friday and then had their best bargains on that day? Did I imagine that? I got sfa last year, but some great bargains the year before!

WaitMonkey Fri 27-Sep-13 16:29:04

Last year was rubbish though. sad

IsaacCox Fri 27-Sep-13 16:40:33

I loved the black friday thread that ran all week on MN.

SugarHut Mon 30-Sep-13 21:46:40

I have never even heard of this Black Friday thing?! So, from what I'm reading, I understand Amazon slash their prices...but how do you know what the heavily reduced items are? Do they just have a "Black Friday" button/thing on the site you click on then browse through the deals?

raisah Mon 30-Sep-13 23:58:06

Remember that they dont pay their taxes in the UK so thats how they can afford to slash their prices & generally undercut everybody else.

HoneyDragon Tue 01-Oct-13 00:01:53

But unlike Boots they pass the cost to the consumer.

And I pay enough tax for everyone sad

HoneyDragon Tue 01-Oct-13 00:04:17

And loads and loads of uk stores gave adapted Americas Black Friday as a Sale day, Tesco, Apple <obviously>, Asda, Ebay..

ouryve Tue 01-Oct-13 00:06:59

They do it all year now. I'm not banking on it being any good.

lucysmam Tue 01-Oct-13 10:13:46

How do you know what these massively discounted items are? Is there a 'section' for them specifically?smile

It was crap last year, and to be honest, the lightning deals usually are too, I'm not going to bother I don't think.

TheGhostOfMargaretPast Tue 01-Oct-13 10:21:35

I would like to know what has been reduced by half price, is there a list?

JerseySpud Tue 01-Oct-13 10:36:18

no you have to wait on the day

Last year I waited and spent ages scrolling through it all to find there was nothing I wanted. Also, I like to do the bulk of my Christmas shopping earlier than that.

TheOnlyPink Sun 24-Nov-13 19:16:50

Tomorrows Deals have been posted Here

CatAmongThePigeons Sun 24-Nov-13 19:35:56

Oooh exciting! I've been on MN for a year now!

DisneyAddict88 Sun 24-Nov-13 19:52:04

oooo exciting looks like a few good bits tomorrow hopefully they are good prices fifa 14 hopefully cheap then partners xmas sorted (and assassins creed black flag if it comes up!)

DisneyAddict88 Sun 24-Nov-13 19:52:58

anyone know if u can access it on the app? have a samsung if it makes a difference!

TheOnlyPink Sun 24-Nov-13 19:57:29

DisneyAddiction you can access lightening deals on the app, but you cant view tomorrows ones yet, not sure if the black friday deals will work on the app, they get massive traffic for these.

I was a bit disappointed with the first day, apart from the 3ds bundle there isnt anything too interesting, but will still be interested to see the prices!

TheOnlyPink Sun 24-Nov-13 19:59:16

Ooooh, they have added LOADS more since I posted it! blush

TheDoctrineOfWho Sun 24-Nov-13 20:34:38

Marking place!

RiverSongsCervix Sun 24-Nov-13 21:21:28

evening all. I can't remember what name I had last year but it is lovely to be back.

I'm off until Thursday night so will be wasting some hours I think.

RiverSongsCervix Sun 24-Nov-13 21:22:33

hang on. maybe need a special black Friday name.

BlackFridayCervix Sun 24-Nov-13 21:26:01

GlitteredPinecones Sun 24-Nov-13 21:29:53

I can't remember my name last year either grin

The first thing I need to get tomorrow is Fifa 14.

I'm excitttteeeeddd grin

Tortoise Sun 24-Nov-13 21:32:59

I was on last year's thread. Wasn't expecting to have any money to spend this week but won £140 on online bingo last night. Now I have pennies to spend lol.

BlackFridayCervix Sun 24-Nov-13 21:40:38

here's some 2011 fun the finale

BlackFridayCervix Sun 24-Nov-13 21:50:01

and 2010 when I was TheLogLady grin

can't find 2012 though.

Tortoise Sun 24-Nov-13 21:50:45

Lol I was on that one too grin.

I was on last years thread(s), as the same name grin Am sadly at a funeral tomorrow, so won't be able to join in, so hope they don't have anything I want tomorrow!

Remember, if in doubt, add to basket, you can always delete once it's in there grin

Cervix - there was a thread for each day last year smile

yoniwherethesundontshine Sun 24-Nov-13 22:26:57

I am confused are the prices on the link what they will be tomorow?

Tortoise Sun 24-Nov-13 22:32:59

The prices aren't shown until the deal start time.

TheOnlyPink Sun 24-Nov-13 22:34:40

yoni no, they only release the prices when they are on sale. And things go FAST, so no time to think about it.

I'm really hoping for skylanders swap force, its the last thing i need to get!

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 00:15:16

More items appearing. I had a feeling the Lego books would be there sometime and now they are!

ApocalypseMeow Mon 25-Nov-13 00:21:57

Ooh Disney I'm looking for assassins creed black flag too smile

milk Mon 25-Nov-13 06:53:48

Some of the items look rather fishy... I wondered why the Vax U88-AM-P Air³ Pet Multi-Cyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner (7:15pm) was put up so high a few months back after being at the £130-140 price mark, I guess they wanted to make it pricey so they could put the price down for Black Friday week.

milk Mon 25-Nov-13 06:56:15

Do not buy Windows 8... it is pure evil!!! Windows 7 is much better smile

Cataline Mon 25-Nov-13 07:08:48

Having never participated before , I have no idea what to do!! I've found the page with the deals- should I open a new tab for each item i'm interested in and then check back at deal time?!

ClaimedByMe Mon 25-Nov-13 07:19:26

Is this the official black Friday thread?

Signing in..cervix I remember you from last years black Friday, I think you bought everything a few items!

Loads more added overnight smile

Cataline, no, you have to stay on the deals page, the individual pages do not update as far as I'm aware. When the deal opens, a button appears, click on it as soon as possible. Good luck!

GlitteredPinecones Mon 25-Nov-13 07:26:04

I woke up at 4.30 thinking about all the deals, and couldn't get back to sleep! blush saddo

I've looked through all the stuff and made a list of what I like the look of

I've got Amazon open on both the laptop and iPad incase one crashes or something

I've done the housework that needed doing so I'm free all day

I've got presents ready to wrap in between bargains

I've got a drink and snacks grin

I'm ready to goooo! grin

Cataline Mon 25-Nov-13 07:41:21

Thanks whispers grin

milk Mon 25-Nov-13 07:43:12

GlitteredPinecones I couldn't get back to sleep as well sad

milk Mon 25-Nov-13 07:43:58

Btw, I've only just realised it was me who started this thread blush

Good going glittered! I won't be able to join in until tomorrow afternoon sad
Even when I don't want anything, I like seeing how fast the stuff goes grin
This time last year, DS was just doing two mornings a week at preschool, this year he is two full days, so I will miss two days worth of 3pm deals due to picking him up hmm Pesky kids, getting in the way of bargain hunting grin

GlitteredPinecones Mon 25-Nov-13 07:50:34

sad Milk. It was like blummin' Christmas eve! grin

Pesky kids indeed Whispers grin. Sorry to hear about your loss x

whatareyoueventalkingabout Mon 25-Nov-13 07:56:32

is this where people are posting deals?

HoneyDavros Mon 25-Nov-13 07:59:00

I'm here. grin

GlitteredPinecones Mon 25-Nov-13 07:59:06

1 minute to gooo! grin

SoupDragon Mon 25-Nov-13 08:01:29

Oooh! I have the coffee machine in my basket... do I check out or not...?

