Has anyone seen (or even know if they exist) packs of Spot The Dog board books? I know The Book People do packs of paperback Spot books, but I've never seen them in board book format, with the lift the flaps etc. They're quite pricey to buy individually as board books, even with all our lovely discount codes smile

Thanks!

I have a code for 25% off toys at elc and mothercare.

This code has been shared on HDUK, but when people are using it they are being declined because you have to have recieved the email to be allowed to use the code.

I'm not using mine, I'm pretty pee'd off with elc at the minute so I'm putting it here for you to try!

The code is CHRISTMAS25% and my email reference is 3BED-CZZU-WWYM-5DVP-B7S4.

They might only let you use it once so first come first served, but hopefully they will let you all use it!

Check your email, because it looks like a mass send out so you may already have your own code and reference. It seems from what i read on HDUK that the CHRISTMAS25% is the code for everyone, but the email reference will differ.

pengymum Tue 06-Nov-12 11:28:53

Why is it that adults are so less fun to buy for? I could buy a stack more for DCs (which have just told me all they want for Christmas is Duplo - thank god there is abit amongst what I have for them) but can't get inspired for grown ups - not even me!

BerthaTheBogBurglar Tue 06-Nov-12 19:54:11

Bertha yes you can take your vouchers into store. That's what I will be doing, just waiting on my last lot of vouchers to come.

Spent some in store at the weekend too.

rhondajean Tue 06-Nov-12 20:37:23

No idea how good this would work out as I've noticed their prices on other things are usually a pound or two more expensive than elsewhere but I've just got an email from hamleys saying that they are giving you a free playmobil recycling truck worth £23 if you spend £60 on playmobil.

Kelly281 Tue 06-Nov-12 20:41:17

Hamleys have these Playmobil offers at the moment:

Free recycling truck when you spend £60
Free deposit tipper when you spend £40

Also, for anyone who likes Yankee candles. Yankeedirect.com are doing the following:

£11 off £70 spend: JOY15
£6 off £50: JOY6
£3 off £30: JOY3

:-)

Beawheesht you were asking about Fuzzy felt sets? I saw small stocking filler size unbranded sets in The Works and Poundland for 99p. They had a ballerina one, a farm one, can't remember the others, but a few different varieties. I think they have them online if you look at The Works website.

oreocrumbs Tue 06-Nov-12 21:11:46

Have just spotted this on the book people site. Have bought a few as gifts.

DD has this book and it is beautiful, it is quite big, the illustrations are stunning and they are embossed. It looks like a very expensive book. £2.99 on the book people and 264XMAS for free del.

oreocrumbs Tue 06-Nov-12 21:15:29

Have also bought a few novelty books for the men folk. Things like How to outwit Aristotle, uglier than a moneys armpit, and the secret lives of numbers. All hardback and around the £3/4 mark.

Thought they would pad out the very meagre piles my men have compared to my ladies grin

RugBugs Tue 06-Nov-12 21:55:33

No idea if this is just my local store but popped into mothercare this eve to pick up some games and they were half price (I knew this) but also came up as bogof so we have two games for £6 plus my 25% discount!

spookysal Tue 06-Nov-12 22:22:54

oreocrumbs - Thanks for the link, the animal tales book looks lovely. What age range would it suit?

BuffyFairy Tue 06-Nov-12 22:29:00

Moosey, you have been amazing on these threads thanks thanks for the tip about Look mag.

Did that Vtech code at Asda start working?

I have a spare mothercare / elc 25% off code if anyone needs it.

AudrinaAdare Tue 06-Nov-12 22:30:40

DS will love that book oreo thanks

oreocrumbs Tue 06-Nov-12 22:30:56

DD is 2 she got it when she was 1.5, I have just bought it for a 3.5 yr old too. So I would say up to 5/6 really. The book people were listing it as suitable for age 3+

It is four stories, which are quite sweet but the pictures are stunning. DD isn't interested in the story yet, but enjoys sitting and going through the pictures and identifying things, so I wouldn't worry about getting it for a young one.

oreocrumbs Tue 06-Nov-12 22:32:31

To be fair if there is no Gruffalo in a story then my DD isn't intresed in it full stop grin

oreocrumbs Tue 06-Nov-12 22:35:18

It has 3 stories not 4 sorry! - just picked it up to have a look, think we will read that again tomorrow.

BeaLola Tue 06-Nov-12 22:38:53

LaTrucha Wed 07-Nov-12 07:21:14

I didn't realise the 10% extra in Gap was only in store. I spent ages trying to find four things yesterday! Oh well, I got new cami tops for me for about 6.50 each and as I'm still in my baggy maternity ones two and a half years after last DC was born, that can't be bad!

BeaWheesht Wed 07-Nov-12 08:51:47

Tempted by the dolls house but will resist!!!

Did you read the reviews? 'very easy to assemble my wife could do it!!!! Which is a huge bonus for me not being nagged to do it'

oreocrumbs Wed 07-Nov-12 08:56:33

shock No I didn't! Cheeky bugger.

I thought the mums did all of the assembling - thats what happens here. Apart from last year and DP built DD's kitchen. I took her out all day so he could do it. He started at 11am and finished at almost 9pm confused.

He was close to tears when I came home at 6!!

LaTrucha Wed 07-Nov-12 09:01:07

What Book People codes are good at the moment. I've bought lots of books but I am tempted by those two!

LaTrucha Wed 07-Nov-12 09:07:28

Trumpton - does that Hotel Chocolat code only work on specific things? I cn't find a selection box for £18.95 on their site. Thanks.

trumpton Wed 07-Nov-12 09:13:54

My link should take you straight to the Chocolate tasting club page .

bodyshop 10% off is NEXT10, I know there have been better offers but it might be useful to someone.

If anyone has a mothercare code I'd be really grateful. My lovely dad is buying DS2 a Tripp Trapp high chair for Christmas & would save him a fair bit!

Away to look to see if the great deal vista print had on photo calanders is still on.

Murtette Wed 07-Nov-12 10:16:21

Are ELC still doing 20% off everything if you spend £75? This is me being very greedy as I have a 25% off code but I was thinking that if I could double the codes up, I could get her all of the ELC doll's house furniture for £40 (rather than £75). The ASDA furniture only costs £12 for the lot but there's no where near as much of it and its a lot more basic.
If I am able to double up on the ELC codes, I may start worrying as to whether I'm going to send them into insolvency this Christmas. Can they be making much money with all of these offers?

iloveholidays Wed 07-Nov-12 10:17:25

twirlyagogo Wed 07-Nov-12 12:12:33

I'm after the Storytime Interactive Tatty Teddy and one of the other Blue Nose Interactive Friends - cheapest I can see is a catalogue where I'd get both for £45 after introductory voucher taken off, but has anyone seen a better offer?

Was in local Poundland earlier this week and they have the Jelly Belly candles (all sweetie flavours) in stock, good for stocking fillers and lots of Tatty Teddy stationery too.

I think I got an elc code but deleted it - will see if I still have that too.

3bunnies Wed 07-Nov-12 13:02:08

No proof of dob required for big birthday either so hypothetically you could spread out your dc's birthdays wishes had done this with dd1+2 rather than getting two at same time then nothing for months and months .

On the thorntons site if you look for the classics box which is £10. Add 5 to your cart and they should come down to 5 boxes for £20. I have mine and have to say I would never pay £10 for a box alone. You only get one layer of chocs.

SupercoolMummy Wed 07-Nov-12 13:11:12

twirlyagogo the blue nose friends are buy two get one free on littlewoods.com but worth checking if cheaper elsewhere £6 each so £12 for three, the secret wardrobe is on the three for 2 at £16.00 so could be combined with the teddies. Tatty ted is £19 but comes with free pyjamas. Storytime interactive ted is £43 so abit much

BerryLellow Wed 07-Nov-12 13:35:10

Hadn't even noticed I'd been sent an ELC code - it was buried in my Pinterest notifications!

Dithering about whether to put the order in now, or hang on and see if there's anything else I want.

Tesco are selling all their toiletry gift sets at half price atm.

twirlyagogo Wed 07-Nov-12 13:39:46

Thanks waiting! It's the interactive I'm after - usually £35, so that's a huge hike isn't it? Hoping I find a disgruntled teen who wants to sell me their whole collection as I'll be bankrupt at this rate!

They have got the interactive sheeps/penguin ect for cheaper but dont think they do as much? cant be sure though they are all quite new to me!

3bunnies Wed 07-Nov-12 13:40:53

I got a voucher, haven't yet decided if I'm going to use it, but I tend to ignore elc as my dc, other than ds have grown out of much of their stuff. The first box was absolutely delish but every box after that was a big disappointment - a bit like all their failed attempts at chocolates put in a box. I think they pick the best ones for the first box to get you thinking you should continue and then hope you can't be bothered to stop it! Just incase you were thinking of keeping it up for a few months.

