Whats top on your dcs Xmas list this year and will they be gettng it?

DS (13yo) had a Young Drivers lesson - he loved it and looked very confident behind the wheel. So I reckon that will be on his 'Wish List'

DD hasn't mentioned yet. She got a laptop for her birthday (for doing homework as well).
I think she's after a new MP3 Player.

how did I manage a double post?

MySecretSelf Mon 01-Oct-12 08:37:17

The imaginext Batcave which I've already purchased!

Shinyshoes1 Mon 01-Oct-12 08:37:59

My ds2 wants a laptop and my ds1 wants a blackberry so they will be getting those .
Dd wants every toy that on the cartoonito adverts hmm

ds1 wants a netbook, he will be getting it
ds2 also wants a netbook and will also get it
dd1 wants everything she see's on the tv except the boys stuff
dd2 has no idea what she wants, and neither do i.

DS wants the Jake and the Neverland Pirates ship (I've already got the big one), the little version for the bath (not got it yet) and a shopping trolley to put them in (my sister has got one for him)

ENormaSnob Mon 01-Oct-12 09:40:05

Ds1 wants an iPod touch

Dd wants roller boots

Ds2 wants the cast of toy story

itsstillgood Mon 01-Oct-12 12:18:53

DS1 (age 10) wants Fifa 13 - yes
DS2 (will be 7) wants lots but the one he keeps coming back to is the Super Moshi HQ - less keen as suspect it will be broken by boxing day, probably by DS1 who has a habit of 'lets see what happens if...' Have bought him a set of the Super Moshi figures. Suspect he in reality he will have more fun with those and a box for a HQ. If I see a good offer on the HQ may crack and get it and just ban DS1 from touching it!!

Mama1980 Mon 01-Oct-12 12:24:59

Ds (4) wants a Lego millennium falcon-already got.
Dd (14) wants books book sand yet more books, thinking of getting her the new kindle. If for No other reason that between us we can barely move in my house for books.

What's a young drivers lesson?

<off to google>

WipsGlitter Mon 01-Oct-12 13:02:13

A gun. Saw it in Smyths, am totally despairing. He's going to get the imaginext batcave.

Vagaceratops Mon 01-Oct-12 14:29:38

DS1 wants Converse trainers which he will be getting
DD wants the Tangled Animator Doll which I have already got
DS2 I have no idea what he wants, but as the only thing in the whole world he likes is Ninky Nonks we are getting him a musical one.

Young Drivers
driving lessons for 11-17 yo.
For someone who is 16-17 (so thinking about driving lessons on the open road) it gives them a chance to drive with an instructor in a dual-control car.
They use an empty car-park, so there's plenty of room, cones, painted 'lines' and the give way signs.
For someone like DS ,it gave him a chance to try something different. (It was his birthday present for last December but we didn't get round to booking it blush )

It's supposed to reduce the risk of accidents with new drivers and the risks of teen-drivers stealing cars for joy riding (not sure how true that would be TBH)

I didn't fancy taking my DS out to the local Learner Driver place. He's not legal for me to insure and I've heard hair raising tales shock.
Plus, I value my car ,and my relationship with my DS,

Inneedofbrandy Mon 01-Oct-12 14:46:00

Both mine want Roller boots. Am not sure to get a bigger size so by spring/summer they will still fit!

Taffeta Mon 01-Oct-12 14:46:36

A Wii U. Its for the whole family, we all want it, have nothing atm.

Other than that, it'll be small gifts only, annuals and DVDs.

Both of my DS's (aged 7 and 6) want the new Lego Batman sets.Unfortunately for them they wont be getting them.I learnt my lesson with Lego a long time ago.It takes hours to make and seconds to be in bits all around the house.

DD (3yo) asked if Santa would bring her a giant purple towel for after her bath.
I'm pretty sure he will manage that. smile

MissBetseyTrotwood Mon 01-Oct-12 20:08:07

Yy Beautician!

Mama1980 may I enquire from where did you purchase said millennium falcon? Any special offers I'm not finding at the mo? grin

Mine are having a skateboard plus pads (ds1) and a playmobil castle (ds2) off that there eBay!

headfairy Mon 01-Oct-12 20:11:19

ds hasn't said anything yet, which is odd because he'd picked out his birthday presents for months beforehand hmm

dd wants a baby that cries and closes it's eyes, and wets itself and opens it's mouth for a dummy (hmm) - I'm sure we can accommodate most of that.

