Amazon Black Friday Thread- Day 3!

(287 Posts)

Morning!

Another day, another dollar spent

What's on your list today?

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 06:20:34

Whee smile good morning! Don't think there is much I'm after today, possibly a Kipling bag. It's so bad, as I have done all my Christmas shopping I'm mostly getting things for myself!

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 06:21:38

Anything catching your eye pratting?
Will send 'fast appearing buttons' wishes your way!

I've only had a quick look yet, but I am fancying a Kipling bag too. I want to see how much that phone is, though I really would like an iPhone... My sister loves 1 direction hmm I will make a list when I'm downstairs on the laptop smile

I've done all my Christmas shopping too apparently

Right, best get up and do some housework so I can justify sitting at the table all day on the laptop! See you at 8!

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 06:37:56

I have 1 child, he is 4 months old, I do not need an armed forces helicopter suitable for 5+ the fact DH is a soldier makes no difference to what toys my son should play with. This is what I am telling myself for the next couple of hours!

Hehe grin I am going now honest

scrappydappydoo Wed 21-Nov-12 07:01:21

Loupee - I really like the look of those kitchens except both my girls are too old and we have no room in the house. I am staying away today as I cannot trust myself.

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 07:07:55

I have to get the one direction book for DD1!
Maybe some in ear headphones for DS1.

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 07:19:16

DH has just left for work, his departing words were 'try not to spend too much money'
me: 'ok I'll try!

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 07:21:10

The kitchens are gorgeous scrappy DH want me to keep an eye in the pressure washer and external hard drive, boring!

Morning all grin

I had a quick look at 2am when I was up with dd, there wasn't anything I fancied, going to have another look now in case they've added anything.

DC still ill, so stuck on the sofa again all day, what a shame wink

HissyByName Wed 21-Nov-12 07:39:35

I was watching for a Moshi something yesterday while at work. Bloody Clients... someone flipping rang me and I missed the lot.... angry

grin

grin Hissy - pesky work getting in the way of shopping wink

Had another look, going to keep my eye on the doll and the small kitchen. DH really would kill me if I got the kitchen, but the kids would love it...

TaggieCampbellBlackFriday Wed 21-Nov-12 07:45:50

Mornin all.

I can't see anything much I want or need today. Not that that will stop me obsessively flicking back and forth.
Those kitchens are cute but I have teenagers.

And I'm working this afternoon.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 07:46:11

Nothing really exciting me today. Maybe the pie dish.

I must have awful taste as I really don't like those kitchens. Take me to IKEA!

Stupid kayak.

I'm back and ready! Done everything that needs doing and had a shower with 10 minutes to spare grin. I can now sit at the table allll day, hoping more good stuff gets added later on.

whatkungfuthat Wed 21-Nov-12 07:52:18

Morning, can I crash this new thread please? I am thinking about the MP3 and the DAB radio. I am really hoping they do a deal on the latest Batman movie at some point.

TaggieCampbellBlackFriday Wed 21-Nov-12 07:57:26

Oh. I have that daisy necklace. Its v pretty. And DD1 keeps stealing it. Msybe dhe needs one of her own.

ImpYCelyn Wed 21-Nov-12 07:59:19

I want a play kitchen for the DS1&2, but I don't like the look of those.

I'm tempted by a slanket though <tragic> Also the GRR Martin boxset for DH.

I need an angle poise wall lamp, but I need two, so I think I'll pass for now.

Pie dish perhaps. Britax filters as well if a good price.

I do not need another bad. I do not need another bag.

Oooh, a laminator! Very tempting.

ImpYCelyn Wed 21-Nov-12 08:01:42

If anyone's thinking about the circulon pans - I bought a set last year and they're excellent!

I've just remembered that I bought a memory card as well, and I have no earthly clue where it's gone...

poorbuthappy Wed 21-Nov-12 08:03:10

Waiting for the kitchen here...although am wondering why the red 1 is more expensive to start with...

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 08:03:51

Very little for me today (thank goodness!)

A mouse at 11:30 for DS2's laptop,
Electric toothbrush for a DS at 2pm (may add full price ones for the other DC actually)
And a covetable tin of 127 or so pencils at 2:15pm, just to be stroked by me grin

SantasComingFace Wed 21-Nov-12 08:06:52

Can anyone explain what I need to do? Do I add things to my basket now or wait I'm very confused

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 08:09:09

You have to wait until the time shown. At that time, the offer price will appear and you have to click the "get deal" button and check out within 15 minutes.

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 08:10:15

Some items go very quickly. Best to add to your basket and then think about it.

You can go on a "wait list" and, if people don't check the item out, you can get offered the chance to buy - watch yourscreen for a pop up.