MonsterBookOfTyFawkes Wed 07-Nov-12 14:08:05

Should add the offer is on till the 14/11, just looked on amazon and the castle has gone down from £60 to £50 so Tesco is quite a good offer smile

oreocrumbs Wed 07-Nov-12 14:48:35

Have been to sainsburys store today skiving for a bacon sanwich when I was supposed to be at work, got a few gift sets - mandara spa which are nice, for a couple of pounds and some boxes of chocolate.

Everythings 1/3 off so they are down to just a few pounds. Online too.

Have mnetters been having trouble with delivery?

OvO Wed 07-Nov-12 15:48:51

Sainsburys have Angry Birds speakers half price. Just got one for my DS1 - was only £12.50. There were different birds to choose. I've had a wee play of it just now and it's pretty good. Looks cute too.

Just found this Gruffalo Giant Snap game at WHSmith reduced to £5.49. Cheapest I've seen it. I DD will love this game smile

MistressIggi Wed 07-Nov-12 17:19:55

Mummy1986 - I think H&M are just very slow. When checked my account online I saw the items haven't been dispatched yet.

Allice Wed 07-Nov-12 17:21:35

Today's Groupon goods offer is for Pandora bracelets, pretty good saving although old stock and doesn't have the crown (or something!) Sizes are selling out quickly though.

Also, just seen on MSE that http://www.giftedpenguin.co.uk/ has buy one get second thing half price until Friday 9th.

jumblequeen Wed 07-Nov-12 17:22:24

Mummy1986 - I agree with MistressIggi re: H&M... Quite often my orders are split up, with the latter part taking an age to arrive. Watch out for that!

MooseyMoo Wed 07-Nov-12 17:42:35

Night before Christmas 1 at M&S

Part of three for two. Currently cannot order for store collect but you can ring and CS will amend for you.

WannaSplitAPineapple Wed 07-Nov-12 18:01:48

I've just rung mothercare got them to price match the castle and then used my 25% off voucher! Thank you so much for telling me about that deal. I love this thread grin

oreocrumbs Wed 07-Nov-12 18:17:08

R.e the h&m dispatch, I ordered the aprons etc too and it did say at the time that the dispatch date would be around the 12th Nov. I think iirc that they weren't in stock at the time. I had an email a day or so ago saying that they had now been dispatched so hopefully thay will be sent out soon.

Free £30 elmis night resurfacing cream 30 ml when you buy the nov/dec issue of brides magazine.

Coupon inside that you redeem at debenhams, john lewis or harvey nichols.

Not sure how much the magazine costs - probably about £5, so if anyone wants to add to the ever growing pile of luxury lotions and potions here is another one!

EdsRedeemingQualities Wed 07-Nov-12 18:25:01

Just noticed someone's linked to Easyart again - for all I know they might usuallly be Ok, but do be careful as I had a two or three week despatch wait for my (two) prints, and the day AFTER the supposed despatch I got an email saying the main one I wanted was out of stock and would not be coming in again.
So I cancelled the order.
If you're pushed for time and ordering nearer to Christmas, then just be aware that this can happen, so have a contingency plan smile

oreocrumbs Wed 07-Nov-12 18:26:11

Comet have 10% off ipad/apple macs and 15% off bose (prpobably more).

Now not sure where you would stand with the guarantee and such if/when they close, but thought I'd mention it anyway.

lazzaroo Wed 07-Nov-12 18:32:40

BDM5 gets you £5 off a £20 spend at the works. Couldn't use multiple codes to get free delivery too but that's only 99p.

lazzaroo Wed 07-Nov-12 18:33:32

That code expires on 12th Nov.

shortie3 Wed 07-Nov-12 19:21:09

WannaSplitAPineapple, this may be a stupid question but how did you get Mothercare to price match and use your 25% code. I can't see the Imaginext Castle online and also after one!

oreocrumbs Wed 07-Nov-12 19:28:42

MonsterBookOfTyFawkes Wed 07-Nov-12 19:33:21

I got the castle before I posted it earlier and there was 6 left on the shelf in Northampton mereway if anyone lives closeish.
I'd offer to help get it but it is quite heavy so would cost a lot in postage.
Also got this instore it is £31.99 normally £39.99 at toys r us etc.
With my clubcard exchange £10 I got it all for £55, the price the castle should of been grin
I hope some people manage to get the castles.

HTH grin

shortie3 Wed 07-Nov-12 19:37:04

Monster, thanks for the details about the Castle. None in my 2 Tescos. Have found it online at Mothercare but wondered how WannaSplitAPineapple got her 25% code applied since it said on the site, it would not allow any vouchers to be used. Holding out in case, I can get it cheaper!

Oodthunkit Wed 07-Nov-12 19:41:16

Any ideas for a just 3 year old boy I vaguely know ? want to spend 5-8 but look like something better grin

Taffeta Wed 07-Nov-12 19:41:23

Oodthunkit that Animal tales book I linked to yesterday £2.99. Use code FESTIVE for 10% off that and 264XMAS for free delivery.

When I got it as a gift last year I thought a lot of money had been spent on it (actually it probably had, my aunt is loverley but a bit of a snob and only shops in posh shops! She probably paid the rrp).

I'm just heading over there now to order some more!

WannaSplitAPineapple Wed 07-Nov-12 20:00:24

shortie I called mothercares price match number and told the lady it was on the hot deals uk website that it was in tesco for £33. To find it I told her to google hot deals uk imaginex castle and she found it. They price matched a few other bits and at the end I asked could I use my 25% off code and she did! I got about £170 worth of imaginex stuff for £90! Worth ringing them and asking, even if for some reason you can't get the 25% off its probably easier to get from mothercare than to try and get it in tesco. Good luck wink

Taffeta Wed 07-Nov-12 20:01:48

oreocrumbs Wed 07-Nov-12 20:14:49

Does anyone know if the 264XMAS for the book people is a use once code? Used it yesterday and I'm on now trying to order more and can't.

Have used FESTIVE, so might that be blocking it? Have tried all of the other free del codes on this thread too.

I want another one of those books! Must learn to count how many little people I have to buy for.

Also how can I get Festive off to see if that is the problem? Have deleted basket signed out etc and when I came back it applied it automatically.

Don't want to pay for delivery!

jimswife It says 3+ but I am buying for children aged 1-5.

I don't know if anyone's posted already but Smyths have got some good prices on World of Warcraft Megabloks. I wasn't buying anything else then got a bit excited when I saw it and bought some for my two elder teenage dcs. They are 14 and 15 but have suddenly rediscovered lego.

Lastyearsmodel Wed 07-Nov-12 21:16:44

Anyone mentioned the Laura Ashley glitch? Only working tonight, so the rumour goes... 30% off promotion working at the same time as 3 for 2 on gifts/accessories. Topcashback 7% and N501 gives 10% to take the sting out of £4.50 P&P.

Search main site for '3 for 2' and it brings up lots of items. Discount shows up at checkout. Lovely fragrance sets, china mugs, pic frames, etc. Apparently the glitch will be fixed overnight so be quick!

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend Wed 07-Nov-12 21:52:31

Do the body shop codes still work? Thinking about ordering a few things to put in with my sil and friends presents, think I've missed all the best bargains though.

MistressIggi Wed 07-Nov-12 21:58:32

Very interesting, Lastyearsmodel. thanks Am so used to Boots' 3 for 2 system, have only just realised Laura Ashley is just giving the 2 cheapest itms (out of 6) - going to empty basket and start again!

DangerousMouse Wed 07-Nov-12 22:09:18

That Laura Ashley sale and glitch is great, I've just ordered £144 worth of gifts for £42 with delivery. DS's playgroup teachers all have very posh gift sets for christmas rather than a box of quality streets! Thanks..

dementedma Wed 07-Nov-12 22:09:21

Asda has half price clothes sale. just bought lovely fluffy burgundy dressing gown for my dad reduced from £14 to a fiver, and a stripey hoody for DS down from £9 to £5

rhondajean Wed 07-Nov-12 22:30:36

Code n501 will give you an extra 10 percent off Laura Ashley if you are a new customer. It's working with the 3 for 2 and the 30 percent off.

Happy me.

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest Wed 07-Nov-12 22:34:38

Can any of you lovely folks tell me where you buy reasonable quality wrapping paper and Christmas cards from at a reasonable price? I do try and buy them in the January sales but after DC1 was in hospital at the end of last year, I couldn't face the sales.

oreocrumbs Wed 07-Nov-12 22:36:59

Zeeky I got it from HUKD this morning. Just had a go and I can't get it work either. Sorry. There is a KN2 that gets 10% off that works, but that was just on the cloggs site itself.

AudrinaAdare Wed 07-Nov-12 22:41:36

Survival M&S are doing 3 for 2 on wrapping paper here

Really pretty, good quality and I especially love the little grids on the back as I am atrocious at cutting in a straight line.

