pecans Fri 30-Nov-12 11:42:27

Mine is getting a bike without stabilisers, which I am hoping she can learn to ride. She will also get Lego Friends dog show, which was £20 and cheaper than the stables, and some other things.

Angel - Argos have mini lalaloopsy £5.99 buy one get one free.
And the entertainer have good deals on the cars which I got for both my girls.

Dancergirl Fri 30-Nov-12 12:31:32

Bike's a great idea! Have actually thinking about an Isla bike for a while now and there are some on Ebay that are near enough for me to collect.

Dancergirl Fri 30-Nov-12 12:38:32

Like the look of Lego Friends too, maybe that will wean dd off Polly Pocket!

The Treehouse set says from 6+, does anyone have this one and is it ok for a 5 year old?

armani Fri 30-Nov-12 13:29:34

My dd has -
iPod touch
Elc dolls mansion
Collection of elc rosie dolls

Glittertwins Fri 30-Nov-12 13:52:11

Dancer, we're getting an Isla bike each for their birthday hence the smaller Christmas presents.

AngelOne Fri 30-Nov-12 13:57:07

Ooooo thanks for the tip boringnamechange smile

Dancergirl Fri 30-Nov-12 14:11:24

Are you getting new or second hand glitter? I've been watching a few on Ebay but some of them are going for nearly as much as a new one!

Glittertwins Fri 30-Nov-12 14:13:44

We're going to get new. We will part-ex them back to Isla when they get outgrown, providing they are in a good condition.

Dancergirl Fri 30-Nov-12 14:22:56

That's good, I didn't know Isla did that! Dd is between sizes but I spoke to them and they recommended the cnoc 16. She'll grow out of it quicker than the next one up (Benin?) but it will be easier for her to ride initially.

Glittertwins Fri 30-Nov-12 14:27:06

Same here on the bike sizes. But since speaking to Isla, DD is now much more confident on the bike and she has just reached the lowest point of the small Benin. DS is a little shorter but again, by their birthday, he should be okay. I was really impressed with Isla not trying the hard sell on me.

Apologies for slight thread hijack OP.

Happypiglet Fri 30-Nov-12 14:28:44

DD is 6 in July and is getting
A beinn 20 Isla bike as she needs gears to keep with the rest us

Dancergirl Fri 30-Nov-12 14:28:44

No probs! I hadn't thought of getting dd the bike as her main present - it was just something we were going to get her at some point.

2cats2many Fri 30-Nov-12 14:29:07

izzyishavingababyAGAIN Fri 30-Nov-12 15:03:32

Boots have an amazing deal on the Playmobil Grand Mansion, I have bought for DDs 4th birthday/next christmas

grande mansion

Then if you bump your spend up to £100 I found a code for £15 off if you spend £100, also cash back with Quidco and free delivery.

So I have bought the mansion, 3 extra furniture sets (3 for 2), got 3.5% cash back and £11.20 in clubcard point, which I am going to use to get some more furniture for the house.

Total spend £95 minus (11.20 advantage points)

The discount code definitely works with all the 3 for 2s etc, I used it this morning, but the site I got it from says that it runs out today.

actiongirl1978 Fri 30-Nov-12 18:10:20

I am definitely not shopping anymore....!

Her stocking will have the obligatory chocolate, satsuma, toothbrush, magic flannel, character socks and the Olivia Rainbow doll (mascot for the Rainbow pack she belongs to)

fuckwittery Sat 01-Dec-12 09:41:01

walkie talkies to play with together
fairy scene playmobil
lego friends treehouse
Ogo Bild Pod Construction Set and some pretty fabric to make a den
sticky mosaics
the complete little miss library (book people special, only 20 quid! she has the mr men library for her 3rd birthday and there's still not a week go by when we don't read some, she is starting to be able to read them herself now, she is going to love this present).

spookysal Sat 01-Dec-12 20:41:07

fuckwittery - Ogo Bild Pod Construction Set looks great for making dens. Have you heard good reviews about it

Thanks OohMrDarcy, that's exactly what I was thinking of. Will keep an eye on the price and hope it drops again.

Farm Jigsaw
Shrinkies/sprinkles set - those key ring things that you put in the oven.

I'm a bit worried that she has too much though- she has twice as many presents as my 2 year old. I may leave out the Lego. Plus relatives always buy her lots of stuff too.

fuckwittery Sat 01-Dec-12 21:17:01

spookysal, I'm planning to get it out the box and try it out, as I'm actually thinking that 2 sets might be better so they can build big enough dens (DD1 obsessed with den building at present). I will let you know.

ChristmasSALutations Sat 01-Dec-12 21:57:50

Thanks fuckwittery smile My dds are also keen den builders!

Dancergirl Mon 03-Dec-12 14:08:56

Right I'm sorted! smile

I bid for an Isla bike on Ebay this weekend but the price went right up to over 165 pounds and a new one is 200.

So today I phoned Isla bikes and have ordered her a pink one! Feel a bit guilty about the money with her other presents but hopefully she will get a lot of use out of it and I can always sell it on Ebay when she outgrows it.

I'm hoping it also might inspire her can't ride, won't ride 9 year old sister!

Glittertwins Mon 03-Dec-12 19:59:52

You went for the croc then?

Dancergirl Tue 04-Dec-12 23:34:00

Yup, cnoc 16 I think it is.

Ordered yesterday and Isla said it would arrive within a week. It arrived TODAY! How's that for customer service?