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 08:11:03

Imp I would be tempted by a slanket too, would make next years Black Friday week very cosy ;)
Welcome to the madness whatkung

SantasComingFace Wed 21-Nov-12 08:13:58

Brilliant thank you, I'd better make a flask grin

I can see this getting addictive

whatkungfuthat Wed 21-Nov-12 08:16:34

Thanks Loupee Those little kitchens make me wish I had a DD

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 08:17:31

Is it one item per person? Both ds's want a micro sd card.
Amazon app on android is actually quite good but pic doesn't show until item goes live.

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 08:21:03

Yes, you can only get one item at the deal price.

SweetMingePie Wed 21-Nov-12 08:21:46

Morning all!

A few things I'm wanting today. Chou Chou doll up at half 8, normally leave for school then but will have to leave a few minutes later.

Reall wanting a Kipling bag but won't be in until after 4. Probably a good thing.

I'd recommend getting an ikea kitchen! They're selling the whole getup for £60 rather than £90

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 08:26:11

Morning bargain hunters!

Hate to be all moan-y, but I am so disappointed with the offers so far. Nothing thats made me get excited....maybe that's because I haven't got the £££?

Going to have a look at this Kipling bag, as others of you are talking about it. I'm guessing this is different to the Mr Kipling who makes cakes? apparently

Hope those of you wanting something gets it at a good price today grin

ImpYCelyn Wed 21-Nov-12 08:27:43

Yikes, the colouring pencils are £127 to start with!

SantasComingFace Wed 21-Nov-12 08:28:08

Is there any way of viewing the list without using the scrolling thing? blush

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 08:29:32

Santas not that I've found, no...sorry

I want one of those kitchens. I loved mine when I was little.

SantasComingFace Wed 21-Nov-12 08:31:33

Thanks NoSoggy as long as I know wink

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 08:32:20

I have absolutely no self control!

Hmm, got the Chou Chou doll in my basket, but don't think I'll get it...

poorbuthappy Wed 21-Nov-12 08:33:00

Kitchen bought.
Twins will be happy!

Ooh excited to find a thread!

If I'm quick enough today, I'll be able to pretty much finish DDs Christmas pressies.
Managed to get the pink and white ice watch yesterday, and today waiting for the GHDs and the Harry Potter game.

Good luck and speedy fingers eveyone grin

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 08:34:01

Ha! That pie dish is only 16cm. I need enormous pies thanks.

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 08:35:22

You can look at items as a list on the Amazon app if you have a phone that does apps smile. Just no pic until item goes live.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 08:36:42

Santa if you have a smart phone you can download the Amazon app and the offers display in one long list. I only realised that today; the last 2 days I've been getting to page 75 and then hitting the stupid razor ad by mistake and having to start all over again.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 08:37:40

X-post, sorry!

I'm on an iPhone and have pictures too. Tortoise are you on an Android?

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 08:37:49

I got the GHDs on Monday, think they went down to £73, was pretty chuffed with that.

SantasComingFace Wed 21-Nov-12 08:38:33

Brilliant. I'll download now! I keep clicking on the stupid razor add too!! angry

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 08:38:49

slightly I hate that razor ad!

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 08:43:03

We should start a hate group grin

Brilliant Loupee, the blossom ones? They're lovely envy

ImpYCelyn Wed 21-Nov-12 08:45:54

Radiator panels?! I'm so disappointed!

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 08:46:07

A radiator reflector.....aka as glorified kitchen foil grin

Disappointment here too.
Got to literally run the school run now! Couldn't leave in case it was something good...

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 08:52:23

I wish there was an automatic refresh option on MN. There isn't .... is there? confused

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 08:55:21

I've got a baby group this morn, but it's the kind where they take the babies away and you sit drinking tea for a couple of hours. So will be testing my phone capabilities ;)

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 08:56:48

Yeah thesit was so pleased to get them they had actually been on my wish list for a while. Wonder if some of the money still goes to breast cancer charity tho?!

Ooo, I have the amazon app, will go off to have a look...

Piemistress Wed 21-Nov-12 09:03:36

Morning All! Shattered as DD was up twice last night practising her new vocal sounds (she's 5 mo) so time to compile today's hit list but don't think anything has jumped out at me so far

I can't work out where to go in the app, any ideas? confused

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 09:13:33

More button at the bottom, then Today's Deals.

There isn't a today's deals option confused I'm on the iPad, will go and check iPod too...

Nope, it's the same on the iPod confused <sobs>

Piemistress Wed 21-Nov-12 09:20:08

Mildly relieved there is nothing I am desperate for today. Made a note of a few things but wouldn't be gutted if I didn't get them. feel a bit disappointed!
Moving house next week so it least it frees me up to do some packing sad

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 09:20:13

It isn't on the ipad app, you have to download the iphone app

It is the iPhone app that I have on both as I find the iPad app rubbish...

SweetMingePie Wed 21-Nov-12 09:22:38

I got the Chou Chou doll as it as the cheapest I've seen it. Not for any of my lot, I just have boys, but for my neice wo is baby mad!

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 09:24:27

How odd. No treasure box icon?

Have discovered the problem, I need to update my apps more often blushblushblush

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 09:25:23

hmm, I downloaded the iphone app and the daily deals were there? is the app due an update?