TomDaleysTrunks Mon 25-Nov-13 08:02:47

Ooh I got a times crossword set for inlaws Christmas!

Hello by the way!!

HoneyDavros Mon 25-Nov-13 08:02:58

Incidentally Gossard still haven't taken this weekends free delivery of their site yet, plenty if bras left at £6 each if nothing takes your fancy on Amazon wink

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 08:03:47

And we're off!!!!

I plan on doing my entire Christmas shopping from black Friday.

And I absolutely need a SAD light so that's my day sorted.

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 08:06:41

Glittered - that is dedication. well done.

milk Mon 25-Nov-13 08:13:48

May I suggest even if the item you want isn't until later, have a few practice runs first (without purchasing the items)

antimatter Mon 25-Nov-13 08:15:21

Hello everyone smile
I can't see coffee machines in their current deals...

I am after Garmin SatNav myself

antimatter Mon 25-Nov-13 08:16:25

sorry..... I see Krupps coffee machine... apologies!

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 08:16:39

I am really chuffed with the coffee machine you get a £70 voucher with it to spend on pods so it is free really well that's how I'm justifying it to DH

milk Mon 25-Nov-13 08:17:45

Items are still being added shock 3 more toys have been added since 6:30 this morning...

Pogosticks Mon 25-Nov-13 08:17:54

Mmm I think I might be bargained out! Nothing is grabbing me. I just 'need' a v specific £££ umbrella and a maternity top so I am v fussy this black friday.

Those cyberjammies look LOVELY though.

dingit Mon 25-Nov-13 08:18:01

Thanks for the FIFA 14 heads up. Just got it for £30 smile

HarrietJonesPrimeMinister Mon 25-Nov-13 08:19:08

I'm just working a few hours ahead. Next thing I'm interested in is walking dead at 9am

antimatter Mon 25-Nov-13 08:22:24

notso - we used to have those pods in our office - it was very good quality stuff!
I remember liking light blue pods
Indian one was far too strong for me (I think they were black)

antimatter Mon 25-Nov-13 08:22:57

wow - all Krupps machines are gone already!

GlitteredPinecones Mon 25-Nov-13 08:23:48

Just got Fifa 14 too, that'll be DH happy though not me tbh

I signed up to Amazon prime too for the 1 day delivery. Is it easy to cancel? If I cancel now will I still get the free trial does anyone know? I don't want to forget to cancel and be charged £49...

ThisIsMeNow Mon 25-Nov-13 08:27:23

Do you just chuck it in your basket or do you have to have paid before they run out?

SoupDragon Mon 25-Nov-13 08:29:56

You put it in your basket and then it's yours for 15 minutes. Gives you thinking time before you have to pay!

HarrietJonesPrimeMinister Mon 25-Nov-13 08:31:14

Yes you can cancel

GlitteredPinecones Mon 25-Nov-13 08:32:55

Brilliant, thank you.

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 08:34:30

antimatter good to have a pod recommendation. Lot's have people have said the nespresso ones are the best.
The delivery said 4th-24th of December though!

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 08:35:02

Just had a practice to get my clicking finger warmed up. Got the rocket balls but can't think who I'd give them to so put them back.
I'm out between 9 and 10 but nothing there I think I need.

LtEveDallas Mon 25-Nov-13 08:36:29

Bloody hell I can't seem to get on. Am I doing something wrong - I thought I just had to click Lightening Deals?

ThisIsMeNow Mon 25-Nov-13 08:36:51

Thanks !thanks

MooseyMoo Mon 25-Nov-13 08:38:53

Click on Black Friday image, not Lightening deals

LtEveDallas Mon 25-Nov-13 08:41:26

Dammit, looks like it's the bloody firewall. Work upgraded this year and loads of stuff changed (thank god they didn't find out about MN). Can call it up on my phone, but won't be able to buy anything (no 3G).

Boo sad will have to wait until I get home.

MooseyMoo Mon 25-Nov-13 08:42:40

They re-do most deals at the weekend

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 08:43:24

I think you need to go home urgently sick LtEve grin

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 08:46:01

pyjamas are bargainous but only size 10 sad

GlitteredPinecones Mon 25-Nov-13 08:46:23

Dammit, the laptop and ipad both refreshed and now the waitlist is full for the Kipling bag angry

MooseyMoo Mon 25-Nov-13 08:47:26

That happened to me too Glittered sad

getoffthecoffeetable Mon 25-Nov-13 08:54:40

Bloody refresh happened to me too. Didn't help that DH'A phoned to tell me deal had started (I know, watched the seconds going down and I can tell the time!) he kept telling me to out it in my basket but it was still at full price. Grr, these husbands who think they're being helpful!

dandelionsRflowers Mon 25-Nov-13 09:02:41

Put the wrong bloody bag in my basket. Waitlist full for the one I wanted.

GlitteredPinecones Mon 25-Nov-13 09:03:24

Bloody refresh grrr sad

SoupDragon Mon 25-Nov-13 09:11:30

I've had 4 deals and put them all back.

ClaimedByMe Mon 25-Nov-13 09:11:45

I got FIFA for ds, I aim to get 2 kindles too but seeing they have already reduced them to £99 I don't think they will go any lower!

SoupDragon Mon 25-Nov-13 09:13:37

Are you sure the coffee machine comes with a £70 voucher?

GlitteredPinecones Mon 25-Nov-13 09:18:33

I managed to get on the waitlist for the Kipling bag, number #28

Are there any tricks to stop the page refreshing? It's a pain!

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 09:20:49

SoupDragon It certainly does at full price and the offer is with Nespresso machines bought from any store not just Amazon so I see no reason for it not to be valid. crosses fingers

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 09:21:54

I was tempted by the Miele and dithered missing the Gruffalo storage unit.

PigtailsAndPlaits Mon 25-Nov-13 09:25:15

I was looking at the Gruffalo storage unit, when I checked last night it was up at £39.99 and it went to £29 only £10 off so couldn't justify it

Nerfmother Mon 25-Nov-13 09:27:09

Darn it. Can't force myself to want any of it. Only really need the moshi monsters mall and a tree frog with magnetic hands confused ...

SoupDragon Mon 25-Nov-13 09:27:18

Just that the Amazon description doesn't mention it.

schilke Mon 25-Nov-13 09:28:25

Looked through today's deals - nothing of any interest for me. Hoping tomorrow is a bit better.

milk Mon 25-Nov-13 09:30:35

The Panorama programme Amazon: The Truth Behind The Click is due to be shown tonight at 8.30pm on BBC1...

I don't want anything for today, but I can't stay away confused

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 09:33:08

It does for me, it's in a little box under see more product details and 3 new from... 1 used from.
You have to fill in a form on the Nespresso website with the model number etc and register with their club.

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 09:35:20

It's showing on both prices to £49.99 and £129.

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 09:35:47

I mean too!

HoneyDavros Mon 25-Nov-13 09:48:35

LtEve, if you do see anything you want to try for let me know. If it goes for a price you want or less I can get it for you. And then make dh deliver it to you when he passes through your town.
I refuse to let your career get in the way of a good bargain grin

Place marking. smile

Theonlyoneiknow Mon 25-Nov-13 09:52:05

Marking place! Hoping the Secret Seven books are a good price!

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 09:56:36

I won't be able to watch panorama - it might ruin my annual hobby.

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 10:00:49

Finally got my H&M Christmas cot bed duvets. Santa is grey on them hmm but seeing as I got the 2 for £11.98 I can't complain, and DS2&3 won't care!

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 10:01:08

Wrong thread!