Even the £6 "I Believe" wrapping pack is included in the offer and it has gorgeous tags which can be used for Christmas Eve hamper or Elf on the Shelf if you do it.

loflo Wed 07-Nov-12 22:48:37

shewhowines Wed 07-Nov-12 23:41:11

twirlyagogo the blue nose friends are buy two get one free on littlewoods.com but worth checking if cheaper elsewhere £6 each so £12 for three, the secret wardrobe is on the three for 2 at £16.00 so could be combined with the teddies. Tatty ted is £19 but comes with free pyjamas. Storytime interactive ted is £43 so abit much

The same ones are only £5 each at very.com. Interactive ones £20 I think

shewhowines Wed 07-Nov-12 23:41:45

Sorry 3 for 2 as well

MistressIggi Thu 08-Nov-12 00:31:45

Rhondajean, that's very interesting. The Comet nearest to me has already closed down and become a bargain store! But must be somewhere else.. Just as long as you're not worried about the warranty, I suppose?

GraceOfWrath Thu 08-Nov-12 06:43:01

LOLOLOL thanks not [flowers] blush

3bunnies Thu 08-Nov-12 06:45:45

Warranty should be ok, there will be a 12 month manufacturers warranty anyway (as long as you have reciept). Plus their warranty is from a different company (not sure if they are still selling it though), and if you pay by credit card then you get additional protection if over 100 pounds. It would be more hassle though as would require phone calls etc rather than going to the store.

BeaWheesht Thu 08-Nov-12 07:25:39

Persuesbypenguinss - did you get my pm?

Oodthunkit Thu 08-Nov-12 07:26:19

WannaSplitAPineapple Thu 08-Nov-12 08:57:17

Not sure if they are still doing the 3 for 2 on reduced items as the glitch may have been fixed!

bleedingheart Thu 08-Nov-12 09:26:09

Music & rock band logo t-shirts 30% off all items until Sunday 11th November. Great for the discerning muso!

MistressIggi Thu 08-Nov-12 09:33:30

Oh, shall I lug myself and baby to the Comet on far side of city I wonder? Would only be after a tv or a coffee maker I think. Bought a lovely oven from comet last year.

MistressIggi Thu 08-Nov-12 09:34:54

WeAllHaveWings Thu 08-Nov-12 09:45:13

Just ordered an iPod Touch 16GB for ds from Tesco.

Cost £159 + £3 delivery.

Got 2149 clubcard points (= £21.49, will keep and double up to ~£43 at next event)

Also used dh's email address and code TDX-WRKT for £10 off first Tesco direct delivery.

So got for £159 + £3 - £43 - £10 = £109 smile

EdsRedeemingQualities Thu 08-Nov-12 09:57:07

I went in Comet the other day as we were next to it anyway - barely anything was reduced, but I guess they need to make as much as they can to pay off their debts?

I said I was sorry they are closing. They all looked pretty fed up.

MistressIggi Thu 08-Nov-12 10:01:52

Could anyone who's been to Primark tell me about the Christmas duvets? Do they do adult/double ones as well as kids? blush

Lastyearsmodel Thu 08-Nov-12 10:27:31

The Laura Ashley thing was a glitch giving 3 for 2 and 30% off at the same time. It was reportedly going to be fixed overnight so have no idea how long it will be valid for. The 3 for 2s can be found by searching the LA website for '3 for 2'.

whoneedstosleep Thu 08-Nov-12 10:33:54

dinkydoos Thu 08-Nov-12 10:34:00

Hi

Delurking to say big thanks for this thread and to let you know the Laura Ashley thing still works.

Some decent presents there, as said search on 3 for 2. But beware as if you buy a lot of items at different prices it just takes of the cheapest three, so stick to similar price items for max discount! The code n501 also worked for extra 10%.

I got Lots of these for teacher gifts

www.lauraashley.com/invt/3534855

£7 each bit on 3 for 2 , makes them less than a fiver each.

Happy shopping, really must stop looking at this thread, and do some work!

Think I might order some wrapping paper!

notso Thu 08-Nov-12 10:48:25

WeAllHaveWings does your DH have his own clubcard, I tried to use DH's email with my CC number and it wouldn't let me. sad

Haven't read entire thread(s), but thought I'd give the heads up about the Lego Monsters castle thingy. It's £59.99 on Amazon, £79.99 everywhere else I've seen it. Just ordered one for DS2.

Arithmeticulous Thu 08-Nov-12 11:27:35

You know what - I'm done grin

I can't possibly spend any more. I've bought from Nike, Body Shop, Debenhams, Dotcomgiftshop, Time to Spa, Boots, Figleaves, White Company, Book People, Red House, Schoolastic, La Redoute, eBay, ELC, Yellow Moon, Amazon ... I've bought for 8 adults and 20+ kids, 6 teachers - I've not paid full price for anything grin

Thank you.

mummy1986 Thu 08-Nov-12 11:30:11

do you have to put a code in for the 3 for 2 on laura ashley?

Heavywheezing Thu 08-Nov-12 11:49:16

N549 for free delivery with. Laura ashley

dinkydoos Thu 08-Nov-12 12:04:59

Mummy1986
You don't need a code for the 3 for 2 , it just does it when you check out, but also a space to put in extra codes like ones mentioned arlier for 10 % off or free del.

Chockywockydoodah Thu 08-Nov-12 12:09:21

Heavy N549 did not work for me, says invalid promotion code. And it states that it does not apply to gift certificates. I wonder if this could also be because I'm not a first time shopper with Laura Ashley?

No biggie, I really didn't need to buy the items in my shopping basket anyway, I only wanted to buy them!!! Must stop looking at this thread and spending....I'm addicted..... wink

3bunnies Thu 08-Nov-12 12:11:16

Just been to comet's 'fire sale', more like simmering ashes imho. 10 percent off full price for most things, 20 percent off ink, but still was more expensive than internet, and 30 percent off a few things. Most people were just browsing. It's a shame as their customer service was better than some of the competition, but I decided for just a 10 percent saving I would wait for the real sales and get things I can return easily, or until they cut prices further.

Just tried again WeAllHaveWings but it won't let me.
Still a good offer with the extra points, but the ten pounds off would have been nice.

WeAllHaveWings Thu 08-Nov-12 13:16:04

notso, worked it out.

A couple of months ago I got a Tesco credit card and a new clubcard number which they transferred all my old clubcard points to.

My internet signon has my old clubcard number on. Thats why it let me set it up.

You could possibly get a new clubcard number for your dh and use it for the deal (bit of a faff for £10).

Will wait until I've got my iPod and points before I try and change it!

reastie Thu 08-Nov-12 13:21:25

Am dithering on the LA site but can't get free delivery code to work, and as I'm pretty much done on the shopping front can't justify more generic presents when I don't have anyone to give them to. Might check out Harrods though as want to get DD a nice bauble for the christmas tree (I realise that sounds like we'll have a bare christmas tree with one bauble on it - what I mean is a nice one to add to our collection!)

notso Thu 08-Nov-12 13:23:48

Knowing my luck the offer will have finished by the time I fanny around getting him a clubcard!

Nevermind and thanks for pointing it out though, was going to go or the 8GB from Argos for £135 with £10 voucher back but this is much better!

mummy1986 Thu 08-Nov-12 13:26:21

Has anyone seen a code for the book depository?
Need some Dr suess books for my friends daughter, and would love to get a bargin!

BuffyFairy Thu 08-Nov-12 15:22:44

Thanks for the tip on Laura Ashley. Just got some nice biscuits in gorgeous tins for a hamper I'm doing.

They took the free delivery off the product price and applied the 10% to the balance and then added delivery but still a good saving.

BuffyFairy Thu 08-Nov-12 15:23:38

I'm not sure if this thread is saving me a fortune or encouraging me to buy more grin

oreocrumbs Thu 08-Nov-12 15:24:38

WannaSplitAPineapple I can't find any active codes for notonthehighstreet. By the looks of it they seem to put out 10% off codes quite often. Last one expired end of October.

If you join their facebook page they sometimes put codes out on there. Otherwise its a case of wait and see I'm afraid!

Went to the entertainer toy shop today, bought some sets of Hama beads for half price £4.50 each (for the small 1500 piece sets). Not showing online so keep an eye out if you have a store near you.

Also bought some perfumes and aftershaves in boots 100ml for the price of 30ml.

MooseyMoo Thu 08-Nov-12 15:27:50
BeaWheesht Thu 08-Nov-12 15:49:01

In tesco today they have lots of craft sets - I got a set to make peg people and a set to make key rings and badges - £2.50ish each.

I wrote down everything I've bought the kids the other night - I wish I hadn't an dh must never know

3bunnies Thu 08-Nov-12 15:58:34

Er Bea won't he find out on Christmas Day, or does he still believe? Dh always grumbles about how many presents I get, even though lots are charity shop bargains. He does still believe in the wrapping fairy though so doesn't realise until it's too late grin

BeaWheesht Thu 08-Nov-12 16:06:46

Oh yes but some is for ds' birthday and rest will be spread out on the day so it won't look so bad much

armani Thu 08-Nov-12 16:17:52

He he my dh is a fellow moaner, I call him the grinch! I always stash the presents away, so that he doesn't notice them!

BeaWheesht Thu 08-Nov-12 16:26:22

I saw black Santa hats with bah humbug on - sorely tempted to buy dh one!