Yay, that worked grin Thanks all, sorry for being incompetent blush

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 09:25:46

aaah x-post

Ooo, that's much better than the web page!

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 09:27:19

Does anyone have one of those Philips living colours lamps? Can't figure out if i need it!

Can anyone remember what price the bissell little green steam cleaner was on Monday? It's back again at 5.45 and I'm kinda tempted smile

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 09:28:56

Yes, i'm on android phone.
And laptop now i'm back from school (soaking wet!)

I'm eyeing up the black Ice watch for DS. Will see what price it goes for.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 09:31:43

If you're wondering whether you need it... you don't.

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 09:31:54

Do i want the 1D book at that price? I don't know! But it's in my basket ready!

ImpYCelyn Wed 21-Nov-12 09:31:59

Atlas or no?

Got the books for DH, so he's done for Xmas now! grin

The atlas was gone by the time I managed to get it to refresh, not that I wanted it. I'd check elsewhere as well, I bet it's never sold at the full price anywhere.

ImpYCelyn Wed 21-Nov-12 09:35:06

Took Slightly's advice and left the atlas. Thanks smile

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 09:45:40

wink My own cut-off point for shopping is when I'm looking at something wondering who I could get it for. Then I know it's time to go home/log off.

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 09:47:02

Scrubs is more popular than I thought.

Not buying anything, but quite enjoying seeing whats selling and whats not. Also playing "guess the discount"!

bagpuss Wed 21-Nov-12 09:49:12

Morning all!

Well, I've got a list today - kipling bags, brita cartridges, xbox games (maybe?), pure dab sound dock, hmm the list goes on!

I really need to restrain myself too, we've done all our christmas shopping already!

DH is waiting for the Kindle Fire deals on friday - does anyone know whether it will just be the Fire or the Fire HD?

Might look at the watches again too... grin

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 09:50:28

I quite like playing 'guess the most popular item' and trying to get one. I feel all pleased if I manage it but still put it back smile

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 09:50:48

Gosh I'm a right saddo blush

whatkungfuthat Wed 21-Nov-12 09:52:26

I wonder what Friday's Kindle deal will be? I am in two minds whether to order one, I've been dropping hints which DP will most likely have no clue about but I may end up with two if miracles happen

Arithmeticulous Wed 21-Nov-12 09:52:47

Where is everybody? I came in late from school and got 4 things in my basket straight away shock I only bought the Choir book though wink

It's the boring day, arith, they are obviously doing the best stuff at the beginning and end of the week grin

I'm really hoping for more Melissa and Doug stuff at the end of the week.

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 09:59:05

I love the boys spider watch set but can't think of who i could give it to! My DS's are too old for it.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 10:04:17

Tortoise step away from the spider watch!

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 10:08:11

A little off topic...but just found out that Asda is doing a "Black Friday" weekend, this weekend! Online only, I guess.

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep an eye out on the weekend smile

SweetMingePie Wed 21-Nov-12 10:23:04

Slightly, what a wicked game you pay wink

I have just burnt the chilli I was making for tea tonight as I was watching the bloody 10:15 stuff angry

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 10:32:15

grin

Asda did it last year too but it was crap! If i remember right, it was a few deals per day all live at same time. Was rubbish!

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 10:32:39

4% off the bagless upright....how generous Amazon!

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 10:34:31

Tortoise might not bother then! The deals over here don't seem to be like the ones in America...they seem much better. Was watching a programme showing people claiming free digital cameras!

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 10:46:51

Oh dear, I have a spider set in my basket!!

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 10:54:53

Tortoise....don't want to encourage you, but it is a good price!

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 10:55:14

Put it back you loon.

anklebitersmum Wed 21-Nov-12 10:58:12

I've been looking at this . Any good or better to wait for kindle to come up? Need two, one each for Ds and DSS.

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 11:02:15

lol Slightly

whatkungfuthat Wed 21-Nov-12 11:03:08

Just got the MP3 for DP's car. He isn't really into gadgets but wants more music so not bad for £30 as it holds 2000 tracks and is the colour version. It got really good reviews.

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 11:05:32

anklebitersmum Don't know. The American Amazon site (i.e. the .com) has 3 reviews for it. 1 rated 5 stars, 1 rated 3 stars and 1 rated 1 star! So seems like a real mixed bag.

Not sure if you are aware that you can only buy one of each "Black Friday" deal on Amazon.

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 11:06:14

I couldn't resist!
My DP has a 5yr old DS who might like it but i know he's bought him a transformers watch for Xmas already.

anklebitersmum Wed 21-Nov-12 11:07:43

someone needs to give up one of those Union flag radios for my DH

<looks around suspiciously>

whatkungfuthat Wed 21-Nov-12 11:09:36

Not me ankle I considered it but it was more than I wanted to pay

anklebitersmum Wed 21-Nov-12 11:11:37

grin thank you!

