There's 10 percent off superdrug on line, Plus free delivery, you have to spend £40 and the code is 10%OFF40 .

It's quite good because they also have early bird prices with a third off a lot of the Xmas gift sets.

The code I think is until 24th October, not sure about the early bird prices.

TheAngelshavetheOod Sat 13-Oct-12 19:01:22

Whoever linked to the spice kits last time- have you received any yet?

Looked at the individual ones as stocking filler for dh & making a parcel for my mum. Just wondered how they come ?

I think it's a good idea to repost this on the new thread especially as I have just linked to the Entertainer site above.

I checked my online banking today and the Entertainer had taken payment of my order twice.

I called customer services with my order number and advisor was great and said they will refund me on Monday morning but my bank may take upto 5 working days to credit my account so I'm now £100 down.

Worth checking.

rhondajean Sat 13-Oct-12 21:13:17

Seriously debating a set of those drums for dd1.

She's just appeared with a list of about a dozen t shirts which apparently she cannot live without.

ChristmasKate Sat 13-Oct-12 21:47:11

Aspie all 3 might be a good will gesture if your lucky.

The lady I spoke to said it hasn't happened before so I explained that I only used their site via a recommendation from a well known parenting forum and that it has happened over the last few weeks.

I joked that the bad publicity even virally could be damaging as we have a habit of tweeting our displeasure and getting our own way and she asked if she could take my telephone number so a manager could speak to me on Monday grin

Iirc wasn't it John Lewis & the undelivered bed the most recent thread where we ended up with customer services on the thread and on twitter? love it

BlameItOnTheCuervForHumanBlood Sat 13-Oct-12 21:48:03

Luckily I had another form of payment but imagine if I didn't, 4 kids and a week with no money?

The stuff I bought arrived fine, really pleased with it but scared to buy from them again.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Sun 14-Oct-12 09:28:51
oreocrumbs Sun 14-Oct-12 09:29:16

Vaga, you can get converse up to size 7 for £30 on La redoute. The boys and teens converse are £45, but there is a welcome code (4707 iirc - but it is clear on the first page of the site), that gives you £15 off a £30 spend and free del.

There is also a £30 off £60 spend code 0280, if you are spending more.

They go up to bigger sizes but the adult ones are more expensive, but you could make it up to £60 and then use the £60 code.

SminkoPinko Sun 14-Oct-12 09:51:17

Thanks so much Hokey for the La Redoute code and OhTheConfusion for the converse for dh idea, which I have unashamedly stolen! Relieved to have something for his forthcoming birthday.

Agree with TheAngelshavetheOood that we need to keep the non-toddler ideas coming. My youngest is making out like a bandit at the expense of my surly teens and adult family, who will not be best pleased! Any bargainatious ideas for 13 year old boys, quirky sisters and hard to buy for pensioner dads?

reastie Sun 14-Oct-12 09:54:26

Asda half price toy cooker was out of stock last time I looked btw

OhTheConfusion Sun 14-Oct-12 10:08:44

Sminko the converse are for my DH's birthday too :-) They were £59 but added a pair of tights for DD1 (otherwise known as the tight destroyer) to let me use the offer code. Curious about the mock croc bag?!?

SminkoPinko Sun 14-Oct-12 10:20:28

Yes, I added little girl socks to make up to £60 too! We do ok with tights but never ever have 2 matching socks apart from the few wonderful days following new sock buying... I wonder what the mock croc bag will be like too. Apparently out of stock at the moment so I may have a longish wait to find out! I'm hoping it will be the perfect present for someone though.

Vagaceratops Sun 14-Oct-12 11:54:46

The Little Mermaid is due to be re-released early next year, s copies are few and far between.

SeveredEdMcDunnough Sun 14-Oct-12 12:00:45

Winegless, ds also wants this - I have pre-ordered it from Gamestation, as you get something free with that apparently - like a fiver's worth of extra character or something.

Sorry, I have no idea what the deal is but I do know it's the new version, called Giants, and it isn't out yet!

Might be better offers elsewhere.