MissBetseyTrotwood Mon 01-Oct-12 20:14:05

My mum never tires of telling me how I wanted ' a hairband' for Xmas every year. With the implication that she thinks my ds's are materialistic and grabby! I don't think they are any more than any others I've met!

rhondajean Mon 01-Oct-12 20:19:42

Dd1 wants a mini fridge for her bedroom and clothes.

Dd2 wants most of the Argos book but in particular the clawdeen wolf/ coffin bite monster high play set.

Santa has both in hand grin

TommeeTipsy Mon 01-Oct-12 20:28:46

My girls would both like Sylvanian Family stuff. Sigh. DD2 drew eyebrows onto the cotton tail rabbits (belonging to dd1) a few months ago and it caused a world war three for days.

eandh Mon 01-Oct-12 21:16:40

Dd1 has just turned 8, she requested science stuff so we have g&t her microscope, telescope, big book of science facts and chemistry lab set (for children!) oh and a make your own nail varnish set but that will go in Stocking (main present comes from mummy and daddy, small presents in stockings from Father Christmas and family presents are given after lunch and in laws presents on boxing day when we see them so they are spread out)

Dd2 has been asking for maxi micro scooter since March so given in and ordered it last night, her birthday is 10 days after Christmas so thought we could get her some of the accessories as birthday presents!!

Normally go mad at Christmas and get loads but this year we decided on one main quality present and then fewer stocking. Presents but better quality stuff, as we still have bits I got for stockings last year that haven't been used/played with !!

popsypie Mon 01-Oct-12 21:30:36

Dd1 (7) wants 'surprises' and a build a bear
Dd2 (6) still wants a baby sister (not happening) and in lieu of that every single baby doll and baby doll accessory in the Argos catalogue.

DD1 (5) wants Barbie everything.
DD2 (3) wants Fireman Sam everything. They both want the babydolls from Smyths that are advertised on tv.
And huggle buddies hideaways.

DS is 8mo and has not made any preferences known. I suspect he will be recieving lots of happyland/elc/ikea wooden toys.

We'll see.

WeAllHaveWings Tue 02-Oct-12 19:44:02

the top of ds(8) list is 100 booster packs of Pokemon cards

found 36 packs for £75 on ebay, so that would be more than £200 for 100

he would be over the moon if he got them

he has no chance!

WeAllHaveWings Tue 02-Oct-12 19:45:32

confused how did ebay become a link without me doing anything?

FannyBazaar Tue 02-Oct-12 23:55:47

My DS (7) wants an iPhone with every Angry Birds game there is on it.

I suggested he change his mind sharpish as I suspect Santa doesn't bother to bring a single thing to any 7 year olds who ask for iPhones!

mobileadam Thu 04-Oct-12 13:55:30

My DS has no idea. We don't watch TV with adverts so I need other ways to influence him. I've been mentioning how great it would be to have the main present that we've already purchased..

kate2boysandabump Thu 04-Oct-12 14:09:58

DS1 (9) - has no idea what he wants, which makes 2 of us confused

DS2 (7) - wants Skylanders Giants and assorted Skylanders paraphenalia, which he is getting
DS3 (due 15th Dec) - if he's appeared by then, I suspect he'll be happy with breast milk, a clean bottom and cuddles smile

notso Thu 04-Oct-12 14:13:15

DD 12 wants IPad/laptop but knows she has no chance so is settling for kindle touch and Hollister perfume.

DS1 8 don't know yet, probably Lego but he still has to finish the Death Star, he has hinted at PSP or Xbox but I am hmm

DS2 22 months too young to ask but have got him the ELC wooden post box he hogs likes to play with at toddlers and happyland. He will be getting a trike for his b'day two weeks before Christmas.