Wanted it as his got stolen from his office recently otherwise I'd have been employing my 69% tight too whatkung

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 11:16:48

Wow the Jamie oliver pie dish went quick! (Not that i need or want one)

I got the food processor! smile I've been after one for ages so I'm happy.

Got DS the timex watch in the end. I think the men's Ice one would be too big for his wrist. Plus, £21 is a bargain, where as £66...not so much.

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 11:20:32

Good price for the food processor <thumbs up> (really should be a thumbs up smiley!)

Slightly is the little angel on our shoulders today grin

whatkungfuthat Wed 21-Nov-12 11:24:09

I'm staying away now until tomorrow, I don't think there is anything else I'm after and if I go back I'll be tempted to get DS even more Lego

anklebitersmum Wed 21-Nov-12 11:24:36

NoSoggyBottoms I know about just one but I have my parents (silver surfers) stood to in the event we go for it. Worked very effectively with the scooters last year! wink

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 11:26:49

I think Tortoise will end up wearing it grin

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 11:27:07

anklebitersmum I like your thinking...and tactics grin. God bless the silver surfers!

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 11:28:44

Good idea! I need a watch and missed out on the ice ones plus the £10 discount!

My DH has come home early from work 'cos of the rain, so we're gonna spend the day on the sofa, watching the Modern family boxset. I'll have the laptop with me and will have to be sneaky if I want to buy something grin

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 11:31:49

Never been able to 'get in' to Modern Family

ilooklikegrotbagstoday Wed 21-Nov-12 11:32:12

Amazon payment page just hanging. Missed out on the satnav because the page wouldn't load angry

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 11:35:23

Postie just brought the talking moshi monster! grin

Ah, we love it. Nearly finished season 2.

ilook sad

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 11:36:19

I look, try clicking on waitlist. I did that twice yesterday because page wouldn't load on phone and it put it straight in basket again.

NoSoggyBottoms Wed 21-Nov-12 11:36:37

sad how annoying and frustrating ilooklikegrotbagstoday (bet you don't btw!)

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 11:45:12

Nothing now until 1.30 trespass ski coat. But only if about £20!

bagpuss Wed 21-Nov-12 11:47:00

I've just updated my amazon app and it seems to be running well now. Have dithered over the men's timex for ds1 but was hoping that the fashion voucher would work with it sad. Does anyone know if it works with the Kipling bags as I may look at them this afternoon. Kindle case arrived this morning. It is very nice and dd1 will be pleased I think smile.

I'm hoping it'll work with the Kipling bags bagpuss but I don't know.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 11:49:47

I was tempted by the socks but resisted. DH has already had something.

Leapsters are on again at 1.

SweetMingePie Wed 21-Nov-12 11:49:52

I got DH the timex watch, wa going to get the ice one but a little past my budget. Was going to get food processor but I really don't need one, just wantone.

Boys trespass next for me.

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 12:12:35

That Tassimo machine that has come on was the one I was planning on getting DH for his birthday, but I think I have to go out sad

Happylander Wed 21-Nov-12 12:13:05

Just tried to get the hunter wellies but failed. Mind you not sure they would fit round my fat legs anyway lol

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 12:27:22

Do I really want Zumba Core for the Wii?

The leapsters have sneaked in, for anyone who missed them.
(They weren't there earlier were they?! Or am I just being a div?)

I've only used my zumba about 3 times Soup blush

Damn, bought the radio....

I really want the Trespass jacket...

SweetMingePie Wed 21-Nov-12 12:50:46

No they weren't there earlier.

Will not be waiting for the trespass jacket now as they only go to 9-10 and I need 10-11. Typical!

Arithmeticulous Wed 21-Nov-12 12:53:25

The books are back as well.

spookysal Wed 21-Nov-12 12:55:45

.

milk Wed 21-Nov-12 12:56:03

IMO this year's Amazon Black Friday is a load of rubbish!!! Not seen one good thing yet/decent discount! Shame on Amazon- first not paying any tax, and now not having any good deals!!! angry

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 12:58:55

Milk Between us we seem to have found a good few offers! Plenty of time left.

I've just seen on the amazon forum that they think Little Mix's album will be on later. I have to get that for my dh!

I'm sure there will be some more good deals today/later on in the week smile

bagpuss Wed 21-Nov-12 13:04:22

Sweet - I was thinking the same re the Trespass jacket - I need 11-12, curse you pre-teenage boy! <<shakes fist>>.

Yes, Black Friday deals not very good today, I agree. Still, if I only get a few little extra gifts with a couple of quid off then it is still a bargain right? grin

ilooklikegrotbagstoday Wed 21-Nov-12 13:08:47

Finally sorted out Amazon after phoning them. Very nice man indeed told me if i use Firefox instead of internet explorer i should have no more problems.

Oh i do actually look like Grotbags today. I've been up with 2 sick kids for the last few nights, DS1 is hasn't gone to school, DS2 is potty training and the house is a tip. Definitely a Grotbags day.