I'm not ridiculous by the way and spending way too much. If I budget to spend £50 say but get bargains and only spend £25 then I'll buy more stuff within budget whereas dh would just pocket the £25

pigleychez Thu 08-Nov-12 16:27:29

How typical that the Laura Ashley deal is still on after I was up at midnight last doing it thinking it was ending over night!

Oh well, got some good gifts.

Still struggling on Adults though.. Kids were easy thanks to this thread smile thanks

not much to add. Asda today seemed to have have quite a few toys on offer.-Didnt get a good look as DD2 was with me and moaning for lunch!
They also have a half price clothes sale on and picked up a few Peppa pig/Hello Kitty tops for the girls for only 2 or 3 pounds each.

pigleychez Thu 08-Nov-12 16:30:15

Dh has learnt not to ask. Although did almost fall off his chair at the price of DD1's Lego!

Hes generally just happy that he doesn't have to do it!

notso Thu 08-Nov-12 16:50:07

I have another grinch here, he was hmm when all DS2's happyland fell out the wardrobe the other night. I quickly told him to ignore the prices on the boxes it was all half price or less!

was there a free delivery for the laura ashley anywhere?

twirlyagogo Thu 08-Nov-12 16:58:56

Tuttutitlookslikerain Thu 08-Nov-12 18:54:04

Should've said the selection boxes are Cadburys.

Oodthunkit Thu 08-Nov-12 18:57:08

platespinnermum Thu 08-Nov-12 19:26:10

Anyone seen any good deals on Scalextric sets?

WannaSplitAPineapple Thu 08-Nov-12 19:26:48

oreo thanks for looking. I will hold out and see if a code appears in the next few weeks. I hope Santa brings you lots of a good present to reward you.

I wonder if shortie got her castle from mothercare.

If you register with mamas and papas they send you an email for a £5 voucher. You have to spend over £10 but I've just got a passport cover for £8 instead of £13 plus you get free delivery to store.

I can't remember who asked but I was in primark today and they did have adult Xmas bedding. I don't think DH would have been impressed if I got it so I settled for an Xmas throw instead.

Tuttutitlookslikerain Thu 08-Nov-12 19:27:56

Ood, I think it is today, tomorrow and Saturday. I noticed it when I did my online shop, so I ordered 6 as it is a really cheap way of getting chocolate! blush

platespinnermum Thu 08-Nov-12 19:33:43

Just seen on Argos' facebook page that 3 for 2 on toys is back - tomorrow until end of next Tuesday, in store only but you can reserve & collect.

rhondajean Thu 08-Nov-12 19:35:43

Ha! I said on another thread it was coming back and then other people piled on to say no it wasn't (Argos 3 for 2).

<looks smug>

MistressIggi Thu 08-Nov-12 19:39:30

Wannasplitapineapple - that was me, asking about duvets. As it happens I was near Primark today so went in to see - could see no Xmas duvets at all, maybe they were located somewhere else but I was in such a bad mood by then (had pram, ridiculous store plan and lifts miles away) that I just went home.
I find myself agreeing with the poster who wondered if the bargains were saving her money, or encouraging her to spend more! (Have decided I really need a special duvet cover for December!)

shortie3 Thu 08-Nov-12 19:48:39

Wanna, did not get a Castle sad. Was on the phone just after 8am and it ran out of stock whilst I waiting in the phone queue! Hoping it gets back in stock soon!

shortie3 Thu 08-Nov-12 19:50:09

Ood, Tesco offer started today and it is just the medium boxes. You are allowed to up to 18, I only bought 12!

Oodthunkit Thu 08-Nov-12 19:53:58

Ooh thanks, saw it on a thread a couple of days ago but could only go yesterday plus they were supposed to have discos on BOGTF and I'm craving them

WannaSplitAPineapple Thu 08-Nov-12 19:55:07

In our primark they were in the home section. I hit primark early to avoid the crowds but agree its a nightmare store to tackle with a pram.
This thread is defo encouraging me to spend more. I can't resist a bargain.

WannaSplitAPineapple Thu 08-Nov-12 19:58:34

That's blumming annoying shortie do you have a mothercare near you? Could you go in and show them the page on HDUK and see if they will price match? You can use your 25% off in store to I think.

TheHAUNTEDHouseofMirth Thu 08-Nov-12 20:13:36

Chockywockydoodah Thu 08-Nov-12 20:16:17

I saw the Primark Christmas duvets in their window display. White background with Nordic type patterns in red and navy with a matching Nordic fleece throw (red and white).

Doshusallie Thu 08-Nov-12 20:21:29

Ironic comments about primary being a hassle with a pram - they are a client of mine, and have often told me their stores layouts are designed with shopping mothers with prams specifically in mind - one store manager actually walks the aisles with a broom handle ensuring the width is adequate....

oreocrumbs Thu 08-Nov-12 20:27:01

I think they need a bigger broom in the Metrocentre store grin

I struggle getting a basket round never mind the pram!

shortie3 Thu 08-Nov-12 20:29:00

No, Wanna the nearest is about 30 mins drive and only has tiny toy section. You can use the voucher instore but I think you were very lucky grin when they accepted your voucher since I read other threads in HDUK and they said they would take the lower price, e.g price match or apply discount code.

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 20:36:06

Wow thanks for the LA code, that's an amazing saving, and I've got some lovelt stuff for the nursery staff!

Kelly281 Thu 08-Nov-12 20:53:36

Thanks for the Laura Ashley info. I found a free delivery code N549, so it was a real bargain! I was unable to use the 10% off code on top of this, but since I was only spending £5 on 3 tubes of biscuits, free postage worked out the best deal for me.

vigglewiggle Thu 08-Nov-12 20:54:43

How do I do the Laura Ashley 3 for 2? I can't find the offer on the website. confused

crazygracieuk Thu 08-Nov-12 20:57:54

Argos 3 for 2 on all toys starts tomorrow so get reserving tonight!

(Source is Argos Facebook page)

oreocrumbs Thu 08-Nov-12 21:02:05

Not the deal of the centuary but worth a mention. If you withdraw cash from a co op cash machine you get a £1 off a £10 spend voucher.

MistressIggi Thu 08-Nov-12 21:03:43

Chocky, I like the sound of that. May have to go back...
Doshusallie the problem today was that Home stuff is on the first floor, as per signs at lift. No probs, get lift, go to first floor. No home stuff. Ask assistant. Yes, it is on first floor, but the first floor is split confused so you have to get in lift on oppostite side of store, travel up to second floor, and then back down to first.
Interesting that free delivery is working today for Laura Ashley - I tried that code last night with no luck. Wanted some of those biscuits, but not a good buy if paying postage!

izzywizzyisbizzy Thu 08-Nov-12 21:08:39

Im really confused by Laura Ashley, my basket said £9.50 but my receipt says £14.000?

AWimbaWay Thu 08-Nov-12 21:23:47

Could it be the £4.50 postage added izzy?

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 21:24:35

Izzy that sounds like £4.50 delivery. Did you enter the free delivery code?

Has anyone tried the festive biscuits? Thinking of getting 3 for preschool as a little bit different to the tin of cadburys I was going to pick up from tesco...

pinknanny Thu 08-Nov-12 21:25:28

Does anyone know/think that the argos 3 for 2 will work alongside the exsisting 2 for £15 toy offer? Sorry if a stupid question. X

izzywizzyisbizzy Thu 08-Nov-12 21:25:41

yes it is, but it said it was applying the code, I think I will wait for them to arrive and then query it as I want them regardless, they are Lily of the Valley candles for DS teachers.

izzywizzyisbizzy Thu 08-Nov-12 21:26:31

I did apply the code - and it said it worked and showed in basket as working, the email receipt shows it being charged, has it worked for everyone else?

kiwidreamer Thu 08-Nov-12 21:37:00

vigglewiggle Thu 08-Nov-12 21:40:05

Ve just got free delivery at LA with code N501

Arithmeticulous Thu 08-Nov-12 21:44:50

beingginger Only the nano sad The battery on my firstgen ipod is buggered but not dangerous unfortunately. Good tip though.

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 21:46:58

My confirmation on LA says £4.50 postage but there is also 4.50 included in the deductions above so essentially it is taken off then added back on so it's worked. Hope that makes sense. I spent £6.50 on tube of biscuits, jar of sweets and some cream fudge. Planning to put in a gift bag for preschool... Hoping slightly different to the huge tins of biscuits they get.

HarderToKidnap Thu 08-Nov-12 21:52:46

kiwidreamer Thu 08-Nov-12 21:55:45

izzywizzyisbizzy Thu 08-Nov-12 21:56:59

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 21:58:00

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 21:59:33

Kiwi, it says on the confirmation you can contact them...

www.lauraashley.com/contact-us/page/contact/

kiwidreamer Thu 08-Nov-12 22:12:03

I've used their online form, the items show in my account as Released for Dispatch so I guess that's why I can't cancel.

Maybe my maths is wrong, I am very very humiliatingly bad at maths....

