Help me find a necklace that symbolises three children...

Husband has asked me what I would like for Christmas and what I would really love is a necklace that I know symbolises my three children (I don't need everyone else to know).

I have in my head a plain ish necklace with three charms or pendants but I don't want a charm as such like you'd see on a charm bracelet, most of my jewellery is quite simple. I looked at Pandora online but can't find what I'm looking for when I don't really even know what it is.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Ahardyfool Sat 17-Nov-12 19:20:03

Is if too naff to have 3 of their drawings made into 3 little charms. I mean, not so much that that is naff, but did you hope for something more symbolic?

www.lily-belle.co.uk

I've got one of the personalised bracelets and its lovely

NigellaEllaElla Sat 17-Nov-12 19:23:59

That would be lovely but two of them are very tiny and only producing scribbles wink but yeah I guess more of a symbol that I know there is one pendant/charm (not sure what else to call it) for each child. This last one was our last and I only had him this year so I thought it would be kind of nice to say kind of this is it in a way with a memento. I have two boys and a girl so I was thinking something like 2 pendants the same and one slightly different (maybe colour). It's awful when you have someone in your head but can't find it. Usually a dress!

Just found this on LillyBelle and love it www.lilybelle.co.uk/shop/personalised-silver-family-necklace/

NigellaEllaElla Sat 17-Nov-12 19:29:14

BOFing I Love it!!!!!!

My mum used to have a bracelet with gold, silver and bronze intertwined. It represented us as I had reddy blonde hair, dsis had goldy blonde hair and dbro had silvery blonde hair. Could you find something similar based on your children's features?

BOFingSanta Sat 17-Nov-12 19:29:50

Yay grin

NigellaEllaElla Sat 17-Nov-12 19:30:06

Looking at Kutuu now.

ScorpionQueen Sat 17-Nov-12 19:31:31

FannyFifer Sat 17-Nov-12 19:34:28

What about this by my favourite jewellery designer Alan Ardiff, www.kilkennyshop.com/jewellery/3-wishes-neckpiece.html
It's called 3 wishes, a heart, a star, and a kiss, one for each of your children. grin

Piemistress Sat 17-Nov-12 19:35:30

Marking place for later!

GobblersSparklyExplodingKnob Sat 17-Nov-12 19:41:15

Like BOF's but sightly different (and a bit cheaper) from Etsy we had one of these made for my Mil's 65th, with all the gc fingerprints and it was beautiful.

NigellaEllaElla Sat 17-Nov-12 19:43:15

Oh that is beautiful Gobbler. notice it's a US price. Just wondering about timings now with 5 wks to Christmas.....

GobblersSparklyExplodingKnob Sat 17-Nov-12 19:45:52

No, she's in the UK, all the prices on Etsy are in $ as it is a US site.

I think ours took 2 and a half weeks from requesting the kit for the prints to getting the necklace back smile

NigellaEllaElla Sat 17-Nov-12 19:47:27

Fab, I think that might be my favourite.

Gottalovecosta Sat 17-Nov-12 19:49:05

I've heavily hinted for this: http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/poshtotty/product/personalised-mummy-and-babies-necklace

NigellaEllaElla Sat 17-Nov-12 19:51:54

Gotta - someone else has recommended that one and it is def on short list. Beautiful.

GraceOfWrath Sat 17-Nov-12 19:55:44

I have a one of these necklaces with DD's birthstone and her date of birth on it. When I have this next baby I will add his stone to it too. You could have their dates of births or their names engraved on them.

oldraver Sat 17-Nov-12 20:36:53

I was going to suggest something along the lines of the three birthstones, either Pandora style or something made for you

oldraver Sat 17-Nov-12 21:01:19

I've just remembered Wendy Kemp

Not a necklace: Personalised bangle!

chocolatespiders Sat 17-Nov-12 21:08:40

Love all of these and have added to my favourites smile

would love something like this for my 2 girls

chocolatespiders Sat 17-Nov-12 21:10:33

how would you send off fingerprints?

JoyceDivision Sat 17-Nov-12 21:13:37

thre's the necklace with a silvre or gold pod opened with three peas in?

HanSolo Sat 17-Nov-12 21:19:55

Oh- I love the Wendy Kemp stuff!

NigellaEllaElla Sat 17-Nov-12 21:28:12

Love the Wendy Kemp one too.

Had narrowed it down to two now we're back up to three.

I have a silver one from NOTHS with three small discs on with each initial on, quite small and plain.

OneHandWavingFree Sat 17-Nov-12 21:31:22

The fingerprints one that BOF linked to said something about the children being over 1 year old, in order to have fingerprints developed enough to take.

I'm only mentioning it as I get the impression it's your frontrunner, OP, but did you say that your littlest is newborn?

I love the one Gotta linked to.

NigellaEllaElla Sat 17-Nov-12 21:34:36

Short list is -

spiders, they send you a kit.

Lastyearsmodel Sat 17-Nov-12 21:35:48

Sorry, bit late to the party but I had one made by Corrina Smith at Green River Studios. It has the heart charm/pendant from that link plus oblong and petal-shaped pendants like this one with my 3 DC's names on one side and birthdates on the back.

Corrina was amazingly helpful and emailed me sketches and proofs before making it. Could also choose from lots of lampwork beads. The necklace is my no. 1 most treasured possession, has had many compliments and goes with almost everything I own. Price was reasonable too.

NigellaEllaElla Sat 17-Nov-12 21:35:54

Oh sorry! Hang on will put them in []

Squiglettsmummy2bx Sat 17-Nov-12 21:36:51

For mothers day I had a charm made with my 6 week old DS foot prints & for Xmas I'm getting a charm with DS 7 & DD 9 finger prints on from www.casting2impress.com
I also have a foot & hand cast of DS2 & that's gorgeous grin

PS lots of choice of chain too, as I'm not keen on the bobbly dogtag type in some of the pics.

I had something similar to this from this seller on Etsy. I've bought a couple more since. Her stuff is gorgeous.

anja1cam Sat 17-Nov-12 21:44:59

I've been looking for somethign like this too and found lotsof options on https://www.notonthehighstreet.com with initials, or names, or just elements... I think I'll go for rings on a chain:

NigellaEllaElla Sat 17-Nov-12 21:48:50

There's a fab maker on NOTHS called Lily Charmed who used to do pendants with stick girl/boy drawings. They do initials and others too. You can basically design your own combination. I'll try to link in a moment.

p.s. with NOTHS, it's worth buying from their individual sites as the businesses pay quite a bit of commission to NOTHS. (my dsil has a business on there - NOT lily charmed though grin).