Arithmeticulous Wed 21-Nov-12 13:09:54

Has anyone got their Lego bundles yet? Worth it or not?

SweetMingePie Wed 21-Nov-12 13:12:18

I'm cursing my tall children. I was for ds2 who is only just 7 but wears 10/11 year old clothes.

LucilleBluth Wed 21-Nov-12 13:12:48

I got an ice watch on Monday for £20 with my voucher, I need to step away from the computer now, I am buying randomly, I bought fancy liquorice this morning.

Wowserz129 Wed 21-Nov-12 13:13:02

Where is the little mix signed album? Can't see it in missed or upcoming

Just looked at my emails. I opened the one from Amazon about today's deals, and there is a signed little mix album. So this at least will be popping up but at an unknown time. I want the cheap cds and dvds again like last year.

Don't know when it'll be up Wowserz, it's another ploy to keep us on their site.

anklebitersmum Wed 21-Nov-12 13:14:45

what voucher??

anklebitersmum Wed 21-Nov-12 13:17:11

never mind, found it blush

LucilleBluth Wed 21-Nov-12 13:23:08

I'm holding out for the moleskine diary and pen now, I think I'm addicted smile

Arithmeticulous Wed 21-Nov-12 13:29:07

I am definitely addicted - I almost got that whale thing blush

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 13:31:36

The coats went quick! On waiting list but not sure want to pay that much.

I got a coat in my basket and would have got it if the voucher worked with it. Got loads of coats though.

SweetMingePie Wed 21-Nov-12 13:33:28

Boys coats not reduced by much. I can get the same cheaper at the local trespass shop.

LucilleBluth Wed 21-Nov-12 13:33:32

Arithmeticulous ha ha, me too and I probably would have if had been a bit cheaper smile

Arithmeticulous Wed 21-Nov-12 13:43:26

Lucille I was thinking how the kids could play Octonauts with it and it could be the whale shark etc and then I thought for a tenner they could just use their imagination grin

I've cancelled about 1/3 of the things I've bought tbh.

neddle Wed 21-Nov-12 13:47:05

Anyone seen the Matchbox Rocky truck irl?

I've got it in my basket, but not sure if it's worth it.

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 13:50:00

Didn't get a coat. Sold out.

SweetMingePie Wed 21-Nov-12 13:53:43

We have the stinky garbage truck which is roughly he same as rocky, theyre ok, my ds2 still plays with his 3 years on.

Marne Wed 21-Nov-12 13:55:04

I bought dd1 the spider watch (orange boys watch). I'm after the Harry potter lego later but only if it goes down to £20 or less, i might get another bath bomb set too as the one i got on monday came today and it looks like a great gift.

I keep going back to the page as new things keep apearing smile.

minsmum Germany Wed 21-Nov-12 13:59:30

What does anyone think of the seksy womens watch ? Has anyone got one. My dm wants a new watch for christmas.

neddle Wed 21-Nov-12 13:59:37

I bought Rocky. I looked on Camel and the 3rd party sale prices shot up before christmas last year. If I change my mind, I can sell it back.

A few things have snuck in, sneaky amazon! The bits I bought on Monday arrived today, the liquorice is nicely packaged and for some reason, the uDraw is much bigger than I expected confused Not sure whether to give it to DH now, he might just laugh at me, he is NOT an artist grin Or I could bite the bullet and give it to DS who will be the one who uses it, but he has too much already...

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 14:01:18

I thought i'd go for the stubble trimmer thing for my Brother, by the time the claim button came up they had all gone! hmm

Min - I think it looks lovely, but need to spend any spare money on Christmas presents atm sad

MissisCellophane Wed 21-Nov-12 14:02:40

I bought the Leapster for DS. Had no intention of buying it but seemed like such a good price! Have to break it to DH now..

I reeeeeeallllly need the gold Carvela shoes at 6pm...

minsmum Germany Wed 21-Nov-12 14:07:21

Well if the price is okay I might get it for her. I was also looking at the wireless speaker for my dd for Christmas but would it work work with her iPhone argh not sure

I am fascinated to see how much the pencils go for... £100+ for pencils! I am sure they are very good, but still confused

HalleLouja Wed 21-Nov-12 14:12:17

Can you use the £10 fashion voucher? I am not sure if I am looking in the right place as can't see any nice shoes.

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 14:17:12

£70 for the pencils.

They're artists pencils rather than give-them-to-your-children pencils.

Bloody hell, who'd a thought that £70 colouring pencils would be so popular confused

Yeah, I know, Soup. Think I just didn't realise being an artist would be so expensive grin

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 14:19:09

They are a bargain going by current prices. i googled them earlier.

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 14:19:52

They sell at over £1 per pencil individually - in some places well over £1!

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 14:22:43

Is there a way of seeing where you are on the waitlist for something?

BrianAndHisBalls Wed 21-Nov-12 14:24:27

god ive bought the water fountain thing for my cats, the bath bomb set, the zumba wii thing, the u draw wii thing and the ridiculously expensive iron!!!!!! I went crazed!!