DS3 6 months a wooden activity cube and possibly tripp trapp highchair.

fuzzpig Thu 04-Oct-12 16:09:49

DS is 3 but has a big speech delay and has no concept of asking for presents. Not entirely sure yet but he's easy to buy for as he likes pretty much everything! One of his favourite words is "wowee" when he sees something new smile

DD is 5 and hasn't really asked for anything particular, she sees lots of girly things she likes on adverts, so we got her a barbie ultimate closet (ugh but she will love it)

They haven't asked for it and probably don't even know it exists, but they are getting a playmobil castle as their main present. DH and I can't wait to play with it

jenk1 Thu 04-Oct-12 17:39:39

DS (16) wants the new Man Utd Away shirt and clothes/trainers etc

DD(8) wants the lalaloopsy fun park and roller boots/moshi monster stuff

MegBusset Thu 04-Oct-12 19:32:39

DS1 (5) wants a monster book, some Top Trumps, a toy gun (sigh) and "a plant card". He will get them all, well I have interpreted "plant card" as a book about plants, and the gun will be the smallest, least offensive version I can find!

DS2 (3) will be happy with anything as long as it's EXACTLY the same as what DS1 has!

Sonotkylie Fri 05-Oct-12 22:09:34

DS (6) wants 1 cat, 2 chickens, 3 guinea pigs and a monkey.
Just no.
maybe the cat as we currently have mice trouble but 'Santa doesn't do livestock' ...

Ds (3) wants a Jessie doll ( got buzz and woody last Christmas) and a Lego aeroplane.

DesperatelySeekingSedatives Sat 06-Oct-12 09:33:51

DS is one and will be getting what he's given and (hopefully!) love it. This includes the happyland trainset (bought when it was £19 instead of 40), the elc rocket which was £15 when I got it back in July and a ride and push along Mickey Mouse car which was the free toy in the Argos 3for2 earlier this week.

DD aged 5 wants an ice cream maker. A proper one. That's it. I think I can stretch to that as they're about £30. She's also getting some Sylvanian Families including the otter family to add to her army, the canal barge and and the ice cream van (she is obsessed with ice cream!)

DeadQODy Sat 06-Oct-12 10:10:08

Older style galaxy note on contract (weirdly only £8 a month more than her current sim only contract)

Birthday week before too ....

iWILLdothis Sat 06-Oct-12 15:45:38

Dd (3yo) wants & is getting a bike.
Ds (almost 1) ummmmm..... Might get fresh playdough, extra duplo blocks and next size up vests& socks

laurenamium Sun 07-Oct-12 12:37:07

DD will be 2 and is getting a wooden play kitchen with wooden kitchen accessories from jojomamanbebe I love it and some of the add on accessories! It's her birthday the week before and she is getting a ride on push along tractor and trailer grin I love birthdays and Christmases!

IWantAnotherBaby Sun 07-Oct-12 12:55:02

DS (9) wants an iPod touch and will probably be getting it. He also wants Skylanders giants stuff and Spongebob Lego, which we'll get on behalf of grandparents (I do most of their Christmas shopping - a whole other thread...), and a remote control monster truck (maybe)

DD (4) also wants an iPod touch (less likely although quite seriously considering it as her cheapo-and-quite-crap MP3 player is one of her favourite things and she looks after it brilliantly) a baby born doll that does real wees (yes), Lego friends sets (yes from GPs), a rocking crib for a baby doll (yes from GPs), and clothes for her Corolle doll (yes - I'm in for a couple of happy months of evenings sewing these). She has a birthday just before Christmas as well, so she has an enormous list of wishes.

TaperJeanGirl Sun 07-Oct-12 13:21:54

Dd1 (7) wants an ipad, furby, lego, drumkit, a sword (real), a puppy (real)
Dd2 (5) wants an ipad, furby, hello kitty anything, stuff for her scooter
Ds (3) wants an ipad, anything batman/spiderman/diggers/wheels
Dd3 (1) would like a doll

The elder 3 will be getting an ipad to share, I have the evil furbys sitting hidden on a shelf, some lego, ds has a few superhero bits, baby dd has a cabbage patch kid and a barking puppy, she will also be getting a mini micro scooter with baby seat so she can join the older ones in scooter related injuries, other stuff I will just get as I go along/see things on offer, over my dead body will dd1 get a sword, drumkit, or puppy grin

BellaVita Sun 07-Oct-12 13:25:32

Ds1 (15) wants a bass guitar

Ds2 (13) wants a laptop to replace his old netbook

They both always get what they ask for

LilQueenie Sun 07-Oct-12 13:30:16

well DD is 15 months at the moment so probably be happy with a box but I may get the "bad parent for spoiling your child" award. So far we have a large amount of happyland stuff bought earlier in the sales, minnie mouse remote control car, crayola kits, duplo blocks, mickey camera, toaster toy, 2 massive ducks, some board books, jigsaws, sesame st toys and figures, sesame st microphone plus ernie doll to go with the interactive sesame st toys for her birthday earlier in the year. She will get tons from my mum too. I also want to get her a small trampoline and a few little bits and peices.

