A 1950s style retro frilly aprons in an ironic fabric - roses with skulls or similar.

Or would you smile politely and think WTF.

I think I need opinions which are not mine before I bulk order fabric for my mates!

TheYoniWayIsUp Sun 30-Jun-13 18:46:59

I'd love it!

Bunbaker Sun 30-Jun-13 18:48:14

Erm, no.

Yes, I'd like it!

MoDiddly Sun 30-Jun-13 19:05:18

Would love a home made pinny but roses with skulls hmm ?! Not to everyone's taste I would have thought.

TheJiminyConjecture Sun 30-Jun-13 19:08:07

I'd be in the wtf camp I think. I'd laugh when I opened it but wouldn't use it. Then would feel bad charity shopping it because it was homemade...

LineRunner Sun 30-Jun-13 19:10:15

Not the skulls.

Would love it if in tartan, or roses with strange looking fairies, or just totally retro original 50s.

Sorry if that sounds mad.

OvO Sun 30-Jun-13 19:11:04

I'd love it.

insertsomethingwitty Sun 30-Jun-13 19:12:03

I'd love it.

I think I`d rather like it, even if I just hung it on a knob (not dh grin)

Would love an apron in retro style but no no no to skulls.

smallandimperfectlyformed Sun 30-Jun-13 19:24:20

I would love it - depends on what your friends like though xxx

Yama Sun 30-Jun-13 19:24:40

I'd love it.

Startail Sun 30-Jun-13 19:24:48

Proper apron with a top, yes. Skulls no, that would go straight to the charity shop.

Skulls give me the creeps. No skull clothing is allowed (fortunately I have DDs).

smallandimperfectlyformed Sun 30-Jun-13 19:25:05

Oops, put kisses - that's something not to be done on Mumsnet!

ITCouldBeWorse Sun 30-Jun-13 19:26:33

Ah, as ever I walk the marmite line!

So maybe some in traditional floral, some with skulls or something equally daft?

For traditional - flowers? Cupcakes (I know!), anchors?

And for the WTFkers, a bottle of wine?

LineRunner Sun 30-Jun-13 19:28:03

How about 'You come on back to Stepford soon now, y'hear!'

cocolepew Sun 30-Jun-13 19:33:11

No, but I don't use an apron. I'd like it as a tea towel though. Or a cushion cover.

MikeLitoris Sun 30-Jun-13 19:36:02

I would love one with that skull pattern.

I seem to have a bit of a collection of skull scarves

TeaOneSugar Sun 30-Jun-13 19:40:38

I'd love it if it's was properly retro, wouldn't be keen on the skulls.

I like a pretty apron for baking, and a plain one for cleaning.

I no domestic goddess but I like to look like one.

Onesleeptillwembley Sun 30-Jun-13 19:41:01

Honestly? No. Marmite type of thing.

Yep, love it. Though, surely you know your friends tastes better than strangers on the internet?!

Snog Sun 30-Jun-13 19:50:47

Don't like pinnys or skulls so it would go in my charity shop bag
Your mates might be cooler than me thought grin

LowLevelWhinging Sun 30-Jun-13 19:54:12

Home made - yes, LOVE it

Quirky fabric - yes

Pinny - no. Never wear em and I love to cook.

I'd love a shopping tote or make up bag or something though.

I'd love it and have q friend who probably has one. By the way, if you are my friend, please make one for me! smile

But I can think of many other friends who wouldn't like it.

buildingmycorestrength Sun 30-Jun-13 20:03:06

Look at the Ulster Weavers collection on Amazon for lovely ideas of a popular take on this idea...might help.

Nishky Sun 30-Jun-13 20:07:01

I would love it with the skills.

Nishky Sun 30-Jun-13 20:07:15

DearlyDepartedMrsFinch Sun 30-Jun-13 20:10:07

I would love it with the skulls. Homemade is a lovely idea.

MollyBerry Sun 30-Jun-13 20:15:25

Omg those skulls are creepy, no. Like the Christmas one though!

NeverTooManyCats Wed 10-Jul-13 11:41:45

love me some skulls! I would love this as a present!

EDMNWiganSalfordandBlackpool Wed 10-Jul-13 12:03:39

"Skulls give me the creeps. No skull clothing is allowed (fortunately I have DDs)." startail

That did not work out for me, dds favourite hoodie has skulls all over it hmm

SquidgyMummy Wed 10-Jul-13 12:10:45

The skull fabric you linked to is vair creepy.
I do however like this retro fabric on your site.
Still ironic, and perhaps with a trim in a simpler fabric? polka dots / gingham etc.

As you are going to so much trouble to make something, it would be lovely that people would want it on show use it.