BeaWheesht Thu 08-Nov-12 22:12:27

Thanks for the Argos heads up - just got last web shooting spiderman reserved Which is £19 down from £35 so I'm hoping that doesn't go back up tomorrow but think it will? I've reserved 9 toys but 6 are in the 2 for 15 and 3 are between 20-25 quid - can I ask them to put it through in 3 transactions so I get most vale free iykwim?

Also used the book people's codes thanks for those. grin got the top gear Xmas book for dad, Justin's annual for dd and Justin's jokes for ds grin

kiwidreamer Thu 08-Nov-12 22:14:09

On the upside the fudge and shortbread will make great TA gifts and little presents for friends blush

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 22:15:22

Kiwi... Can I ask what you bought? If you just add up the two more expensive items that should be roughly what you paid (depending whether you got the 10% off as well). Sorry... I'm a sad accountant trying to help with the numbers smile

BobblyGussets Thu 08-Nov-12 22:20:50

Well I am recommending Lidl of all places: They have very nicely made micro fleeces for children for £3.99. They are slim fitting, warm and thin, so I have done three christmas presents courtesy of this today. I bought two each for my two nieces and nephew who live in a very cold part of the world and do a bit of skiing. I also included an attractive tube of retro sweets (refreshers/drumsticks/lovehearts). This will make a decent gift, I hope: two nicely made fleeces and a nice tube of sweets. Would anyone turn their nose up at this?

WannaSplitAPineapple Thu 08-Nov-12 22:25:33

LA seem to apply their discount in a weird way. For example if you are buying 3 items for £7 they should be £21. The 3 for 2 takes them to £14. Delivery at £4.50 takes your order upto £18.50. If you use the promo code for free delivery it still looks like you are paying the £4.50 delivery but the items that were £14 before the discount was applied have now dropped to £9.50 as the delivery charge has beed taken from that part of your basket. They then add the £4.50 delivery taking you back up to £14.
In other words you are still only paying the total price for 2 items. Does that make any sense? I think I've confused myself!

BeaWheesht Thu 08-Nov-12 22:27:58

Bobblygussets - of course no-one would turn their nose up at that! though I'd only have bought one each and been tight

twirlyagogo Thu 08-Nov-12 22:29:14

ANGEL15 for 15% off and free P&P at Joules.

Spongebob playset thingies (sort of like Littlest Pet Shop style) in Home Bargains today for £2.99. These were about £15 last year in Toys 'r' Us when I was looking for them. They also had good stocking filler toiletries such as Moshi Monsters shower gel and shampoo, great big things to bulk up for £1 each (had Hannah Montana as well). Character toothbrushes and faceclothes for 39p, including Winnie the Pooh for little ones.

All these biscuits and candles for teachers and nursery staff - aren't you reading the threads that say how much they hate these things? grin You could be spending that money on bargains for yourselves! wink

kiwidreamer Thu 08-Nov-12 22:30:57

I can't get the maths to work at all, maybe the code did include 10% that might account for some confusion

6 x 3.50 = 21
6 x 2.80 = 16.80
Total - 37.80

342 = 7 + 5.60 = 12.60

So total should be £25.20

From my account...
Subtotal:
£37.80
Discount:
-£15.70
Postage & Packaging:
£4.50
ORDER TOTAL:
£26.60

I dunno, my checkout total said £22.10 which is the £26.60 minus PP

twirlyagogo Thu 08-Nov-12 22:34:23

GLTC 15% off over £50 until 17 December.

Code is PRANCER

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 22:36:07

I reckon if you've done it all as one order you would have got the 4 cheapest things free so essentially 4 x 2.80. Therefore you would have paid...

6 x 3.50 = 21 +
2 x 2.80 = 5.60

Total being 26.60

Make sense?

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 22:37:28

Your discount of 15.70 would be 4 x 2.80 + 4.50 delivery.

BobblyGussets Thu 08-Nov-12 22:38:03

So for Argos: can I get it in the bag/reserved, now online and then pay tomorrow before everyone bags everything?

This 3 for 2 will be good if I get an Innotab 2, Furby and lego city Goldmine, they are all around the £55-£65 mark so to have £55 wiped off the total is not bad, and Nectar points too now, I believe?

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 22:38:13

I think if you'd done 2 separate orders of cheaper stuff then more expensive stuff you would have saved more.

kiwidreamer Thu 08-Nov-12 22:47:32

Aha!!!!!!

You clever bunch, of course they did the 342 across the cheaper items DOH blush I only decided to add the fudge at the last minute, didnt even crossmy mind!!

izzywizzyisbizzy Thu 08-Nov-12 22:48:39

tbf, I am happy enough with the price I paid even with the postage added, but it would be good if they refund it.

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 22:53:02

You would have saved 1.40 if you'd done them separately so although very annoying hopefully it won't break the bank!! smile

I bought similar stuff so hoping it'll be nice for the preschool assistants if I get a nice cheap gift bag to put them in!!!

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 22:56:51

Izzy... If you've paid 14.00 for 3 £7 items surely that is correct? I.e 2 x £7 rather than 3 x £7?

izzywizzyisbizzy Thu 08-Nov-12 23:02:12

but the basket also showed the 30% discount, so basket total was £9.50, then it added the postage on top

kiwidreamer Thu 08-Nov-12 23:03:06

I think I got extra specially confused cos the the checkout said £22.10... I knowit did!!! Then I tried to apply my non mathsy brain to the sums and got pissed off with myself that I coudnt work it out.

£1.40 is not a bother.

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 23:07:08

My basket just showed the 3 for 2 discount, delivery discount and 10% discount.

The 30% was already off the listed price, but then those lily items had more than 30% off so not sure.

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 23:09:43

I bet it did show 22.10 but I think that was a random number essentially it had already deducted the delivery charge even though it hadn't been added that that point... If that makes sense. LA obviously don't like to show things simply!!

iloveholidays Thu 08-Nov-12 23:11:09

My email confirmation splits down the total discount that has been applied actually... No mention of 30%.

izzywizzyisbizzy Thu 08-Nov-12 23:18:45

Subtotal:£21.00
Discount:-£11.50
Postage & Packaging:£4.50
ORDER TOTAL:£14.00

Yes - I thought it was £7 3 for 3 and then £4.50 30%, but its not, it has taken postage off then added it back on. Wierd

BuffyFairy Thu 08-Nov-12 23:23:46

It looks like the 30% was already applied on the prices on site. The biscuits I bought were £4 a tin, now showing as £2.80. Some things had a higher discount.

It was a bit weird the way the site applied the discounts.

I bought 3 tins @ £2.80.
3 for 2 discount -£2.80
Postage discount -£4.50
Sub total £1.10
Then it took 10% discount of £0.11
Then it added postage.

So a bit cheeky!

insanityscratching Fri 09-Nov-12 05:45:43

The White Company has 20% discount plus free delivery with the code AB426. I think the code only runs to 11th November though.

reastie Fri 09-Nov-12 06:34:51

Just checked zulily for the morning and they have some nice wooden toys under the brand 'voila' including a half price play tool work bench half price for £50 and a half price standing theatre for £47. Don't forget code 20MUMSNE15 for 20% off. Oh, and there's also a really nice chocolate brownie cake tin under the 'baking days' brand that I nearly bought for myself blush - it has slicers in it so when they come out of the oven they are all already cut into their shapes (I'm probably not explaining that well, but it looks fab) for £10.50 - would be good for an adult if they like baking.

Getting impatient to find out who my secret santa is at work now so I can hurry up and order their gift! Could have got something nice in the LA glitch yesterday <sigh>

MooseyMoo Fri 09-Nov-12 07:03:21

I managed to get x3 LA biscuit tins for £5.40. I only used the free delivery code though.

beingginger oh, oh, oh I have a first gen nano and its knackered! thanks for the tip

reastie Fri 09-Nov-12 07:24:57

Dosh I'm thinking my buggy for DD is alot wider than a broom! wink

iloveholidays Fri 09-Nov-12 07:30:25

3 days only 20% off toys at toys r us with code: TOYS20E

rhondajean Fri 09-Nov-12 07:37:30

Beat me to Ilove! Was just on my way to share.

Debating now whether to get dd2 the monster high school after all - It would be £67.99 plus a free makeup kit if I order today...

<sits firmly on hands!>

LaTrucha Fri 09-Nov-12 07:39:25

I can second Lidl - I was tempted to buy a lot of stuff I didn't need! They have great salopettes and ski jackets, polo necks, fluffy fleeces, long socks, ski gloves, fluffy fleeces.

I managed to get out of there with just some long socks and a fluffy fleece for £3.99. It was just so cuddly! The also have some nice building block kits.