SeveredEdMcDunnough Sun 14-Oct-12 12:01:13

oreocrumbs Sun 14-Oct-12 14:19:15

I'm in need of awkward parents/PIL and siblings presents!

The children have done very well and I worry will continue to do so since it is only october and there are bound to be loads more bargains I can't resisit!

LaTrucha Sun 14-Oct-12 15:05:52

God I want some new Converse! Can't justify it though. ....

Boonyjinkies Sun 14-Oct-12 15:07:44

Have just ordered daughter converse at Cloggs.co.uk that have a sale on. Cheapest Internet seller with free delivery (without codes) BUT just used code FYS1 and got 20% off the sale price as well. Have a good selection if a specific style/colour is required. Oh and you get 7% quidco too, so i effectively paid £26.04 instead of £45!

If any
One needs a new food processor, sainsburys has a Phillips one on offer in store for £50 instead of £150, which is a pretty good deal. On it's website, it's half price instead of two thirds off.

Dh went out to get a couple of bits I'd forgotten for Sunday lunch, came back and told me about it so after checking it online I sent him back to buy it grin Haven't had a chance to open it yet but looks pretty reasonable for the money, I haven't ever had a food processor but my sis loves hers so hoping it will be ok.

On phone so can't link but search for philips hr7774/90 food processor on the sainsburys site to see it. Also on the amazon site for more reviews (but it's £134 on there!)

I wanted the Converse for my girl, but she rather sensibly said, I've got enough mum. I thought about ordering the next size up, but she said, what if my feet don't grow? She's 11 and a size 6 so that seems really unlikely to me, but she might have a point. She's so much more sensible than I am!

SilveryMoon Sun 14-Oct-12 22:00:09

Mistress Why don't you join both? Then use whichever one offers the best deal each time you shop?
Quidco has a few stores where you can get cashback in store too. They also give you 5p/10p when you 'check-in' on a mobile app to other stores.
With this site, you pay them £5 a year for membership which they take from your cashback. Apart from the check-in money, they don't touch that.
TopCashBack is completely free, once you start earning cashback, you keep it all. There is no stopages like on Quidco (first £5)
I belong to both but never shop on-line so don't ever use them.
I prefer going in store and touching things! Even food shopping, I hate doing it on-line. I should really, would save me probably about 2 hours over the course of a week.
I also like the something in your hand instantly and hate waiting for deliveries. If I want something, I want to go and get it now, you know?

Marking my place smile

milkymocha Sun 14-Oct-12 22:24:53

Thank you Aspiemum, code sadly didnt work for me but hope it did for someone else!

Don't know if it has been mentioned up til now...I haven't read the entire thread yet I am about to!

Body shop has an offer on ATM if you enter PAYDAY into the checkout you get £5 off £15, £10 off £25 or £25 off £50 spend AND if you spend more than £35 you get a free gift! They do gift sets or pick and mix bags so great for Xmas pressies smile

Aspiemum2 Sun 14-Oct-12 22:36:51

iloveblue Sun 14-Oct-12 22:43:27

I've just seen these sweet personalised face cloths reduced to £1.99.
P+P is £3 though. Not too bad if you're buying a few things.
I've just bought one for each of my nieces and nephews - going to put together small bathtime gift baskets for each of them.

DowagersHump Sun 14-Oct-12 22:57:54

I got the Skylanders starter pack for wii for £43 from play.com which is the cheapest I've seen it anywhere. I also got the adventure case (where you can store all the little plastic figures and the platform they stand on) for £18.50. Both free delivery. All the figures from that game will work with the Giants game when it's released (expensive Xmas tie in launch!). I'm going to ask aunts/uncles to give him extra figures as they're about £6 each and it makes shopping really easy. There are lists of what characters are 'best' on the interweb.

Tesco are doing cheap kindles - the newer one for £69 iirc.

Tempted by the Spicery bits too for my Dad.

zipzap Mon 15-Oct-12 12:54:53

pigleychez glad you got a bargain too!