Happylander Wed 21-Nov-12 14:24:55

I don't understand the wait list. I put myself on it and then the next thing I knew a little message had appeared saying I had missed it. I am confused confused

£1 a pencil! Lucky I am not into drawing grin Mind you, dread to think how much I have spent on other crafty stuff over the years blush

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 14:26:41

i think that means that everyone above you on the waitlist and the actual purchase list (IYSWIM) has checked out. All the deal items have gone.

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 14:27:36

I want the pencils just to gaze at them grin How could you use any and spoil the neat rows of lovely pencils??

Pourquoimoi Wed 21-Nov-12 14:31:29

I managed to get the canon camera that I missed on Monday. I've had it on my wish list for a couple of months so saving £60 was very welcome smile

anklebitersmum Wed 21-Nov-12 14:33:09

ooh look, they're sneaking new stuff in. Not that I can justify afford the Denon sad

That's true, Soup, I have spent a great deal more time gazing at my lovely shiny beads than actually making anything with them blush

There's an android tablet on later.

I would love the colour laser printer, is it too late to put on my list to Father Christmas?! sad

SuperScribbler Wed 21-Nov-12 14:50:48

So far today I have bought the toy army helicopter and now I just snapped up one of the silver mini speakers (wow they went quickly). I need to step away from the laptop!!

Anyone else going for a kipling bag?

BrianAndHisBalls Wed 21-Nov-12 15:42:36

ANDROID TABLET??? I need to buy 2 Nexus 7s for Christmas...

Don't think they are nexus, haven't heard of the brand, sorry.

I've got the blue kahuna watch in my basket, don't know whether to get it or not...

Got the toy story light in my basket now too, I was NOT going to buy anything today hmm

Whoop, got the kipling I wanted- the Dounia in New Carbon smile

Anyone already got one of the bags? Don't know which one to try to get?

I put the watch back and got the light smile

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 15:57:40

I picked up 3 of the bags, decided I didn't actually like any of them and put them all back.

Argh, go with the Dounia or wait for the Agnese (am 217th on the waiting list! grin)

I am last of the big spenders on this thread

Oops, pressed send too soon, that was supposed to be topped off with a grin

The dounia's nice, Gwendoline smile

I had all of the bags in my basket and had to whittle it down. I only want it for the theme parks on holiday and then days out really.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 16:06:11

Honestly, who wants one ramekin?

OK, got the dounia. smile

Arithmeticulous Wed 21-Nov-12 16:06:27

I have whittled the bags down to nothing. I wanted the water filter thingy but the stupid computer would not refresh angry

What colour did you get Gwendoline?

I was a bit confused about the ramekin too.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 16:08:15

Continuing to hate on the ramekin... Is it just me or does it look like a normal bowl? One of.

anklebitersmum Wed 21-Nov-12 16:09:05

still umming on tablet..needed to do research in case I do my usual buy twoddle blush

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 16:19:05

My 13yr old DS2 said he wants the android tablet but i'm not sure what the point is when he has a mobile and a laptop!

bagpuss Wed 21-Nov-12 16:23:26

Went for the black cross body kipling bag for me dd1. Voucher still didnt work though sad. Does it work on anything I wonder? hmm

same colour as you grin

Arithmeticulous Wed 21-Nov-12 16:24:39

Ah ok so now I have a bag and the cartridges - I was 267th on the waitlist for the filters confused

SantasComingFace Wed 21-Nov-12 16:28:19

Thanks to the recommendation to use the app I've managed to get the small Kipling bag (no idea who for) and the toy story night light! grin

So far I've bought the Canon camera that was on yesterday (A4200?) and the Bench hat, gloves and scarf set for DH. I shouldn't spend anymore as I ordered £66 worth of stuff last week. It's so addictive. blush

It really is addictive. Despite not needing anything at all, i have bought something on every day so far blush

AWimbaWay Wed 21-Nov-12 16:58:20

I've got 10 minutes to decide if I want to spend £270 on a mattress. We really need a new mattress, ours is 10 years old and very uncomfortable but still can't decide as don't really have £270 to spare this close to Christmas!

Whispers- we both need to step away from the amazon website smile

Maybe there'll be better matress deals in the new year?

AWimbaWay Wed 21-Nov-12 17:08:46

I didn't go for it, you're right malone, I will wait for the sales but no doubt will be cursing the decision when trying to get comfy in bed tonight.

bagpuss Wed 21-Nov-12 17:12:45

Even the dcs are addicted. dd1 is watching the kipling bags and saying "oh no, they are nearly all gone!". Little does she realise that I've already bought one grin.

Not sure many of these are real offers though - was on the waitlist for the brita cartridges but looked at packs of 6 which are £15.99 and reduced from £30 or so anyway.