If you are on quidco you can use that Hotel Chocolat deal posted upthread and get £7.50 cashback!

jumblequeen Fri 09-Nov-12 07:39:26

Re: Laura Ashley - can someone bring me up to date? I haven't had nearly enough caffeine yet confused

oreocrumbs Fri 09-Nov-12 07:43:34

WH smith Kobe mini ereader £49.99 rather than £59.99.

pigleychez Fri 09-Nov-12 08:02:13

I was coming on to share the Toys R Us code too smile

Glad someone else has already as I cant find the email at all! I def saw it this morning on my phone but its not there now! confused

LaTrucha Fri 09-Nov-12 08:43:48

The quidco / Hotel Chocolat thing means you get a £19.95 box of chocolates, in the end for £2.80.

mummy1986 Fri 09-Nov-12 09:06:58

The free delivery code wont work on laura ashley!
Am i doing something wrong?

LaTrucha Fri 09-Nov-12 09:35:38

I am having difficulty knowing if all the codes on that Hotel chocolat thing have worked.

mummy1986 Fri 09-Nov-12 09:47:38

LaTrucha
What codes did you use to get the chocs to 2.80?!
please thanks

butterfingerz Fri 09-Nov-12 09:50:06

WHSmith has up to 50% off toys, much of it Lego, which makes many of the prices better than amazon. Free delivery over £15 of course. 50% off 2013 annuals too.

OhTheConfusion Fri 09-Nov-12 10:19:27

I have been away this week and just spen over an hour (and over £100 blush) catching up on this thread!!!

Dosh, my Quinny must be wider than a broom too!

Just collected all my FREE clothes for DD I bought using all the advantage card points from last weeks event... I am feeling rather pleased with myself grin

jumpinghoops Fri 09-Nov-12 10:24:06

LaTrucha, I ended up calling Hotel Chocolat as in the T&C it seemed that it was going to charge me £19.95. The guy on the phone said they'd had some problems with some going through accidentally as £19.95 rather than £9.95. The only way to prevent it happening was to do it over the phone. However, they don't ask for payment there and then but invoice you with the chocs, so if they get it wrong you could call them and ask to have your invoice adjusted before they're sent out. They were very helpful and apologetic about it on phone.

OhTheConfusion Fri 09-Nov-12 10:28:18

Also can't believe this thread is half full already!

ShoopShoop Fri 09-Nov-12 10:33:57

Thanks for the LA heads up - I've finally had a chance to place an order this morning and the 30% off and 3 for 2 is still working. I got DD's nursery staff some biscuits, fudge, jelly sweets and tea cannisters. Hopefully they'll like them confused. They're a wide range of ages - one still lives at home - but fingers crossed they go down well. There's 4 of them so I'm sure I didn't place the "optimal" order to maximise my discount, but at least it's one lot of people crossed off my list!

BTW - 5 Minutes Peace (a lovely book) is back in stock at ELC. £3.49 down from £6.99 smile

Mrssummers Fri 09-Nov-12 10:54:22

Toys r us voucher states it is only toys that you can use the code for and not tablets however I have just use it for the innotab 2 so got it for £49.60 and they are giving out a free kidiminiz kitten with it worth £15

Many thanks to the poster who did all the research on kids watches on Amazon, I got dd a lovely bargaineous watch following one of your links! thanks

twirlyagogo Fri 09-Nov-12 11:08:39

Lots of the Laura Ashley stuff that was out of stock yesterday is back in stock now - got the Waterlily handwash and lotion gift set (£16 reduced to £7), matching drawer liners reduced to £3.50 from £8 and drawer sachets (£3.50 instead of £7), all on 3 for 2 and free delivery. So, am telling myself that is really £31 of stuff for £10.50, and great for granny!

mummy1986 Fri 09-Nov-12 11:14:04

How do you get free delivery?!!!!
No one is answering me!

twirlyagogo Fri 09-Nov-12 11:18:58

mummy1986 - there's no secret, just put in N549!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Fri 09-Nov-12 11:21:41

I can't get the free delivery to work on the 3 for 2's

It says conditions for promotional code usage not met angry

mummy1986 Fri 09-Nov-12 11:22:10

Thats what it says for me too!

twirlyagogo Fri 09-Nov-12 11:22:28

What are you trying to buy?

twirlyagogo Fri 09-Nov-12 11:23:45

It should work for everything really - haven't had any problems with it, and have ordered four lots now, because they take the price of the cheapest off the 3 for 2, so better to do separate orders sometimes if the delivery is free anyway.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Fri 09-Nov-12 11:26:22

6 tubes of the 3 for 2 biscuits for dd's teachers.

mummy1986 Fri 09-Nov-12 11:28:40

biscuits!

twirlyagogo Fri 09-Nov-12 11:29:31

I bought those and it was fine confused.

twirlyagogo Fri 09-Nov-12 11:30:04

I'll do a fake order and see if it still works . . .

mummy1986 Fri 09-Nov-12 11:30:16

It just took the delivery off but not the 3 for 2!
WTF?!!!

twirlyagogo Fri 09-Nov-12 11:31:26

Working for me . . . .

MooseyMoo Fri 09-Nov-12 11:33:29

If you have a quidco account, White company have 10% cash back, monsoon have 8%

twirlyagogo Fri 09-Nov-12 11:33:58

Book People has 30 Horrid Henry books for £20 today, think there's free postage somewhere upthread.

mummy1986 Fri 09-Nov-12 11:34:32

I put 3 tubes of biscuits in my basket 2.80 each = 8.40 + delivery = 12.90
- 2.80 for 3 for 2 amd 4.50 for del = 5.60.
My basket at the top corner says items toal 3.90
and on order conf page it says 8.40!

ShoopShoop Fri 09-Nov-12 11:34:41

Hmm - I just did a fake order too and the 3 for 2 is no longer working for me, but the free delivery is hmm

mummy1986 Fri 09-Nov-12 11:36:33

Hmmm...yet earlier the free delivery wasnt working, but 3 for 2 was hmm

Piemistress Fri 09-Nov-12 11:44:27
DorisIsWaiting Fri 09-Nov-12 11:50:12

Thanks you for the Laura Ashley tip that's the teachers and ballet teacher done. 3 for 2 and free delivery. And I paid by paypal (beacuse I've ebayed shed loads of stuff recently so it's not real money coming out of my bank account!) thanks

I can't get the LA 3 for 2 to work either!

LinzerTorte Fri 09-Nov-12 12:33:24

3 for 2 didn't work for me either. I used the 10% off code for new customers, but it put the 10% back on when I entered the free delivery code. And I forgot to use Quidco.

janx Fri 09-Nov-12 12:57:07

Can anyone remember the popcorn holders offer ... Was way back blush

Can someone remind me of the toys r us code - please?

I think the popcorn holder was on not on the hight street janx.

Loulousmummy Fri 09-Nov-12 13:26:00

Body Shop order just arrived. Baths for dd and I this afternoon.

schilke Fri 09-Nov-12 13:29:34

TOYS20E gives you 20% off at toys r us

schilke Fri 09-Nov-12 13:31:27

I'm still sulking about toys r us. Got 2 Furbys in my basket (pink/purple & yellow) got to checkout, entered code and about to pay....then thought ooh Quidco so went through them to get my extra 6%. Basket then said pink/purple furby removed as out of stock. Why did I push it for the extra 6%!!

LaTrucha Fri 09-Nov-12 13:34:17

popcorn holder dotcomgiftshop

mummy1986 - go through quidco - the referral gives you 7.05 cashback (although you don't get that straight away). The offer should then go through as £9.95 though it's a bit difficult to see as I said upthread. They are very helpful though I haven't quite sorted mine but I know they will. Quidco has now confirmed the cashback.

Wolfcub Fri 09-Nov-12 13:34:21

Moleskine Star Wars Diaries are reduced on Amazon - Yoda large weekly notebook diary is less than £14 with postage, Darth Vada large daily, Han Solo Daily and Luke pocket weekly also on offer. Not seen them cheaper than 19 plus postage anywhere else

AudrinaAdare Fri 09-Nov-12 13:37:43

I got my popcorn holders from dot com gifts

LaTrucha Fri 09-Nov-12 13:42:29

That Toys r us code means you get the new leap pad for £54.40.

Sorely tempted, although DD all done really.

Anyone got codes for M&S wine at all?

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Fri 09-Nov-12 13:43:09

I give up on LA, now the 3 for 2 is not working either.

I think it may be divine intervention on behalf of my credit card!

DangerousMouse Fri 09-Nov-12 13:49:05

They may have ended the LA discount now, as it was only there because of a glitch.

schilke Fri 09-Nov-12 14:02:46

I love those popcorn holders. Going to buy 4 for my dc.

armani Fri 09-Nov-12 14:15:27

iloveholidays Fri 09-Nov-12 14:20:20

Armani... Are there any decent DVDs?

reastie Fri 09-Nov-12 14:26:29

Thanks for choc tasting club quidco tip - have just ordered a box for me DH.

My thorntons parcel according to the hermes tracking site was delivered to my (open) porch today but it wasn't there when I got home from work <sobs> - do you think someone stole my 5 boxes of chocs? sad

wfrances Fri 09-Nov-12 14:27:35

anyone know where i can get a purple furby?(normal price)

LaTrucha Fri 09-Nov-12 14:29:55

Ioveholidays - the leap pad was already discounted and it took an extra 20% off.

