I've not received an email yet, despite signing up to delivery saver. Just called up Tesco though and emails are going out today. However, I logged on to the website and the slots are now there for booking. My order for Christmas is now booked. Phew!

Get them while you can.

Thanks Queeg!

No email here either.

Queeg Mon 26-Nov-12 12:08:23

Squirted, try logging on and looking anyway like I did. You might see them there regardless. Good luck!

ClaimedByMe Mon 26-Nov-12 12:13:13

Thank you thank you! I have just booked mine smile

Beanbagz Mon 26-Nov-12 12:18:46

Just logged on but it's only giving slots up until the 16th December. Will keep an eye on it though. Thanks!

Got mine too - 23rd Dec.
But no e-mail.

Queeg Mon 26-Nov-12 12:26:07

hope you all get one. I've been having palpitations about the damn things! Glad it is one less thing for me to stress about now.

Booked slot for 23rd.
That gives me christmas eve still to get anything they send stupid substitutions for.
Thanks again.

Queeg Mon 26-Nov-12 12:32:44

That's my thinking too, Squirted.

Tesco told me they don't do any deliveries on the 24th, so will get everything I can think of in my delivery on the 23rd then venture in first thing on Christmas Eve if I have forgotten anything.

Saltire Mon 26-Nov-12 12:33:46

Thanks, jsut booked mine for the 23rd - 10am-12 delivery slot that gives us th rest of Sunday and the 24th to correct any missing items/subs they may ahve put in

Saltire Mon 26-Nov-12 12:34:42

My delivery driver last week told me that they are doing deliveries on boxing day and new years day this year, much to the annoyance of the drivers I think

AmandinePoulain Mon 26-Nov-12 12:58:02

Done. Thank you smile

Can't say I'm impressed with the lack of email though angry

schilke Mon 26-Nov-12 13:02:08

I can't see them. Is it only for extremely loyal customers? I can only see up to the 16th!

soapnuts Mon 26-Nov-12 13:04:10

i'm only getting up to 16th as well - I'm not a saver member thingy though

Saltire Mon 26-Nov-12 13:05:06

I think you need to be adelivery saver member to see them up to the 23rd

schilke Mon 26-Nov-12 13:06:16

Aah ok. I have my Ocado emergency delivery slot booked, but not keen on the £9.99 delivery fee when I have a delivery pass.

Queeg Mon 26-Nov-12 13:30:03

yes, you needed to have signed up for the delivery saver thing before 19 November (I think) to get early access to the Christmas slots. Not sure when they get released to everyone else.

The lack of email - still waiting for mine - is a bit poor though.

ClaimedByMe Mon 26-Nov-12 13:32:30

I usually get tesco emails between 5pm and 6pm, I just added 5 bottles of vodka to mine as I cant think that far ahead!

schilke Mon 26-Nov-12 13:34:33

Ha ha ClaimedByMe - I have £90 of prosseco in my ocado christmas basket at the moment. Must remember to actually add food!

Frenchplait Mon 26-Nov-12 13:37:08

Thanks smile Booked for the 23rd. Delivery saver here.

AngelsWithSilverWings Mon 26-Nov-12 13:42:01

Thanks for the tip off! Got my order done now!

Beanbagz Mon 26-Nov-12 14:29:15

Managed to get Waitrose for the 22nd Dec (7-9pm slot) so will keep hold of that in case i can't get a Tesco one.

That was quick. All day on the 23rd is booked up already!

Many thanks to you Queeg

No thanks to Tesco though, still no emails.

jojane Mon 26-Nov-12 14:32:36

When will sainsburys slots be available?

fuzzpig Mon 26-Nov-12 15:15:06

Thanks for this! I only check email once a day (about 7am before I even get out of bed blush) so I wouldn't have seen mine til tomorrow!

Out on 24th so have booked it for 23rd, just filled basket with usual stuff and I will think properly about it later.

fuzzpig Mon 26-Nov-12 15:19:11

My email also has a code for 500 points - GRTTKK - if you get a delivery before 24th - I assume it can be used any time from now as it doesn't say otherwise. I'm going to use it on this week's delivery though as I'm bound to forget about it otherwise!

Anyone know when the rest of us can book?

I have been a loyal shopper online for a couple of years but don't do Delivery Saver and it really bugged me when they said this meant no priority slots anymore! I am not doing yet another direct debit.

Will have to keep checking i suppose. Don't book every thing MN's or i shall be a nervous wreck and have to go in the damn shop! shock

AmandinePoulain Mon 26-Nov-12 15:52:06

On their website it says when each days' slots will be available for everyone else

fuzzpig Mon 26-Nov-12 16:25:35

Quick question, you can book more than one slot at once right?

I have checked out on the 23rd slot, but since you can only have one slot from 20-24th, I thought I'd book one on the 19th too - but if I do that, will I lose my other one?

Not sure. Don't see why.

It looks like i'm going to be perched by the laptop at 12.01 am!

AmandinePoulain Mon 26-Nov-12 16:38:04

Well I've got my 23rd one, and it's letting me book my usual one for this Sunday so that should be ok, plus once you've checked out you're slot is confirmed isn't it?

fuzzpig Mon 26-Nov-12 16:45:38

Yes it is ok <phew> - I checked out for 19th too, and when I click on 'my orders' they are both listed as pending smile

MsElleTow Mon 26-Nov-12 16:49:20

Thanks, did mine just before school run for the 23rd.