I figure at that price you can't go too wrong - especially if I remember to get dh to put the receipt somewhere safe in case it has a problem so it can be easily taken back! Thing is, I wouldn't have bothered buying a £50 food processor if that was its full price as would figure it would be a cheap and nasty one, but this one seems to have got a which recommendation too so for the price it should be fab grin

enjoy using it! I haven't got mine out either yet - need to do some tidying in the kitchen first to make a space for it sadshock

I have been lurking on this thread for a while (and bought 2 of the bargainous Uniqlo Orla Kiely scarves last week!) and today I've taken the plunge and done a bit of Christmas ordering!

Toys R Us currently have an offer where you get a free Playmobil advent calendar if you spend £45 on Playmobil - so I've ordered a pyramid for my DCs to share (which is reduced to £39) and a whale and boat for my DS (reduced from £19.99 to £9.99) and got an advent calendar free!

I have a few picky wine lovers to buy for - just found that going to
www.winesdirect.co.uk/#Wine%20Voucher%20Codes

and clicking through to Naked Wines meant I got £60++ worth of wine for £25.43! 6 bottles so only £4.24 per bottle for v good wine (I hope, don't know much about wine!)

It's a tiny bit fiddly - the link activates a £40 voucher when you spend £60, then delivery is £4.99. You can only order in multiples of 6 bottles, so I managed to get it near enough on the £60 nose with 4x £9.99 bottles, 1x £10.99 & 1x £9.49 bottle.

HTH for anyone smile

I need your help to choose a scooter. Was planning to get DD (2.4 at christmas) this scooter. Will be able to pick it up for £18.

But I keep hearing great things about the mini micro scooter. Best price I have seen will be £46 on JojoMB using the 15% off code.

Money isn't the issue, but is it worth spending the extra for the mini micro for a 2 yr old? At first I though not, but I haven't seen any reviews for the cheap one, and I would rather spend 45 and get a couple of years out of it, than 20 and have it sit in the garage.

Anyone have a better idea than me?

Chockywockydoodah Mon 15-Oct-12 17:58:19

Thanks for the Tickseeds link Moosey and indeed all your other contributions! Really great stuff!

Lastyearsmodel Mon 15-Oct-12 18:03:50

Anyone know if the Joules code works more than once?

NeverKnowinglyUnderstood Mon 15-Oct-12 18:05:57

totally worth the money for the micro scooters!!

louiespence Mon 15-Oct-12 18:08:35

Definitely get the mini micro scooter, they are so much better than other scooters and it will last for several years! They also have a high resale value on eBay, so a good investment.

PrettyPirate Mon 15-Oct-12 18:09:21

I'd recommend mini micro scooter, it's smooth, quiet and very light to carry if your little one have had enough scootering. We had one of those £20 plasticky ones before and to be honest it drove me mad - too noisy for my likinghmm
Mini micro also lasts few children, once DS has outgrown it, I'm planning to sell it on ebay to get some of my money backgrin

pigleychez Mon 15-Oct-12 18:17:09

On lots of recommendations Ive bought the Mini micro scooter for DD2 (2.5 at xmas) Also from JBM.

She got given an old Barbie scooter from a friend but its so heavy and shes so tiny that can barely lift it let alone ride it.
The micro does seem pretty light and more stable so she should be better on it.

You lot are amazing! Loving this thread and loving getting organised - for once- for Christmas.

I'm just about to checkout lots of kids' books from the book people, have got free delivery as over £25 by just wondering if there are any discount codes on the go at the moment?

Thanks smile

Folicacid Mon 15-Oct-12 18:46:02

And big thanks MooseyMoo, I'm getting the winter wonderland collection and the decorations book you linked to.

If anyone's looking for a cheap present - I'm going to give lots of these this year - a bag organiser.

The link is to the amazon one - they have lots around £8-15 and nice easy to see pictures. On the other hand, I am going to get them from Ebay - where they seem to cost about £3-5 and they are using identical photos to the amazon ones grin. I'm going to order one to start with (must remember to do that soon!) just to double check the quality is OK and then will order a job lot of them in assorted colours (depending on stockist there seem to be up to about 6 different colours they come in).