LaTrucha Fri 09-Nov-12 14:30:38

reastie - might a neighbour have seen it and taken it in for you?

reastie Fri 09-Nov-12 14:35:07

latrucha my parents live down the road but I've seen them and they haven't taken it for me. I get parcels left out often I buy too much online and nothing's ever been taken by my neighbours (or anyone else) before unless the driver goes to them to drop it (and even then sometimes they moan and ask them to try another door) but I suppose there's always a first hmm [hopeful]

chatee Fri 09-Nov-12 14:39:04

Thanks to all for sharing info

Iloveholidays -have placed an order with sale items included on toys r us and yes the 20% does come off sale items too...

DangerousMouse Fri 09-Nov-12 14:40:21

This happened to me once with hermes, it turned out they had delivered to wrong road! I called the company I ordered from and they sent me out another.

reastie Fri 09-Nov-12 14:43:51

How annoying dangerous - how did you know they went to the wrong road? I think I typed 'if out leave in porch' on the delivery info so if it has been stolen (as my porch is open with no door IYKWIM) it's my fault I guess for writing to leave it in an unsecured area hmm

pigleychez Fri 09-Nov-12 14:44:45

Reastie- I had a Boden order that said it had been delivered days ago when I checked online! It hadnt as I was in at that time.

It turned out the driver was finishing his shift but hadnt finished his jobs but signed them off anyway. I complained and it was redelivered a few day later!
angry

iloveholidays Fri 09-Nov-12 14:45:19

Thanks everyone... Didn't realise there was sale as well.

Really don't need anything else, but might have to have a look tonight!! smile

reastie Fri 09-Nov-12 14:49:10

I've emailed thorntons to say hermes say it's been delivered but it hasn't arrived. Hopefully they'll get it sorted quickly as the delivery people have taken a few days to get this far <rolls eyes>

jen127 Fri 09-Nov-12 15:03:09

Any codes for wine or champagne other than the naked one?

ShoopShoop Fri 09-Nov-12 16:47:03

Just to let you know there are a couple of new offer codes for L'Occitane. If you spend over £35, you can choose between AMV28 (Regenerating skincare collection worth £19.50) or AVC30 (Head to Toe collection worth £20). There's also a free tote bag to be had for spending over £40 (code XBAG) - the codes do not stack though, and personally I'd rather have one of the free smelly sets rather than a bag! grin

ShoopShoop Fri 09-Nov-12 16:48:43

PS You can get the Enchanting Winter Collection for half price (£14.50) using code XPWP to stack with the above codes too, if you need an extra present for you smile

cece Fri 09-Nov-12 17:12:50

Also various freebies using yellow, blue, green or pink and these stack with some of the other codes mentioned.

izzywizzyisbizzy Fri 09-Nov-12 22:40:05

Ive used my gap discount code, thanks, it was great, some of the items I bought were on buy more than one and they dropped from £8 to £6, then it took the 30% off again, I had 8 long sleeved tops for £54 delivered, and then on top of that I have 10% cashback from quidco. I love the gap t shirts because they wash and wash and wash.

My body shop shower gels have arrived, I ordered 2 lots of 3, they appear to have only charged for 1 lot, the 2nd lot 1 was out of stock and I just checked card and only one payment has gone through.

I have my calendar, and by Book Shop animals book, it is truly beautiful smile.

DH is off to Smyths to get me the calendar as its not online, but they have them in store, I have been waiting for a boy one to come up cheap for ages!

I have my toot toot cars, my 3 for 2s from tescos (took loads back they refunded the full price!! so that was a real bargain for the things I kept).

Have my bench boxers, and also some Calvin Klein ones from Hong Kong which look the real deal.

Loads of charity shop bargains as well and also loads of second hand stuff from netmums.

The DCs have a huge pile and I have spent pennies (except on books, they are cheap from book people but when you buy 50 ......................)

cece Fri 09-Nov-12 22:49:03

Tesco have a bargain balance bike. Just ordered one for DS2

AudrinaAdare Fri 09-Nov-12 22:53:19

Reastie - Hermes are rubbish. My Thorntons order arrived the other day open on one side with some of my order missing. Reported it to Thorntons who very kindly sent out the missing item and have filed a complaint with Hermes.

BeaWheesht Fri 09-Nov-12 23:07:24

Oh lordy, haven't even begun....where to start???

Back to the top of the thread methinks.

jumblequeen Sat 10-Nov-12 07:23:18

I've PM'd a couple of you re: the ELC code... fingers crossed!

I have to say we have a fab Hermes driver. He knows where I live and work and will drop depending on where I am to get a signature. He has a good reputation where we live for doing this. He does go above and beyond.

reastie Sat 10-Nov-12 07:31:16

Re: balance bikes mentioned upthread - are they good/worth it? I'd never heard of them before, looking at them I'm a bit hmm about how useful/well liked by DC they are- surely you could have a trike of bike with stabilisers <clueless>

Seems a bit hit and miss with hermes then, I'm sure I've had things from them before no problems though.

DorisIsWaiting Sat 10-Nov-12 07:54:31

Reastie it depends on the age of your dc. DD1 and 2 didn't have one just had trike then bike with stabilisers. DD3 had one for her 2nd birthday both other dd's have played (lots) on it. and when we go on bioke rides dd3 is faster than dd2 on her bike with stablisers. For christmas dd3 is getting a bike without stablisers (she's 3). IMHO they are much less cumbersome than trikes and so more maoeverable (sp!) dd3 has a PUKY and it's been FAB!

<doris steps off soapbox> <please resume your fabulous bargin hunting>

RollingThunder Sat 10-Nov-12 07:57:30

has anyone else heard of http://www.toyshopuk.co.uk

They promote independant retailers - (and Amazon) but have some exclusive discount codes floating around - I saw this one: toyshopuk - for www.tinytotshop.co.uk - which is baby gifts 5% discount

www.crafts4kids.co.uk - has an exclusive 10% discount through them, though wasn't clear how you claimed it: http://www.toyshopuk.co.uk/shops/nottinghamshire/nottingham/crafts4kids.php

RollingThunder Sat 10-Nov-12 07:58:04

(also i have an extra 25% ELC code as well, if anyone wants it?) - just pm me.

PoppyWearer Sat 10-Nov-12 08:24:01

I daren't read the rest of the thread to see if someone has already mentioned this. Theoretically my shopping for the DCs is all done, and if I read this thread I'll only go and buy more! grin

Anyway, I popped on here to say that Amazon have the Toot Toot Drivers Garage (V-Tech) down to £24 at the moment, with free 3-5 day delivery. It's well north of £30 everywhere else, and they're going for high prices on eBay too.

I had bought DS a lovely but uber cheap wooden one in the sales earlier in the year, to give him this year as main pressie, but someone gave him a load of Toot Toot cars for his first birthday and he plays with them non-stop....so getting the matching garage makes sense.

<hides thread before I see anything else>
<sniggers at Toot Toot>

Wiggy29 Sat 10-Nov-12 08:44:12

I can't work out how to private message people but would love an ELC code if anybody has one as getting ds the tumble down castle (£80) so would make a considerable difference.

Balance bike looks fab but sadly don't have anybody the right age for it.

izzywizzyisbizzy Sat 10-Nov-12 08:52:38

with the balance bikes we have had Wee Rides, we bought a cheaper one from tescos for DD, but ended up replacing that with a weeride as well, as i just wasnnt the same quality.

they are fantastic though and DS did go straight from a weeride to a bike without stabilisers, he loved it and could go miles on it, DD is more timid

MooseyMoo Sat 10-Nov-12 08:53:19

poppy I was just coming o to say the same thing re Toot Toot Garage. Have been waiting bloody ages patiently for it to be reduced. Woo.

Toot Toot Garage Amazon 24 with free delivery

pinknanny Sat 10-Nov-12 08:53:20

Reastie re balance bikes. I would recommend 100%.
I was sceptical over them until I seen how quickly little boy I nanny for could use his.
He got for 2nd birthday and managed it quickly., could go fast, have his feet up for long periods, generally had good control over it etc within a few months.
He then got proper bike 6 months later and could go it straight away, no hassle with balance, steering control etc. only thing he found a little tricky was doing proper peddling.
He could fully ride bike before he was 3!

hope that helps!

jumblequeen Sat 10-Nov-12 09:01:35

RollingThunder - PM'd you, yes please!

WineGless Sat 10-Nov-12 09:04:27

Morning all,
Can highly recommend the spicery box linked in the OP - will be nice extra for Fil and BIL
My body shop code hasn't gone through so have emailed them but apart from that am doing quite well.
Am holding off DC main presents until they do their letter for father Xmas as it keeps changing depending on the tv advert that's on.

Can also commend balance bike- transition to riding bike without stabilizers was much easier

reastie Sat 10-Nov-12 09:17:18

So with balance bikes, do they work well on grass terrain? We have easy access to fairly flat large expanse of grass but if it wouldn't work that well I wouldn't bother with it I think.