Do I win most frugal shopper of the day? I have spent less than £30 since the deals started on Monday... <<virtuous>>

kiwidreamer Wed 21-Nov-12 17:15:06

I got the ramekins! I have got lots of pieces in the same design and have been waiting for a good price on this size - for nuts/olives/dips etc. Ramekin is probably not the best name for them, product description says its a set of four smile

caffeinated Wed 21-Nov-12 17:17:46

Little Mix CD is on now for 7:15

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 17:18:53

I got DS2 the turtle beach headset but XP will pay me for it and he will give it to him for Christmas (DS2 sold his that he had here). Managed to text xp and get a reply in time to checkout!
My only problem is that it shows as claimed on the deals page and he will probably ask to look later to see whats ending. Surprised he hasn't asked already!

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 17:18:59

My new king sized mattress is arriving on Friday smile

bagpuss Wed 21-Nov-12 17:19:07

The ramekins do look nice. Have you seen the rest of his range though? I am a bit hmm at the names - sweetie bowl, pukka plate, etc. I think after years of cooking his food I am a bit Jamie Oliver'd out!

Yay thanks caffeinated smile

AWimbaWay Wed 21-Nov-12 17:21:21

Are you taunting me SoupDragon envy

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 17:23:29

Oh yes.

But my current mattress is older than yours so I need it more grin

bagpuss Wed 21-Nov-12 17:35:01

DAB speaker dock only has 6% off the list price! I had been waiting for that all day too sad.

AWimbaWay Wed 21-Nov-12 17:37:42

That's OK then, although I am doubly jealous as we can only fit a double in our room which means sleeping far too close to Dh for my liking.

I was going for the dab radio ipod dock for my Dad's christmas present, but it only went down by 6% so didn't bother.

AWimbaWay Wed 21-Nov-12 17:38:26

x-post bagpuss, it was rubbish wasn't it!

Well done bagpuss, I thought I was doing well, but think I am just over £30 for 5 items smile

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 17:40:41

I have the king sized bed all to myself as well.

Which is another reason I need a new mattress - this one will not have any trace of XHs DNA on it grin

bagpuss Wed 21-Nov-12 17:42:24

Yes! There really isn't much I really want now - dd1 is hinting at the nailpolish set but she has two hopes grin.

No, hang on, 6 items grin We have a king sized bed, best thing we ever bought smile

Marne Wed 21-Nov-12 17:47:08

I have spent around £60 on 5 items (sinse monday). Not bad at all for what i have bought, must slow down though as i havn't bought gifts for all the people i was ment to be buying for (have just bought things for the dd's and one thing for me).

SoupDragon Wed 21-Nov-12 17:47:42

I am neither counting how many things I've bought nor totalling up how much I've spent!

bagpuss Wed 21-Nov-12 17:51:33

shock Soup! <<dreams of king sized bed>>

Thank you Whispers. I am going to have to sit on my hands now and let dh seek out the good kindle offers on Friday - I have told him that he can use the app to stalk on his phone so that I don't have the stress of missing out! and also he can pay

SlightlySuperiorPeasant Wed 21-Nov-12 17:59:50

I got the Kipling wallet for DBro smile

bagpuss Wed 21-Nov-12 17:59:56

I would really like that Phillips wake up light but I can't justify it <<sits on hands harder>>

Whoop, got my gold Carvela pumps :D And had an email saying my fly boots have been dispatched smile

Arithmeticulous Wed 21-Nov-12 18:04:57

£99 is too steep, I'd want it to make me a cuppa for that as well wink

First day of hitting it for me today, so far I've gone for the Harry Potter Kinect game, and HF-W cookbook for a fiver.

MistressIggi Wed 21-Nov-12 18:10:58

Can anyone here advise me - got the Obaby highchair on yesterday's Amazon deals, arrived today (great!) and there is a fault with the leg joint. If I send it back, I'm not likely to be able to get a new one if they were selling it off as a deal am I? Not sure what to do..

bagpuss Wed 21-Nov-12 18:11:04

Hehe, Arithmeticulous, I've got dh for that!

Mistress - call or email them and explain. I would have thought they'd exchange?

bagpuss Wed 21-Nov-12 18:24:46

I agree, they are usually very good with exchanges and returns.

HarderToKidnap Wed 21-Nov-12 18:39:34

Got the Carvela pumps, woohoo! Had the GHDs in my shopping bag but didn't go for it in the end. Would like the diamond solitaire earrings for my mum and the toothbrush for me but in conincides with bathtime and DS is already hanging...

VodIsGod Wed 21-Nov-12 18:45:57

Oh that Nails Inc discount is really crap - 8%?!!!

What colour did you get Harder? smile

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 18:59:00

Bought a men's watch! Didn't see that one earlier had 18 mins left. Was too cheap to turn down. Either I will have it or DS.

Yay got Little mix's album my 33 year old DH will be I'm happy!

Wowserz129 Wed 21-Nov-12 19:16:58

Clicked add to basket the second little mix popped up and I am still on the waitlist and everyone will buy it at £4. What a waste of a day!!

sad I hope you get it.