I've had a handbag organiser in the past and it has been really useful. These seem a bit big maybe but most of the people I know that will be getting them either have big bags or will be able to use them to keep a kit of bits and bobs they need handy in a big bag like a gym bag or overnight locker.

People that I would normally give a bigger present to will get some extras within their organiser (some little just like a pack of tissues or wipes), notepad and pen, etc. Maybe something bigger like a favourite lipstick. And for my mum, sis and aunt, they will get them as a bonus extra to their main present.

peanutMD Mon 15-Oct-12 19:15:34

OREO - I got the Ozbozz one for my DS' 3rd birthday, he's now 6 and its been passed down through 2 other friends and still going strong apart from a few scuffs.

we loved it and it was great for my son with Co, ordination issues to learn on, my only criticism was the lack of brakes but other than that it was and still is great.

Folicacid Mon 15-Oct-12 19:24:11

ZipZap I've bought two handbag organisers from eBay for much cheapness from Hong Kong. Quality is great. I got wine colour and orange. Orange is a bit lurid but I wanted it to be noticeable in my bag. Just checked and the seller was onestoreonline2009.

I'm looking for a good deal on Nintendo Dsi or Dsi xl I anyone knows one?

Pamsie Mon 15-Oct-12 19:37:49

ZipZap, I bought a couple from ebay too. They came from Hong Kong and were very cheap and great quality. However, they took about three weeks to be delivered. So, bear this in mind if you choose to order closer to christmas.

Ooh thanks for the recommendation folicacid - good to know who is good out of the hundreds on there!

Was wondering whether to go for cheapest I'd seen (think cheapest so far was £2.59 including postage) or whether to go for one that shipped from the uk. But if your organisers are still going strong after a couple of years I will try the place you got them from. Better than doing eenie meenie eBay mo to choose one!

Also think I might get them as teacher presents and stick in a small box of chocs (will save having to entrust ds2 to carrying anything glass and I usually give an umbrella and chocs but can't this year as ds2 has ds1's old teacher).

zipzap Mon 15-Oct-12 20:16:17

pamsie - they're on my list of things to do this week!

Just had a look at the shop folicacid recommended and they have two different sizes so might try one of each.

Also - do you think that the grey one would be suitable for a man? (obviously with a suitably macho monika and remembering not to call it handbag organiser!)

Oooh can i do that, never done that before feel naughty saying that they christmas one isnt part of the freebie and i wanted the christmas one haha.

Folicacid Mon 15-Oct-12 20:28:29

zipzap wee misunderstanding- I recently bought them, it's just the seller that has 2009 in name! Good tip from pamsie about ordering in plenty of time, mine took about three weeks as well.

Choccy - can you get your Mum a membership/tickets for something? I've done that for mine before and she's been pleased. A friend came up with the inspired idea last year of a "granny/granddaughter day" and paid for her mum to take her granddaughter (so my friend's daughter) to a matinee show & then for afternoon tea. Apparently her mum loved it as she wouldn't be able to afford to treat her granddaughter to that sort of thing herself and had a wonderful day. Obviously the granddaughter loved it and my friend had a Saturday to herself!

Choccy someone on these threads has been waiting for that house

Need some good ideas for sd aged 10, the boys are probably a third of the way done and she has 1 thing...

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend Tue 16-Oct-12 10:10:43

Thanks Chocky, I've been waiting for over a month to see if that house would go on sale smile However, now that it has I'm wondering whether I should get a smaller, wooden one. Why am I so indecisive, I need to make up my mind fast or else I'll miss out on the bargain!

I need ideas please!

DP - aka the man who has everything he really does and I'm stumped but I want to get him a few small bits to open otherwise he won't have anything at all on Xmas morning.

Dsis - She is a tricky one, she doesn't have a lot of hobbies but she does like to bake, every year I get her baking stuff or cookbooks but I think it would be nice to have something different for once! She doesn't like perfume or smelliest and she's not into fashion. She's got a kindle so I could buy her a voucher but everything I think of is a voucher and again I'd like her to have an actual gift to open alongside any vouchers/tokens.