Dontwanttobeyourmonkeywrench Mon 25-Nov-13 10:03:52

I got Fifa, crossword books and SLR. Might have to nominate my friends house for delivery or hide from my postie (and DH) because I have had parcels arriving everyday for the past week blush Postie very kindly told me that I might have been paying too much for postage but I told him I was fully abusing my Prime membership. He called in the next day to tell me that he signed his wife up for Prime just for Black friday grin

antimatter Mon 25-Nov-13 10:08:08

notso - I didn't like chocolate flavoured ones smile they sounded nice, but in reality not worth money IMHO

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 10:16:22

I'm here at last. Not found much of interest so far. I just knew the bloody 1D album would be there. I already bought on pre-order!

Allice Mon 25-Nov-13 10:21:21

Not overly impressed so far but hoping the rocket dogs will be a good price as would like a black pair.

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 10:25:23

If the card game Dobble is cheap enough I might get that. Looks like might be a good stocking filler!

SisterMerror Mon 25-Nov-13 10:31:39

I just got Dobble. It looks good. I'm spending too much though!

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 10:33:16

It's in my basket but I can't decide what to do. I've only got about £100 till Thursday. Maybe I should wait until later in the week.

SisterMerror Mon 25-Nov-13 10:36:47

Do the same things sometimes come round again later in the week? This is my first time doing Black Friday.

Hawkmoth Mon 25-Nov-13 10:39:33

Three minutes and no mousey ride on. Sad.

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 10:45:56

Wheres the 1D album?

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 10:46:28

Yes they do sometimes SisterMerror smile

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 10:48:36

Notso It's at 7pm

SisterMerror Mon 25-Nov-13 10:52:52

Thanks Tortoise. Did you decide to get the Dobble game?

I just bought Rocket Dog boots. I've been needing some decent winter boots for ages so I hope they're good. They can be my Christmas present to myself grin

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 10:54:37

Thanks * Tortoise* 7 is a crap time for me!
I managed to get two last year, bet I don't get any this year.

Baazinga Mon 25-Nov-13 10:55:37

Somebody stop me!!
We really needed a new electric toothbrush though....and two pairs of rocket dogs (in black and brown) will come in handy....I work in a very cold farm shop <justifies self>

LegoAcupuncture Mon 25-Nov-13 10:56:13

Love Black Friday.

Don't give up hope if you're his up on the waiting list, I was #128 once for a kiddizoom camera and still managed to get it a few years ago. Just don't leave your computer!

Gutted I am working this year as past few years I've been able to get most things I wanted and sat glued to my laptop

HoneyDragon Mon 25-Nov-13 10:56:14

I have shamelessly rationalised as thus.

I pay my corporation tax. I pay a living wage to employees. If I didn't I could afford to buy this stuff at John Lewis instead of Amazon. But I do so I can't.

I'm hoping that will keep the capitalist guilt away till after Christmas grin

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 10:57:18

No, I've left it. I really wish I'd saved money up over the year ready for this!

Baazinga Mon 25-Nov-13 10:57:40

Am quietly pleased that i am achieving this with a BFing baby and a potty training toddler with an upset tum...they have good timing so far grin

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 11:31:42

does BiL want a micro tool? or H?

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 11:38:52

I really need a new electric toothbrush but it will have to wait until at least the end of the week if they are back on.

KatoPotato Mon 25-Nov-13 11:40:59

When will that ceramic sitting pig go live... grin

Marne Mon 25-Nov-13 11:45:46

Not having much luck, missed out on the gruff all storage thing and the Kipling purse, I wanted the rocket dog boots but they were too much ( they were only £35 yesterday anyway so £31 was a huge saving ).

kateecass Mon 25-Nov-13 11:48:12

Is there a way to stop having to go back through all the pages after you click on the deal?!!

SoupDragon Mon 25-Nov-13 11:51:55

I right click and open in a new tab. Probably doesn't work to claim a deal though but it's good for browsing.

Baazinga Mon 25-Nov-13 11:58:45

Kateecass if you open each deal you want to look at in a separate tab you can just go back to the main page where you left it.

kateecass Mon 25-Nov-13 11:59:26

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 11:59:33

I right click and open new tab too.

kateecass Mon 25-Nov-13 12:02:21

That didn't open a new tab for some reason but it worked! Had some Illy coffee in my basket but only got a £1 off so not worth it really.

Ziggyzoom Mon 25-Nov-13 12:03:43

Have just ordered the portable DVD's - quite pleased with the discount!

MissisCellophane Mon 25-Nov-13 12:04:44

Rocket dogs size 5 are the only size not reduced!!! Sad. I love Rocket Dogs

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 12:09:23

I'm annoyed about that too MissisCellophane 5's never get the good offers!

wonderingsoul Mon 25-Nov-13 12:10:13

the only thing i was really excited for was the big bang thoery in dvd, only £5 of so i put it back,

finger really crossed it will be back at a better price

Bumpsadaisie Mon 25-Nov-13 12:11:24

please can someone explain what I need to do!

Felyne Mon 25-Nov-13 12:17:26

Go to Amazon. Click on the banner that mentions Black Friday. It shows current deals, upcoming deals, etc. Click on something you like, and if the deal is on then you have a set amount of time to buy at that price. Once in your basket you have 15 minutes to pay. Check the lightning deal is mentioned on the product page before you add it to your basket, if the deal has just happened you might need to refresh to get new price. Buy as normal.

Marne Mon 25-Nov-13 12:18:25

< must not buy ukulele , must not buy ukulele > get out of my basket ukulele smile

I managed to get the Kipling purse even though I don't need a new purse ( it's ok to have a spare isn't it?).

Ziggyzoom Mon 25-Nov-13 12:20:42

Click on the Black Friday icon on the homepage. Scroll through the upcoming deals until you spot what you fancy. Keep an eye out at he specified time. I just add he item as soon as i can and then check the price. If you are happy with the offer, check out within 15mins.

Once 100% has been claimed you can go on a wait list, incase anyone opts out. Then once all of the sales go through, or he wait list is full - it shows unavailable.

Bumpsadaisie Mon 25-Nov-13 12:27:12

Thanks all

SisterMerror Mon 25-Nov-13 12:28:41

Marne, I'm on the waitlist for the purse but it says my chance is poor.

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 12:30:23

seriously tempted by the dog clipper set. never met a dog that sheds as much as BigPuppy. I'm drowning under a mound of soft white fluff

if I shaved him I wouldn't have to hoover so often.

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 12:31:57

Pig in 13 minutes.

FernArable Mon 25-Nov-13 12:32:14

Missed the Gruffalo's child because I clicked the wrong button, argh! Can't believe how quickly these deals go!

iseenodust Mon 25-Nov-13 12:33:12

AtYour Dyson sell an attachment to vacuum fur off your dog directly. I've not tried it but friend raves about it.

janeyjampot Mon 25-Nov-13 12:34:21

Do you think it's worth buying the window vac thing? I have one in my basket but once you've done that you can't see whether others are going for it or not, which would kind of help me to decide!

GlitteredPinecones Mon 25-Nov-13 12:36:51

Managed to get the ever exciting wifi extender hmm Really need it though as the wifi only works in the living room and the dining room! I'll be able to MN all over the house now grin

JaquelineHyde Mon 25-Nov-13 12:38:07

Damn it I missed the bloody window vac. I blame naked pictures of Lorraine Kelly on the other thread.

SisterMerror Mon 25-Nov-13 12:38:35

The window vac is really good janey. I bought one for my work a few months ago and it does a really good smear free job! I'd highly recommend it.

SisterMerror Mon 25-Nov-13 12:42:03

Is there a way to see your position on the waitlist after the initial window telling you your position when you join the list?