WineGless Sat 10-Nov-12 09:32:43

Yes DC have used them when camping and fly around n them! Once child gets used to having to push harder on grass they are fine

Prizepudding Sat 10-Nov-12 09:32:45

WIGGY have sent you my elc code, should be in your inbox, I hope it works.

oreocrumbs Sat 10-Nov-12 10:08:10

Elc kitchen £22.50.

Is reduced to £30 and then you can use the 25% off voucher for this.

For those who want an/other elc code did you see my link yesterday morning about an automatic generator of the codes. Apparently it works - so you can generate your own code as many times as you like. They have a time limit so you need to do it when you are about to shop and no good for passing on, but everyone can do it!

oreocrumbs Sat 10-Nov-12 10:10:52

Apparently (she says tentatively) the vetch25 is working on ASDA now.

Just wanted to say massive thanks for starting this thread. I have been waiting to buy some le creuset from John Lewis but managed to get 20% off at Amazon thanks to someone on first page. Thank you!

Bargains from me: I have a GAP VIP voucher if you want to PM me. 30% off until tomorrow.

I also saw the game Shopping List on Amazon for less than £5. It's a great game for 3-5 year olds.

twirlyagogo Sat 10-Nov-12 14:30:42

Just got my l'occitane order - really disappointing. The enchanted winter set looks like something from Poundland. Awful - no way I can give that to someone, just looks like a randon collection of free samples in a cheap, nasty tiny little make up bag.

The'free samples' themselves are so tiny, they're a waste of time, and the perfume I ordered has leaked. The 'wrapping service' is two bags, nothing like what is shown on the website.

Will never order from them again - none o fit can be used as gifts so wasted my money!

MooseyMoo Sat 10-Nov-12 14:40:58

twirly I would complain about the perfume leaking and see if you can return all of the products for full refund.

MistressIggi Sat 10-Nov-12 14:43:14

Twirly hope you can just send the lot back for a refund. How disappointing.
All my bodyshop stuff has come - do love the reindeer wash balls, have bought 4!
M&S have some kind of food order/wine reduction until the end of tomorrow.
And I can actegorically state the Primark near me does not have Xmas duvets! Said they might be getting them in - no chance I'll be back unfortunately.

twirlyagogo Sat 10-Nov-12 14:44:07

Have emailed a complaint, so will see what they say - wish I'd stuck to Body Shop!

reastie Sat 10-Nov-12 14:51:23

twirly FWIW I had packaging bashed on a l'occitaine order once for a gift. I rung them up and they sent me another one and said I could keep the bashed one myself grin (it was a handcream worth about £18!). I've also found their gift wrap sporadic - sometimes I've had lovely boxes and other times just some flat packed bags which were really disappointing. I'd mention it if you ring them and they'd probably send you one with the replacement stuff.

izzywizzyisbizzy Sat 10-Nov-12 15:15:32

There are loads of boots codes on quidco, plus 3 for 2 and advantage points and also I imagine when the £12 in advantage points comes about again that is online too?

twirlyagogo Sat 10-Nov-12 15:19:13

Thanks reastie - have complained, so will report back. TBH, the winter enchantment thing is so duff that I don't want another, it'll go straight to the charity shop anyway sad.

MooseyMoo Sat 10-Nov-12 15:23:54

Just got Supernatural Season 7 boxset at Sainsburys Entertainment for £25.99 with free delivery. Amazon is £30 at moment.

Am putting this with popcorn holder from dotcomgiftshop and box of salted popcorn smile

Tuftysquirrel Sat 10-Nov-12 15:24:26

Thanks for all the codes on these threads, very useful! Have just received a very swift order from Body Shop (five minis and lovely cherry scrub) delivered for £7. Have now come across a Body Shop code SHOPNOW for £20 off £40 shop finishing noon 12th Nov. Might stack with free delivery code upthread? If someone is about to order, maybe you could try it?

Tuftysquirrel Sat 10-Nov-12 15:29:06

Also was there a discount code for The Spicery? thought there may have been but can't seem to see it.

pigleychez Sat 10-Nov-12 15:40:05

Tufty- I have a spicery voucher.

20% discount on the spicebox voucher ( either 3,6 or 9mths).
CHRISTMAS20

It does say order by the 10th November so not sure if it will still work today but worth a try.

Ive ordered for my dad and the customer services were fantastic.

Runoutofideas Sat 10-Nov-12 15:43:06

Not sure if this is already on here but if it is i thought it was worth a repeat - 3 for 2 on all toys from Argos. I just got 3 lego sets for £79 in total rather than £120... The website kept crashing so I just went to the shop which was busy but efficient.

Tuftysquirrel Sat 10-Nov-12 16:04:54

Thanks for the speedy Spicery code, Pigley. Sadly, I think I may have just missed it as it wouldn't go through but have ordered anyway as still seems really good - a subscription, lucky dip box and a couple of other small things for DH. Glad you are pleased with what you have received from them so far, really looking forward to seeing what turns up!

Halfling Sat 10-Nov-12 16:11:31

How do you enter multiple codes in Bodyshop? I am only ever able to use one code for one purchase.

twirlyagogo Sat 10-Nov-12 16:12:29

Is there a free delivery code for those popcorn holders on dotcomgiftshop?

If you look at Body Shop T&Cs most/all of the offers say you can't use them in conjunction with any other, that's why they don't stack.

snowballinashoebox Sat 10-Nov-12 16:23:27

Tufty the discount is on the voucher that they send you not the fully set up subscription where you fill in the recipients address. Took me days for the penny to drop!

MooseyMoo Sat 10-Nov-12 16:27:17

Sorry Twirly no free delivery. I bought lots of other stocking fillers from the sale so postage didn't seem so bad.

Tuftysquirrel Sat 10-Nov-12 17:04:00

Thanks, Snowball, that explains it as I was ordering the subscription, not the voucher!

snowballinashoebox Sat 10-Nov-12 17:13:05

Try ringing them on monday they are lovely and it's not really that clear to be honest.

I am deliberating weither to splurge on the celtic sheepskin site with ABS2 20% off until 17th Nov. My mm would love some cashmere socks... trying to sit on c/c.

confuugled Sat 10-Nov-12 18:16:23

Slight side step but if anyone is planning on buying a turkey from M&S, if they order it by the 11th Nov (ie tomorrow) then you get a free bottle of wine if you spend more than £60 and a free bottle of cava if it's more than £100.

Also the 25% off the two cases of festive wine ends tomorrow as well.

reastie Sat 10-Nov-12 18:25:08

snow I'm tempted to use the celtic code to get Dh some slippers, but postage is £4.95 so not much overall discount for me and they aren't the sort DH especially likes...debating whether to get them anyway or go elsewhere

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Sat 10-Nov-12 18:51:20

There's some good bits for gifts on the M&S outlet site

Tatty teddy shimmer powder and brush, wasn't someone looking for TT stuff up thread?!

Was very lucky to get 25% off code for ELC from lovely mumsnetter on here, it seems castle was already reduced so a real bargain, from £80 to only £45 for castle and catapult, plus free delivery! Very very pleased. grin

Worth saying that they seemed to have a lot of toys (including playmobile) reduced so worth a look, unfortunately I couldn't seem to find a link on their site for 'all offers'/ 'reductions' or similar so you just have to do a trawl.

joymaker Sat 10-Nov-12 21:05:57

Persuedbypenguins......I've just used a 'very' code for new customers. They sent it in the post. £30 off a £60 spend. I ordered my things, then it said I can either have the £30 added to my account, or put back on my card when the order has been processed.

I just checked, and they have the game you are looking for priced at £55, so I guess you'd only have to spend another £5 to get it for £30 (I think delivery is £3.95?) Anyway, see if the code works for you......2BLZX

You add the code after you've registered, before payment (a box on right hand side of screen).

BeaWheesht Sun 11-Nov-12 07:17:51

Fluffy pillow- that's a great idea re skylanders if it works - I've never had an account with very or similar before - are there any catches? Can you pay all at once ? Can you just close your account afterwards?

I would check on their website but it's currently crashed hmm

confuugled Sun 11-Nov-12 07:49:32

Play.com are currently holding a series of one day sales until Christmas, called something like their Monday mega sale or similar

They've had the first two - first one Had some skylander figures for half price (£3.50? £3.99?) so might be worth looking on their site tomorrow to see if any turn up - in previous years the same things often turned up 2 or 3 times in the 6-8 weeks they were doing it.

They also do a deal of the day sometimes they are repeated, sometimes not -- kicks self at missing a couple of nice thick hoodies for dh at £20 instead of £70--. Today for example they have some scarves at £5 instead of £15 - £13. And ofcourse everything is free delivery. Last year I got some trespass fleece halfzip jumpers for £5 instead of £25 as another eg.

It's worth signing up for the daily reminder email as they do have some good bargains and the Monday deals often includes computer/wii/xbox/etc games, music, DVDs, clothing and stuff that is useful to get for men in general when they are hard to buy for.

They also do weekly bargains but the discounts aren't quite so mega!

(waves to reastie might be worth adding to your mega list of bargains?)