Help please! smile

Alternatively keep an eye out to see if anywhere still has any of the last year's playmobil mega farm sets - 4055 - they were selling between £70-£100 last year instead of £250, they had a big barn (but no silo), farm house, tractor, fences, loads of animals and assorted little playmobil gubbins. Good bargain if you can find one at that sort of price, but lots and lots of assembly to do I'm guessing (I nearly got one last year but instead got the pyramid for my dc, which they loved and is still getting lots of play).

Where do I put mega10 when trying to pay on asos? Can't find where I put it. Probably obvious but being slow today.

HiccupHaddockHorrendous Tue 16-Oct-12 17:53:24

Oh my goodness...I briefly looked at the first thread ages ago and popped onto the Christmas topic for something else but have spend ages reading through this thread and have bought loads of things!

I am resisting the urge to ask what the joules offer is and am currently debating whether to complete checkout on 4 OK scarves.

MooseyMoo Tue 16-Oct-12 17:58:05

30% off Gap with Grazia. There are a couple of deals online as well... X3 or more socks = 25% off. And couple of tshirts on buy more save more. So I bought x3 socks and x2tshirts for £23.34. Should have been £36.75.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but BodyShop have 5 travel minis for £5. Great offer as they are usually about £3 each. Perfect as stocking fillers.
www.thebodyshop.co.uk/outlet/5-minis-for-5.aspx

Not online but Tesco Express had huge boxes of Thorntons chocolates today for £5 reduced from £13. Can't see them on the normal website so I don't know if they are in the bigger stores too.

Following on from the Calvin Klein set linked to last night, I see lots of shades of CK lipsticks on amazon for 3.99. Trying to work out - they say 3.5g, is that normal for a lipstick or is it a mini one? Link below

Vickles Tue 16-Oct-12 20:44:23

Heads up, my friend suspects the Orla Kiely scarves/stoles, are fake. She's in PR, and has reported the website to Head Office. She's 99% sure. Gutted!

MooseyMoo Tue 16-Oct-12 20:50:34

Hold on, how can they be fake? They're bought from Uniqlo who have collaborated with Orla Kiely

izzywizzyisbizzy Tue 16-Oct-12 20:51:03

toys r us website appears to be dead

PrettyPirate Tue 16-Oct-12 20:54:47

toys r us working for me but really slow....

BlameItOnTheCuervForHumanBlood Tue 16-Oct-12 20:55:00
Vickles Tue 16-Oct-12 20:55:42

She'll let me know as soon as she's heard from their Counterfeit office.

TheAngelshavetheOod Tue 16-Oct-12 21:03:09

I couldn't get toys r us going either

Vickles Tue 16-Oct-12 21:07:43

It's most apparent if you zoom on the labels on the Orla Kiely clothes that they're also selling. The label clearly says 'O.K', whereas the genuine ones don't.

RugBugs Tue 16-Oct-12 21:12:09

It's generally called a diffusion line, like DVF at gap.
I wouldn't doubt their authenticity and doing so publicly might get you in a wee bit of trouble.

annh Tue 16-Oct-12 21:12:37

Vickles, what on earth is your friend talking about? The Orla Kiely scarves come from a collaboration between Orla Kiely and Uniqlo and are plastered all over the Uniqlo website! Have you actually pointed her in the direction of the website? And here is Vogue talking about it (one of a number of news stories featuring the collection) [http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/2012/08/14/orla-kiely-launches-second-uniqlo-collection]]

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Tue 16-Oct-12 21:13:11

Vickles they are from the Uniqlo website who collaborate with Orla Kiely, how can they be fake?!

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey Tue 16-Oct-12 21:14:03

annh i was just going to copy and post an article from Elle - they are not fake.

annh Tue 16-Oct-12 21:15:11

Hokeycokey you might want to link it anyway as I made a pig's ear of my link!