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 12:42:10

yes - we have a window vac. it's great (DH tells me it is anyway, I've never used it!)

janeyjampot Mon 25-Nov-13 12:42:49

Thank you!

janeyjampot Mon 25-Nov-13 12:43:30

I'm hoping that the introduction of technology will make it someone else's job. grin

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 12:45:59

Pig is £7.49.

Do I need a fake pig????? Do I????????????

I can't trust my judgement any more. I think I need it all!!!

TheOnlyPink Mon 25-Nov-13 12:47:10

There's nothing i want to buy until 2.15 for the le crusset (sp!) just hope I'm back from the school run!

SisterMerror Mon 25-Nov-13 12:49:17

I thought I might need a fake pig too but then I gave myself a good talking to and realised I don't grin

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 13:00:01

me too .i was strong and put the pig back.

I bloody am having that sad light though.

ClaimedByMe Mon 25-Nov-13 13:05:15

I am starting to feel sorry for the pig...

SisterMerror Mon 25-Nov-13 13:06:06

Poor pig

FriskyHenderson Mon 25-Nov-13 13:06:10

That Pig tells you all you need to know about Black Friday grin

I have bought and paid for 1 thing and dropped another. I think I might for the Nintendo 3ds later though.

FernArable Mon 25-Nov-13 13:14:17

A glimmer of hope, I was about 260 on the waitlist for the Gruffalos child and I got one. x

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 13:15:56

Urgh, I bet I get that pig for my birthday from my Uncle and a Aunt. I once mentioned quite liking a pig ornament when I was 9 and have received a hideous pig themed gift every year since!

downdownupdown Mon 25-Nov-13 13:16:00

wonderingsoul Mon 25-Nov-13 13:19:19

do i need a swish cheese plate.. i love the idea.. and quite like the funky cheese look... but i would rarely use it... but i want it...

ohhhh dear.

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 13:23:05

I do need a fake pig. I so hope it comes up again later this week.

WildThong Mon 25-Nov-13 13:24:29

I got the window vac - I'll have clean windows for Santa coming
then I'll never use it again

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 13:31:59

I'd love to get the dust buster. My old one (different make) has died and I used it loads. Depends on price though.

LowCarbHeaven Mon 25-Nov-13 13:33:43

I got one of those gruffalo shelves in homebase for £24.99. Think in some cases they bump up the prices in order for it to look like a better deal. Some things are good deals but underwhelmed today!

DisneyAddict88 Mon 25-Nov-13 13:38:40

so far have bought the grow your own chocolate flowers and the rocket dog boots... going to tell oh they were cheaper though!!! haha! and now waiting for the cat massage centre - oh thinks it would a great present for his mum.... hmm

Housemum Mon 25-Nov-13 13:43:52

They definitely tweak the prices to look better - the window vacs were £45 yesterday, they sold at £41 quoting a discount to the RRP of £60. Factually true, but not as mega a deal as it may look - so check the prices of stuff way before it goes live and decide what your maximum is - if it's less than that, then buy it! (EG I liked the look of the DAB sunlight clock/radio but set my personal limit of £50 amd it was more than that - I did buy the window vac, though, and hoping it's as good as the hype - I think it was an MN swears by buy last summer)

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 13:46:48

bugger. too much. 50% off and i'd have had it.

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 13:48:26

but bugger me - that pig is still in my basket. it's fate. i'm going to have to have it.

SisterMerror Mon 25-Nov-13 13:49:43

Quick, toss the pig out of the basket! It's taking up space where your SAD light should be grin

LegoAcupuncture Mon 25-Nov-13 13:52:33

I usually pop something into my basket then browse tinternet to see if it is indeed a bargain.

So far bought nothing.

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 13:55:32

one direction CD at 7pm.

LegoAcupuncture Mon 25-Nov-13 13:57:16

How long do they give you btw when you've got the item off the wish list? It's not very long iirc. Hoping for a gruffalo child, doubtful, but hoping.

poorbuthappy Mon 25-Nov-13 14:00:35

So far got, Hello Kitty clip lights, and TBBT box set, which has already been dispatched!

QueenofallIsee Mon 25-Nov-13 14:01:57

I am happy as have managed to get Fifa 14 ultimate edition for PS3 for 29.99!

DisneyAddict88 Mon 25-Nov-13 14:04:07

stupid computer the button didnt appear for the home phone and now waitlist is full sad and we needed a new one aswell!!! although did get the cat massage centre!

Housemum Mon 25-Nov-13 14:05:56

You get about 10-15mins, so just click immediately then think! Just chucked satnav back out of basket - v good price for it (£100 for a Garmin UK/Europe) but remembered DS getting a new company car in May with a satnav!

I have bought the window vac and a clothes airer - my life rocks grin

Housemum Mon 25-Nov-13 14:08:57
DGLLB Mon 25-Nov-13 14:11:48

just got DD disneys brave for £5.99 smile

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 14:17:32

Well the black and decker vac is in my basket but not really cheap enough so i think i will have to let it go sad

Housemum Mon 25-Nov-13 14:21:19

Just bought a dustbuster handheld vac. I'm beginning to sound like one of those obsessive compulsive cleaners now...

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 14:23:51

took the dustbuster out of my basket.

the pig is still in there confused

SisterMerror Mon 25-Nov-13 14:28:43

I just added dustbuster to my basket too. I'm kidding myself that it will make me clean my car out more often because I won't have to lug the big vacuum cleaner out to the car. Who am I kidding! I might have to toss it out of the basket.

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 14:29:07

I've taken it out of my basket.

Pogosticks Mon 25-Nov-13 14:32:11

FWIW I have a rotating dustbuster like that, I fecking hate it, my old fixed one was tons better.

Just bought Brave though.

Housemum Mon 25-Nov-13 14:32:23

I do clean my car reasonably often, and lug the cleaner outside hoping it won't roll down the hill that is our driveway - so not much need to justify for me!
I would have nightmares about that pig. It looks evil.

SisterMerror Mon 25-Nov-13 14:32:55

Me too now Tortoise. I decided it'll do me good to lug the vacuum cleaner around. more exercise! Also, I can't really justify the cost.

EustaciaVye Mon 25-Nov-13 14:33:41

The monster high PW journal is a good deal. Dd wants it but she already has a normal one so I can't justify it....

WaitMonkey Mon 25-Nov-13 14:48:44

I've just bought the monster High diary. Only my second Black Friday purchase today. blush

GreatSoprendo Mon 25-Nov-13 14:58:16

Black Friday novice here.
Does stuff that I've missed tend to come up again later in the week?
And are there deals running 24/7 or do they start again in the morning?

SoupDragon Mon 25-Nov-13 15:36:40

The start again in the morning. Some stuff does keep appearing throughout the week, yes.

GlitteredPinecones Mon 25-Nov-13 16:56:03

Argh do I get the laser hair removal thing? I have pcos so am very hairy... It's in my basket for 4 more minutes and I can't decide!

FriskyHenderson Mon 25-Nov-13 16:59:24

If I miss the 3DSXL today, will it be on at a better deal later in the week?

minsmum Mon 25-Nov-13 17:16:54

I have got the kipling purse and want to bid on an xbox game later

GreatSoprendo Mon 25-Nov-13 17:17:47

Thanks soupdragon - I'm sitting it out for a Megabloks table this evening, although will need to be a good deal as Boots already sell it for £10 less than Amazon.