Queeg Mon 26-Nov-12 16:49:56

Fuzzpig - maybe check the FAQ section on their website. I think you can book several slots but the Tesco delivery saver only covers you for one delivery during Christmas week, so you might get a delivery charge on the second order.

Queeg Mon 26-Nov-12 17:03:29

Fuzzpig Forget that. Just got my email from Tesco finally, and the one delivery thing only applies to the 20th to the 24th, so you should be fine.

myBOYSareBONKERS Mon 26-Nov-12 17:08:33

I booked mine for the 23rd at 9.30am this morning. I have only just received the email telling me I can now book. Lucky I checked as from when I booked it at 9.30am to when I got home at 10am all slots on the 23rd had gone.

I would NOT of been a happy Christmas shopper if I had waited till I got my email to book!!

AmandinePoulain Mon 26-Nov-12 17:15:03

I've just got my email hmm

bumpybecky Mon 26-Nov-12 17:38:18

is anyone else having trouble getting through the checkout?

fuzzpig Mon 26-Nov-12 18:30:03

Thanks queeg (red dwarf?) I'm planning to make the 19th dec delivery for all the freezer/store cupboard stuff and then just the fresh/last minute stuff on 23rd. I'm really hoping there won't be snow!

fuzzpig Mon 26-Nov-12 18:32:32

I found the app too slow so I used mobile site becky, but didn't have any trouble checking out.

Eddas Mon 26-Nov-12 18:38:31

I haven't had an email yet and am a delivery saver customer angry but thanks to you all I now have a 23rd Dec slot. mustn't do what I once did and not check out properly and end up with the 6 cases of beer i've currently ordered grin

Queeg Mon 26-Nov-12 19:40:02

Yes Fuzzpig I am a Red Dwarf fan. It was just about the only name I could get as lots of other good possible user names had already been taken by other Mners!

Must think of something more creative...

trumpton Mon 26-Nov-12 20:42:56

Well I got Friday 21st. Nothing left for Saturday or Sunday. Email just pinged into my inbox. Thanks for the heads up.

bumpybecky Mon 26-Nov-12 20:43:17

Managed it from DH's laptop, seems it was my pc having a hissy fit. No idea why it's in denial about Christmas, Amazon got hammered for presents last week!

How do I get a 23rd or 24th slot?

Queeg Mon 26-Nov-12 21:10:52

Starlight The tesco chap this morning told me that they weren't doing any deliveries on the 24th, so the 23rd is the nearest for Christmas. Not sure what slots will be left now though.

I can only get as far as the 16th Dec! That's no good. I'm out of the country until the 22nd.

MegBusset Mon 26-Nov-12 21:16:14

I think they're only open now for priority customers. The rest of us will get access to the slots on Weds.

myBOYSareBONKERS Mon 26-Nov-12 21:24:14

I would of thought they will increase the amount of slots available on wednesday

So who are priority customers?

myBOYSareBONKERS Mon 26-Nov-12 21:33:48

those with delivery saver

Queeg Mon 26-Nov-12 21:34:51

Starlight Priority goes to those who paid for the delivery saver service, where you pay your delivery charges up front for a certain period of time.

Queeg Mon 26-Nov-12 21:35:10

Oh, the 'loyal' customers - lol

Queeg Mon 26-Nov-12 21:43:49

Yes, I know. It's really not very fair at all.

ThatVikRinA22 Mon 26-Nov-12 21:44:07

i use tesco most weeks - how do i get a delivery slot please? i cant get anything past 16th dec...???

ThatVikRinA22 Mon 26-Nov-12 21:44:30

ahhhhh just seen....cheers.

CouthyMowEatingBraiiiiinz Mon 26-Nov-12 21:55:46

How do you get the slots? Mine is only showing up to December 16th?

CouthyMowEatingBraiiiiinz Mon 26-Nov-12 22:01:00

So let me get this straight. Because I can't afford to pay for my deliveries upfront, I can't get a delivery slot when I will need one?

The reason I need it delivered is because I'm disabled and can't get that amount of shopping home, and the reason I can't pay for delivery upfront is because I'm disabled and don't work.

Tesco are fucking bastards. What will be the closest delivery to Christmas I can get if I don't pay for delivery upfront? If it's anything earlier than Friday 21st, it's not going to be any good for me, because a) the food won't last until I next get paid, and b) as my benefits payment would usually be due on Christmas Day, the earliest I will get that payment is midnight on the Thursday / Friday.

Fuck. What am I meant to do now?!

CouthyMowEatingBraiiiiinz Mon 26-Nov-12 22:03:35

By midnight on the Thursday / Friday, I mean that the money will be in my account to PAY for the shopping and delivery at 00:01 on the 21st, and not before. WTF do I do?

I'm not fit enough to do what I usually do and do it at night by taxi anymore, I've got much worse physically in the last year. sad

I paid £60 for the saver delivery for 6 months, because the slot I need them to deliver in costs me £6. So if I use them 10 or more times in 6 months I get it free. The Christmas delivery priority I had forgotten all about until I read this thread and checked this morning.
The only thing to watch out for is that it renews automatically, I have a note in my diary to remind me to cancel or allow the renew, but tbh I've used the delivery way more than that already.

I do an Internet shop 2-3 times monthly but I vary my supermarket!

CouthyMowEatingBraiiiiinz Tue 27-Nov-12 00:58:07

How many days does milk last in the fridge? I can't put it in the freezer because there won't be any room, and my only solution means buying milk on the 19th and expecting it to last until the 27th...

Buy Cravendale or shops own brand pure filter and it will last at least two weeks, so you would be absolutely fine. Tastes better too IMO.