Wowserz129 Wed 21-Nov-12 19:21:09

Thanks, not hopeful!! Must just depend how quick the button loads on the screen! Got some other deals though so can't complain!

skrumle Wed 21-Nov-12 19:27:27

got the little mix album and then gave in and got the macadamia oil - my DD uses the leave in conditioner which is fab so figured it was worth a try. got a netball hoop/stand on monday which was delivered today. everything for DD at the moment - fingers crossed i see something i want at some point!

Wowserz129 Wed 21-Nov-12 19:36:52

Is Friday meant to be the best day deals wise? Wasn't very impressed today!

MistressIggi Wed 21-Nov-12 19:43:11

Thanks guys, contacted them and I will get a replacement - of course they are delivering the new one and collecting old one on different days hmm. Three days in the house to get one item!

Not sure Wowserz, though it does end on sunday this year.

How annoying Mistress!

Piemistress Wed 21-Nov-12 19:49:18

My fly boots arrived today but I'm not in love with them, eep!!!!

Seem quite saggy around the ankle, need to try on with tights and skirts but will be loathe to pay for returning them!

Arithmeticulous Wed 21-Nov-12 20:19:11

Ok, before I cancel it: is the Dounia bag nice or did I get over excited?

That's a pain, mistress sad

That watch went down quite a lot shock

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 20:44:20

The watch i got was £16.50 down from about £50! Very pleased with that.

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 20:49:44

I got one memory card. Want another one really.
The tablet went before my button appeared which is really frustrating!

Sparklytinsel Wed 21-Nov-12 20:56:29

The tablet didn't have the google app store on it.
To get apps for it you would have to get them from Titans Get Jar marketplace.

That's it for me tonight, spent to much! see you tomorrow smile

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 20:59:55

I wasn't sure about getting it anyway, just frustrating when the timer ticks down and no claim button appears until it's too late.

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 21:12:54

My 18 yr old brother just set up an account with my card to buy a 2nd memory card grin. It worked!

Loupee Wed 21-Nov-12 21:15:55

I'm so happy with myself, got the Tassiimo machine for DH birthday, was planning on spending £90 on it anyway, so happy with £63. And the only other thing I bought was the helicopter for DH as a wee joke gift.
Only thing I was a bit gutted to miss out on were the Dr Seuss books, if anyone sees them elsewhere at a decent price, let me know!

spookysal Wed 21-Nov-12 21:23:01

Loupee - £10.50 on people. There's normally a free delivery code floating about.

AWimbaWay Wed 21-Nov-12 21:24:28

Dr Seuss here Loupee, think there might be free delivery codes mentioned up-thread too.

spookysal Wed 21-Nov-12 21:25:00

Oh that was a rubbish attempt at a link! Ignore that. Go onto bookpeople and search for 'Dr. Seuss: A Classic Treasury'. It's £10.39.

Snazzyfeelingfestive Wed 21-Nov-12 21:29:26

I got the Batman lego bundle for DS. I'm sure you can get the Dr Seuss elsewhere at equal or better prices. Plus I would go for the paperback not the hardback ones.

AWimbaWay Wed 21-Nov-12 21:33:14

You'd definitely get the dr Seuss somewhere else. I actually have the same collection (different cover etc but same books inside) which I got about 9 years ago when I worked at WHSmiths, as I was staff, I was able to buy them as penny stock, so I bought about 4 for a penny each! I have given the spare three away as gifts over the years, otherwise I would have sent you one!

AWimbaWay Wed 21-Nov-12 21:38:24

"think there might be free delivery codes mentioned up-thread too" blush sorry, thought this was the Christmas bargain thread, there are no codes on this thread!

Wimba grin

See you all tomorrow smile

Tortoise Wed 21-Nov-12 21:59:12

See you tomorrow.
I will be checking tomorrows deals at midnight! grin Addicted? no, not me!

Tortoise Thu 22-Nov-12 00:14:37

Only thing i want tomorrow so far is the doggy xmas hamper! grinshock I was hoping for lots of items that i need (want!)

NoSoggyBottoms Thu 22-Nov-12 00:19:23

Might have finally found something....the Alan Partridge DVD for FIL, although DP isn't sure at the moment.

Also, maybe the Bin Weevils and Hunger Games box set.

All depending on price....I need some serious bargains <sends wishes to Amazon fairies>

HarderToKidnap Thu 22-Nov-12 08:33:42

Was thinking about the Le Creuset but not at that discount. Next on the list is the steam mop and then the C&E hand cream for a SS present. That's it for today.

HarderToKidnap Thu 22-Nov-12 08:35:38

Oooh, brother wants Mad Men seasons 4 & 5 so might get the boxset depending on what it goes for...

Hi Harder, there is a new thread in the Christmas topic for today, sorry I can't do a link as on iPad. Hope you find us smile

Tortoise Thu 22-Nov-12 09:23:27

New thread here (hope link works!)