Rosa Mon 25-Nov-13 17:28:11

Well started today thinking there was nothing that I would go for .... Wrong!!! V tech laptop and hair removal thingy ...better step away incase I get tempted again!!!

blibblibs Mon 25-Nov-13 17:28:12

Sorry this may have already been done but I thought this started on friday?
I've missed a whole day sad

schilke Mon 25-Nov-13 17:31:20

I have a nintendo 3dsxl in my basket. I stopped myself before going through checkout. Already got dd2 a furby boom, so does not need this. I sort of get carried away...

WildThong Mon 25-Nov-13 17:31:57

Ooh bugger, just noticed on the missed deals the Nespresso, that would have been a good buy....

wonderingsoul Mon 25-Nov-13 18:10:54

you havnt missed much. the only good deal was the coffee machine imo

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 18:10:57

I've bought some stuff.

a shirt for H
pens for D1
sunglasses for me/a sister

The pig has finally gone from my basket.

hoppingmad Mon 25-Nov-13 18:17:23

I bought a DustBuster blush. I couldn't resist even though it wasn't a great reduction - I NEED one!
I also bought a ps3 controller thingy - it seemed an ok price against tesco & play and dh tells me the console only comes with 1 controller (ds is getting it for Christmas). Have already bought the console so hope a good deal doesn't come up on that!

TheCurseOfFenric Mon 25-Nov-13 18:20:52

have you seen how many deals are set to start at 7pm confused

are the items jumping around for anyone else once they go 'live'? or is there something up with my computer? once the deal is live, if I refresh, or move away from the page and back again, the deals are no longer in the same order - makes it very confusing to see if any new items hav been sneaked in (as often happens), or even to find the ones I want ot have a go at!

DisneyAddict88 Mon 25-Nov-13 18:22:31

hoppingmad my oh told me it was a good deal too and it includes playstation + which u can download games from (usually £11.99 for 3 months) oh has downloaded a couple so far and only had it a month. also means he hasnt wanted to buy any new games smile

CointreauVersial Mon 25-Nov-13 18:22:59

Darn it - has it started already?

That'll be my lunch breaks for the next few days taken care of.

I shall hopefully be buying my annual cheap copy of Norton Antivirus.

DisneyAddict88 Mon 25-Nov-13 18:23:45

i know seems a crazy amount... and some have disappeared im sure there was more for 6.30 and 6.45 earlier! cant remember what they were but im sure they were there!

hoppingmad Mon 25-Nov-13 18:35:42

Glad it seems like a good price. I got the console from argos and sold the games that came with it on eBay so ended up <£150 for the 500gb. I'm happy with the price, am going to watch what price the one is this evening anyway though

LegoAcupuncture Mon 25-Nov-13 18:43:25

The 3ds xl is a great price. Wish I needed one.

Anyone know what day they're doing the toys?

Bought the monster high diary, £15 is a bargain!

Housemum Mon 25-Nov-13 18:43:41

3DS XL still there now - seems a good price, cheapest I've seen elsewhere £150 console only this has game preloaded I think

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 19:04:41

Wahh! What happened to the 1D CD?

hoppingmad Mon 25-Nov-13 19:04:44

Did anyone get the 1d cd? Mine seemed to have a glitch and now just says deal over?

Nerfmother Mon 25-Nov-13 19:05:08

What happened to the 1d cd?

XmasBargainHunter Mon 25-Nov-13 19:06:47

What happened to the 1D cd?

TheOnlyPink Mon 25-Nov-13 19:07:23

Tried to get the Joni Mitchell boxset, by the time it loaded it was 100% claimed and waitlist full. Really hope that comes back, its not even that great of a saving, but I was going to buy it full price so a fiver off is even better!

HoneyDragon Mon 25-Nov-13 19:15:17

The bastards did the same last year angry

Nerfmother Mon 25-Nov-13 19:16:54

It's just vanished now!

cookiejam Mon 25-Nov-13 19:19:20

What happend to the 1D cd? I needed that!

cookiejam Mon 25-Nov-13 19:20:15

It's gone to the missed list!

RaRayRay Mon 25-Nov-13 19:23:46

Was waiting on the 1D cd and now it just says 0% claimed deal over what is that all about. Annoyed angry

FudgeyCookie Mon 25-Nov-13 19:23:58

So annoyed!! had the Editors album (exclusive amazon signed copy!) in my basket, on my way to checkout (was adding card details with 7 minutes left!!) had 4 minutes left when I clicked place my order. Then, it was unaviable, while it still aviable(sp? i cant spell that word tonight!)

gah, i needed that for my mum!

hmc Mon 25-Nov-13 19:29:14

I hope dh is impressed with his 3 pack of Bjorn Borg boxer shorts grin

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 19:43:59

I don't remember it happening lady year, I got 2 1D CD's last time.

HoneyDragon Mon 25-Nov-13 20:01:56

It wasn't the cd last year. Can't remember what it was. But popular item. Same glitch. Then then claimed it had sold out before the deal went out but it was an item that couldn't be purchased before the deal like the 1D cd.

FudgeyCookie Mon 25-Nov-13 20:01:57

Just looked at the missed list and CD I had in my basket was only 75% claimed!! grr. are they likely to come back again?

FriskyHenderson Mon 25-Nov-13 20:03:38

I am using Camelcamelcamel to convince myself these are genuine deals blush

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 20:04:40

I tried to get the Ditors CD but it wouldn't let me claim it it just kept clicking to the wait list but I couldn't join that either confused

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 20:05:03

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 20:08:45

I haven't bought anything yet. If I had more money I would have got a few bits.

hoppingmad Mon 25-Nov-13 20:19:06

Ooh the ps3 was a good price hmm. Ah well, pc is so slow I'd probably have missed it anyway

I have Ghost in my basket but can't remember how it smells, just that I liked it - thinking about it for MIL

GlitteredPinecones Mon 25-Nov-13 20:20:15

There's another playstation coming on tomorrow smile

FudgeyCookie Mon 25-Nov-13 20:23:56

Glad I'm not the only one notso it was only 75% or so claimed anyway, when it came up after i tried to place my order it said join waiting list so i did, then said it was saved for later, but wouldnt move it to my basket!

wonderingsoul Mon 25-Nov-13 20:25:57

there a wii u game on.. what are the chance of of a wii u coming up i wondeR?

I'm back smile

Thanks for your message, glitter smile

What did the DustBuster go for? I was only nagging DH for one of those the other day.

I have the dentist tomorrow morning, fine week I'm having hmm Should be here in the afternoon though smile

notso Mon 25-Nov-13 20:26:28

It's frustrating angry isn't it. Missed out on the cheap Jools Hooland for my Dad as well.

AtYourCervix Mon 25-Nov-13 20:33:43

Dustbuster was £42.

I have a few things for pressies. And Panorama is on. I'm refusing to let it spoil my enjoyment.

ginmakesitallok Mon 25-Nov-13 20:36:49

I've just bought a Kipling bag I don't really need and want the fly boots coming up in 9 mins.....

EustaciaVye Mon 25-Nov-13 20:42:35

jungleninja is a good site to track amazon prices

ginmakesitallok Mon 25-Nov-13 20:51:10

I got my boots! £42 , bargain!

Thanks cervix smile

I wonder if anyone will get bored and try and guilt trip us into boycotting amazon again this year. I have my response all ready grin

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 21:22:26

I hoping for some monster high dolls. DD2 has suddenly decided she wants some!

dandelionsRflowers Mon 25-Nov-13 21:23:59

Put the Disney game into my basket, went to check out, forgot about delivery. Tried to join Amazon Prime for a months free trial but it says I'm not eligible. I think I joined for Black Friday last year so I've already had the trial. angry bang goes any cheap bargains for me this year.

wonderingsoul Mon 25-Nov-13 21:27:39

iv just watched it and felt incredablly guilty, and tbh it has put me off it. i felt so bad for the guy undercover.

deffintly opened my eyes.

DisneyAddict88 Mon 25-Nov-13 21:31:31

I ordered the fly boots too (aswell as rocket dogs earlier) oh is going to kill me!!blush considering I only bought some dr martens a few months ago! although they are really uncomfortable need wearing in so need boots to alternate right?!?! grin

oh dear... must get cheap ps3 game to butter him up!!

Tortoise Mon 25-Nov-13 21:34:32

I want the kettle that's coming up tomorrow and maybe the squirrel dog toy lol. DS2 14 wants the Bluetooth speaker and some headphones. DS1 16 wants battlefields 4 on pc. They like getting their orders in!

Happiestinwellybobs Tue 26-Nov-13 06:27:26

Got my email from amazon saying the playmobil small school is one of today's deals, but no mention of it on the amazon website - any ideas?

Rosa Tue 26-Nov-13 06:29:56

Happiest I have come on to ask the same thing......maybe it will pop up somewehere along the day.

Happiestinwellybobs Tue 26-Nov-13 06:31:34

Hoping so... Have bought enough for DD for Christmas (thanks to the bargain thread!) but looking at this for her birthday.

It's on my amazon app, don't know whether to go for it or not! It is£70odd at the moment...

LongStripedScarfWearer Tue 26-Nov-13 06:58:59

I haven't seen which Playmobil school it is, but can put it in context for you.

The large Playmobil school was one of the early bargain-thread bargains, back in August or September I think, and I paid £39.99 from Argos, down from over £100.

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 07:10:08

I think I want the wooden bluetooth speaker... just doing my research first.

FernArable Tue 26-Nov-13 07:49:01

Small playmobil school is coming on at 8.30pm

Rosa Tue 26-Nov-13 07:54:26

Thank you .dd is into the fairies so not sure if it is worth it - will see what it goes for . amazonde is doing a similar kind of thing but think its a bit much to monitor both!!!

WaitMonkey Tue 26-Nov-13 07:59:21

So what did happen to the 1D cd ?

Damn. I clicked on sewing for Dummies straight away but I'm on the waiting list. How do I find out what number I am?

BoohPear Tue 26-Nov-13 08:08:42

I'm hoping to get battlefield for the PC for DH and he's coveting the gaming mouse that's on tonight.

Right, must now go and stare at the amazon pages for the next 7 minutes so I don't miss it!

SueSueHeck Tue 26-Nov-13 08:09:53

Theone it usually tells you what number you are when you click and also your chances of getting the item.

I was 248th with a good chance for something yesterday and I got it. I was also 26th with a poor chance and didn't get it. It depends how many they are flogging. Stay in your pc though, I was luck and only noticed my first item with 2 mins to spare.

Thank you SueSue. It's just let me have it so I've still got no idea what number I was. Not that it matters now. Free delivery too. grin

Chelvis Tue 26-Nov-13 08:25:04

I was 160th on the wait list with Star Trek Original series complete set yesterday and got it! It took 25 mins sitting at the computer refreshing, then it just popped up with a message to add to basket within 2 mins 30 sec to get it, so it's well worth hanging on and crossing your fingers if it's what you (or in my case, DH) really want.

I'm interested in the Hobbit and Friends 1-10 today, but probably shouldn't!

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 08:27:55

I missed a couple of wait list items yesterday as the message didn't appear until the time had expired.

BoohPear Tue 26-Nov-13 08:31:30

I got battlefield. Had to refresh my screen though as the button didn't just appear.

Anyone looking at the toddler rocker coming up in a bit, it was £36 a couple of days ago as I had it in my basket before getting some 3 for 2 stuff from kiddiecare instead, the price has gone up by a tenner for this.

Sleepybunny Tue 26-Nov-13 08:34:52

What's the toddler rocker thing?

Thank you LongStriped, I will bear that in mind when I decide later! I think it will be about £30odd. But it could be worth waiting until next year for the big one as I wouldn't be getting it for this Christmas.

Can someone remember what price the rocket dog boots are, I will be in the dentists chair at that time, so won't be able to go for them sad just want to see if they go down enough and I suppose it's one that they could reduce again later in the week.

BoohPear Tue 26-Nov-13 08:40:23

It's on at half 10 from fisher price. A rocking chair you can use from birth to about 3.

BlueLagoonz Tue 26-Nov-13 08:43:41

What about books?

Sleepybunny Tue 26-Nov-13 08:45:20

Thanks BooPear

Sleepybunny Tue 26-Nov-13 08:49:32

Holy crap you have to be fast! Just tried to get a bird feeder and it's sold within seconds! I'm on the waiting list, 81st and chances are poor apparently!

Right, I'm putting the kettle on. It's browsing time

AtYourCervix Tue 26-Nov-13 08:52:33

Morning all.

another sad light for me at 3.15 but i'm going to be in a meeting. hope it'll come up another day.

apart from that a few stocking bits like CDs on my list for today.

happy shopping grin

AtYourCervix Tue 26-Nov-13 08:57:01

DD1 has her driving test today. I'm more nervous for her than I was for my own. I will have to suppress it with shopping.

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 09:06:50

I have been far more discerning this year so far. I had the wooden speaker in my shopping bag and removed it.

dandelionsRflowers Tue 26-Nov-13 09:11:09

Don't know whether to buy the dvd player or not.

Sleepybunny Tue 26-Nov-13 09:14:25

I got the feeder! Even though my chances were poor. Well chuffed. Free delivery yeeeeeessssssss. Step aside Santa, I am on a roll this year!

WaitMonkey Tue 26-Nov-13 09:18:37

Nothing of interest for me today. sad

Tortoise Tue 26-Nov-13 09:19:46

Got battlefield on pc for ds1.
There's a few little bits I like the look of today.
Atyourcervix Hope your DDs driving test goes well.

BeedlesPineNeedles Tue 26-Nov-13 09:21:09

I'm tempted by the bluray player coming up at 11 but the reviews look a bit rubbish. Other than that I don't think I've seen anything I want. Though if I had known yesterday that I would consider buying a bluray player I would have got the fringe on bluray - I shall just have to hope it comes up on dvd later in the week.

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 09:21:14

Morning everyone. I wonder if they'll add the pig again today! Poor pig.

I'm hoping that the Phillips sunrise light will be a good price at 9.45am. I also might go for the AA car kit for a gift if it's cheap enough.

Housemum Tue 26-Nov-13 09:29:01

I always think there's nothing I need but have now got loads of tabs open to remind me of the times - here goes another wasted day off... (Not sure how I'll cope having to work tomorrow and Thurs!)

notso Tue 26-Nov-13 09:48:14

I nearly bought the skip hop backpack and the Trunkie toy box but we don't need them so I put them back.

AtYourCervix Tue 26-Nov-13 09:49:27

did you get the light SisterM? I like the thought of waking up slowly.

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 09:52:35

It's in my basket AtYourCervix. I'm just reading a couple more reviews before I buy it. It's more expensive than I hoped it would be.

FriskyHenderson Tue 26-Nov-13 09:52:59

I am coming to realise that I am exactly the mug that these sorts of sales are designed for grin

Tortoise Tue 26-Nov-13 09:58:17

Bloody hell, that dog toy went quick. I missed out while looking at size options!
Reminds me of the flying jacket I bought for my dog a few years ago! grin

There's 2 kettles today. Not sure which one to go for. Ones a Brita filter kettle, not keen on the idea of having to buy filters for it.

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 10:01:22

Oh me too Frisky!

I just bought the light. I don't sleep very well and often spend hours during the night lying awake unable to get back to sleep. I then fall asleep just an hour or two before I'm due to get up and then find it difficult to wake when I need to because I'm so tired. Maybe the light will help me to wake up more gently and if it does it will be worth every penny!

LittleMissGreen Tue 26-Nov-13 10:01:42

Very pleased, just got adopt a dinosaur for DS3 who is dinosaur mad. Would never have paid full price for it!

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 10:05:14

I think the Brita one looks good tortoise. Buying filters might be a pain though.

Tortoise Tue 26-Nov-13 10:09:10

I'm guess the filter only needs changing if you want filtered water, but I haven't got a clue really! It's already pretty good price and I do need a new one.

AtYourCervix Tue 26-Nov-13 10:09:18

I got the dog toy grin I'd love a flying jacket for him but doubt the come in that size (huge).

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 10:14:19

I joined the wait list for the dog toy but SoupDoggyDogg will surely just shred it...!

Tortoise Tue 26-Nov-13 10:17:18

I'm hoping the dog toy is back on later in the week.
The flying jacket is cute but Slightly too big!
Kettle in basket, can't decide! Was hoping for a bit more off than that!

Tortoise Tue 26-Nov-13 10:19:06

If I check out now then decide the other ones better value later, I'm guessing I can cancel the order?

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 10:20:17

Dog toy in basket... Yay or nay?

mirpuppet Tue 26-Nov-13 10:20:28

Very hard to cancel with Amazon as they tend to ship immediately.

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 10:21:37

They might ship it straight away Tortoise. You could always return it though.

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 10:22:09

Go for the dog toy! Your dog deserves it grin

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 10:22:43

^ that was to SoupDragon

Tortoise Tue 26-Nov-13 10:23:05

If you haven't checked out within the time limit the price goes back to normal doesn't it?
8 mins to decide lol.

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 10:24:30

But he eats blankets.

AtYourCervix Tue 26-Nov-13 10:26:35

he'll enjoy a change of flavour then grin

antimatter Tue 26-Nov-13 10:26:54

lots of people are using sniping tools - I thought those weren't allowed....

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 10:31:02

Not convinced that the large one is big enough for a cocker spaniel.

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 10:33:55

Deleted it from my basket - I think he's happier with a cardboard box stuffed with treats!

I did buy the Shrink Art kit for a future birthday present.

thegreylady Tue 26-Nov-13 10:36:24

I managed to get a good deal on a Garmin sat nav. Our old one is very outdated and upgrades are very expensive. The deal sold out in 3 minutes but I was waiting with finger poised. That is dh's Christmas present sorted.

Tortoise Tue 26-Nov-13 10:37:34

I got the shrink art jewellery. Hope DD1 will like that.
Left the kettle. The one I wanted from Argos is same price minus britta filter!

Ziggyzoom Tue 26-Nov-13 10:39:42

I'm on the wait list for skiwear. Anyone know how it works - how do they alert me if I'm back in with an option to buy?

Sleepybunny Tue 26-Nov-13 10:46:20

A message will pop up on your screen ziggy. You may have to refresh if you're on a PC. Pops up on the iPad though.
You only get a couple mins to respond to the message and add to basket, if you miss it, you may have to try getting on the waiting list again.

ClaimedByMe Tue 26-Nov-13 10:53:12

I have bought earrings and the shrink art thing for dd.

I am now eyeing up the ironing board and the fancy toaster...

Housemum Tue 26-Nov-13 10:53:55

Keep watching - you don't have long to put it in the basket if it comes back on (ie someone else has kicked it out of their basket) - I'm waiting for a ski jacket too smile

Ziggyzoom Tue 26-Nov-13 10:55:35

Yeah - got the ski jacket and what I think are matchin salopettes!

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 11:07:06

I just got the Moleskine diary for £3. I love the Moleskine stuff. It'll be a stocking filler for DD smile

AtYourCervix Tue 26-Nov-13 11:12:14

DD just passed her driving test grin hurrah!

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 11:13:21

Congratulations to your DD AtYourCervix! I bet she feels great smile

hoppingmad Tue 26-Nov-13 11:14:40

Yay grin congratulations to her - now the worrying really starts though

Just bought an overpriced Santa's pants set for pil and a cute bookset.
I need to stop buying crap though!

AtYourCervix Tue 26-Nov-13 11:17:44

d I bought a carpet cleaner!

I didn't realise it had already started, buggering bugger! Last's years threads about it were better than the deals.

Yay for your DD Cervix

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 11:24:00

Hurrah! Now, is there car insurance on Amazon...?

TheArticFunky Tue 26-Nov-13 11:30:22

I saved over £100 on ds's main pressie. I never seem to get bargains so feeling very pleased with myself.

antimatter Tue 26-Nov-13 11:31:03

Brabantia bin was a good buy methinks grin

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 11:33:28

What did you buy for him Artic?

Housemum Tue 26-Nov-13 11:33:31

Yes! Got my pressure washer - kept missing out on the Karcher ones last year smile

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 11:34:42

Nice one Housemum smile

I'm after anything Star Wars, Lego, Wii or DS. Not seen anything coming up yet though.

Housemum Tue 26-Nov-13 11:42:41

They had a white 3DS XL yesterday preloaded with Mario Kart for £130, might come up again? Not seen Wii or Lego.

iseenodust Tue 26-Nov-13 11:43:09

Got the cricket pads for DS for xmas. Pleased as good brand.

Housemum Tue 26-Nov-13 11:43:35

This has to be today's weirdest offering due later!

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 11:44:46

The had the Lego "Brick Builder" books yesterday - last year these kept popping up all week so it's worth checking.

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 11:45:12

(I love that photo frame! grin)

Well done to Cervix's DD grinthanks

Soupy - wasn't it you who bought a mattress and TV last year?! If so, you are being remarkably restrained this year grin

Annoying that I missed those Oliver Jeffries books, they would make a good stocking filler or spare for the present cupboard.

The boots weren't reduced by very much, they were £35 when I looked earlier, so not much of a saving!

NewBlueCoat Tue 26-Nov-13 11:53:31

I'm finding I'm not as interested in the big items this year, but am mopping up a few stocking fillers for dh (and finding extra toys that dd1 would like, but doesn't actually need as have already bought her presents!)

notso Tue 26-Nov-13 11:59:42

Have I missed that frame? I wanted to put a picture of DH in and have fun creating hairstyles for him!

Tortoise Tue 26-Nov-13 12:06:37

Well done to your DD Atyourcervix.

Love the photo frame but wouldn't buy it.
I was tempted by the camera for DS2 but he wants a Hudl and tv as well and I don't think he will end up using the camera much.

AtYourCervix Tue 26-Nov-13 12:17:22

Do I need a chainsaw?

you never know when it will come in handy.

AtYourCervix Tue 26-Nov-13 12:20:05

the frame is at 4.15. so hope i'm back by then grin

Hmm, just looked on camel for the remote control car thingies coming up at 12.30... They were sold for about £5ish in September! So would have to be as low as that to make it worth it...

notso Tue 26-Nov-13 12:23:15

Oh phew! I hope it works.

I do not need annoying at all and I am still being tempted in by stuff! grin

TheArticFunky Tue 26-Nov-13 12:23:29

It was a camera Sister. Reduced from £200 to £90.

riskit4abiskit Tue 26-Nov-13 12:29:35

We are after a steam cleaner if anyone spots a deal on those?

CointreauVersial Tue 26-Nov-13 13:00:51

The TP Link Extender on now is a bargain - we've got one and they're very good.

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 13:01:51

Soupy - wasn't it you who bought a mattress and TV last year?!

Almost - I bought a mattress (long overdue!) and took the TV out of my basket smile

Tortoise Tue 26-Nov-13 13:18:57

I wish I'd bought the tp extender. Maybe it will be back another day.

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 13:31:55

That sounds like a great deal Artic!

I just bought the Bomb Cosmetics Holly Days for my DD. I think she'll like it as she loves bath smellies. I got the other one yesterday for DD2.

Housemum Tue 26-Nov-13 13:33:33

Must. Step. Away. From. The. Computer.

AtYourCervix Tue 26-Nov-13 13:44:22

I just bought car insurance for DD and 12 months of tax for me.

Really must not buy anything else.

AtYourCervix Tue 26-Nov-13 13:45:59

The bomb smellies are nice. I get them every year for the Ds.

HoneyDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 13:58:23

I haven't bought a thing yet <<polishes halo>>

Me neither, Honey. Been tempted by a few things, but they've not gone low enough really.

yabbadabba Tue 26-Nov-13 14:18:47

I bought the Disney cars onesie for my son. I just had too. Now i need another one for the 5 year old so am hoping they have more during the week. He likes Spiderman and Batman.

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 14:19:35

My first thing has been delivered!

downdownupdown Tue 26-Nov-13 14:20:40

I also think the discounts have been rubbish

Nothing I fancy today but my Nespesso machine has just arrived just waiting on the intellichef thingumy grin

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 14:28:05

I'm very jealous of your nespresso! I had it in my basket but then put it back. I really want it don't need anymore coffee machines.

HoneyDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 14:28:08

I think the Monday lightening deals have ruined it. They have a lot more stuff than other years with much lower discounts. And more glitches.

I much preferred it when it started.

BoohPear Tue 26-Nov-13 14:47:50

We'll I have just bought a Nivea lip balm set that I don't need and signed up to amazon prime as they wanted to charge £6 delivery!

Does anyone know when I need to cancel the free trial?

HoneyDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 14:47:56

I'm not getting anything :-( is it a tablet issue or an amazon issue? Should I get myself to a pc?

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 14:53:41

BoohPear - I signed up for Prime just under a month ago and it's telling me now that they will charge me on the 28th. Underneath where it says that, there is a link for "Do not continue." So I assume I can cancel today or tomorrow.

BoohPear Tue 26-Nov-13 14:58:20

Brill, thanks Sister wasn't sure if they left it up to you to remember in which case I'd be better off canceling now!

GlitteredPinecones Tue 26-Nov-13 14:58:45

BoohPear, I signed up to prime yesterday and cancelled right away and it will still allow me to use it until the trial period is over.

There's nothing I fancy today. I'm hoping a decent tv will be on soon, that's all I need to buy really.

SisterMerror Tue 26-Nov-13 15:00:01

Booh - You have to go to "Manage your prime" or (however it's worded) to see that note with the date, but it'll be there whenever you need to check.

I cancelled prime as soon as I'd signed up too. Mine expires at the beginning of December smile I'm looking at the draper cabinet thingy in a minute, that would be good for DC's crafts or mine if not grin

Not been discounted much hmm not sure whether to get it...

I phoned and complained that some of my stuff was taking too long to be delivered on Prime last year and they gave me an extra month, just saying wink

ShinyBauble Tue 26-Nov-13 15:40:01

I might get the scratching post for my foster cat if the price is around £10, and I'm considering the toaster later. Does anyone have it? The one II have now has very narrow slots, it struggles with thick sliced bread so I want one that is more generous.

I got the draper cabinet. I was thinking about the cat post too, I had a look on camel and the lowest it has been is £14.22 before smile

It didn't go as low as that then!

Next on my list is the tangle teezer at 8.15, has anyone got any experience with them?

Not that I can work out how to use Nespesso machine and it only takes cups not the huge mugs I usually use. hmm

Hulababy Tue 26-Nov-13 15:55:07

Can fit most mugs and also the taller glass cups/mugs under our Nespresso machine.

The £70 off is somethig Nespresso often do - its done using the serial bar and receipt. Do it online via the Nespresso website. Don't forget you can get the black case free too.

I got that little MP3 player last year and it's cheaper now. It's quite good as it has a radio and timer.

downdownupdown Tue 26-Nov-13 15:59:51

Tangle teezers are brilliant. We have two and it makes such a difference when brushing dd's thick hair.

I might see what Wreck-It Ralph is going for. Got my babysitter a Bomb bath set last year, she loved it as all the stuff was in little vintage-style jars. It's a different one tonight though.

Thanks downdown, I have very thick, very wavy, hair and it is a nightmare, especially since DD likes to twiddle it hmm will try and go for that then smile

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 16:13:09

The Tangle TEaser is great on DDs hair - fine but lots of it and tangles easily.

Treadlightly Tue 26-Nov-13 16:49:35

oh no!I really wanted the wolf & I was too late! I'm 269 on the waiting list sad

GlitteredPinecones Tue 26-Nov-13 16:49:54

I was just thinking, there hasn't been any clues this year has there? I kind of miss them as they were a bit of fun hmm

SoupDragon Tue 26-Nov-13 16:50:53

I really wanted the wolf

Did you? Did you really? Or have you just convinced yourself that it's a bargain and you Must Have It?

dandelionsRflowers Tue 26-Nov-13 16:54:46

I'm rather disappointed yet still strangely addicted this year.

ClaimedByMe Tue 26-Nov-13 16:58:33

I am disappointed yet addicted too!

Yesterday I thought today would be better and today I keep think tomorrow it will get better before I know it the week will be over and I will have done nothing but check amazon and what has happened to the boxes with the 'cryptic' clues?

CarmonEileen Tue 26-Nov-13 17:00:09

Same here Honey, must try it on pc. it just circles when time goes to zero and then I get wait list optionssad

dandelionsRflowers Tue 26-Nov-13 17:02:25

I'm getting that on my laptop.

GoofyIsACow Tue 26-Nov-13 17:06:09

I am on the wait list for one of those sad lights... I bloody love lightning deals! I totally overspent after this thread two years ago, i still have a 'This morning olive oil and balsamic vinegar bottle set' boxed in the spare room!

I've worked out the Nespresso, it turns out I was putting the pod in wrong <ehem> blush

Treadlightly Tue 26-Nov-13 17:24:56

I just convinced myself soupdragon grin

I've been talking myself out of buying a new vax all day!

I miss the clues too, totally addicted to amazon.

I don't know how I'm going to cope at work tomorrow grin

Treadlightly Tue 26-Nov-13 17:28:13

I've got the wolf!!!!! It's in my basket!!!!!!

dh thinks I'm crazy

I really don't need the wolf ... but I want it!!!!!

sparkle101 Tue 26-Nov-13 17:35:09

Two days in and i may have spent too much already. Have bought a watch, a bracelet, nappies and a trunkie. We have no plans to go on holiday anytime soon and nowhere to store it but I just can't resist what appears to be a bargain.....

Another Amazon Black Friday addict signing in.

I've been much better than last year.

I bought the megablocks CAT table yesterday but cancelled it after reading bad reviews.

I've just bought the weighing scales as I actually needed some.

I'm hoping for an ear thermometer to come up and also a gift idea for DH.

DisneyAddict88 Tue 26-Nov-13 18:05:46

havent seen anything i want today... really wanted the sewing for dummies but missed it as was trying to convince dd to get dressed for school whilst chasing the little one to get her in the shower!!!

am in all day tomorrow so hopefully its better deals then grin