FreakoidOrganisoid Sun 07-Oct-12 13:40:38

DS (4) wants scalectrix and a henry hoover hmm

DD hasn't given me any suggestions yet but I know she loved her friend's lego friends stuff and lego is one of the few toys I don't regard as pointless house filling tat blush so she'll probably get some of that.

Weell DS is 11 and hasn't asked for anytng yet! Not doing letter to Santa till November apparently!

I don't think there will be anything big on it. He has most things. May get him tickets to an Arsenal game. He loves Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and got tickets to see him last Christmas. I have bought him some Tom Petty DVDs and a book. Also got him a cheap Wii game. His list will probably consist of non-age appropriate Playstation games which he won't be getting.

I can't justify any more Lego as we have tonnes!

And family will all ask for ideas for him too. Best get thinking!

letseatgrandma Sun 07-Oct-12 21:05:29

Furbies?? Are these the originals or have they released new and improved (and overpriced) versions!?

Coprolite Sun 07-Oct-12 21:07:03

Moshi monsters.

Mintyy Sun 07-Oct-12 21:07:19

My dc haven't asked for anything at all ... it is early October.

peanutMD Sun 07-Oct-12 21:30:06

DS is 6, he has asked for:

Nintendo 3ds XL - bought
Mario and sonic at the olympics - bought by MIL

Moshi monsters tin - bought by DB

TaperJeanGirl Sun 07-Oct-12 21:37:38

New, improved, and overpriced furbies, but, I got 3 on 3 for 2 deal in argos and got a tenner voucher for spending over £100, so at least I didnt pay full price (keep telling myself that!)

Waswondering Sun 07-Oct-12 21:42:40

No idea yet (but loving the idea of the young driver thing - one to file for future use, as I think ds would love that in 2/3 y time!)

letseatgrandma Mon 08-Oct-12 20:28:40

£65-I've just looked them up in Argos! I hope they cook the Christmas dinner for that price ;)

youonlysingwhenyourewinning Tue 09-Oct-12 23:46:05

dd1 - a tablet
dd2 - a tablet
dd3 - a furby

We will be trying our best to get them

SomebodySaveMe Wed 10-Oct-12 09:28:31

DSD (5) wants a lala loopsy mermaid and a coat for her mums house hmm
She's getting the mermaid, a big box of crafty bits I'm still putting together and a vtech laptop.

DS (3) wants the thing figure from fantastic 4 (thank you eBay). We have put together a massive box of superhero figures and costumes so his head may explode on Christmas morning!

DD (2) wants everything on adverts including car insurance! She's getting a new wooden kitchen if I have the money before the asda offer runs out.

MrsWolowitz Wed 10-Oct-12 09:34:16

DD1 a leappad ( she got a furby for her birthday last month and the DTs love it) hmm
They are now getting furbies too for Christmas.

This is the first Christmas in ten years that I havent worked for Early Learning Centre.

It's an eye opener that is for sure.

Having to worry about availability and paying full price shock grin

DS (who is 5 almost 6) want the lego goldmine thing, shall hopefully be buying it sometime next week.

DD (who is 2 almost 3) keeps changing her mind but keeps going back to the Cinderella doll and horse and carriage.

insanityscratching Wed 10-Oct-12 09:58:25

Dd 9 wants a 3DS XL she isn't having one because she has a ds lite a ds XL and a 3DS. She will be more than happy with whatever we get instead though I'm sure.

BeaLola Wed 10-Oct-12 10:08:57

DS has asked for "the Ben 10 watch thing that is flat up your arm & it fires things out of it " - he saw this on TV ? Any ideas what this is ???

Dd almost 10 but asd wants an iPad, a teacup chihauha (sp?) or a retired greyhound.

She may be getting a second hand iPad but has been told NOTHING else if she does.

I would love the retired greyhound but we have no garden sad

OhTheConfusion Wed 10-Oct-12 20:02:47

DS (10) has asked for an X box 360
DD (almost 8) has asked for a tablet
DD(13mths) hasn't asked for anything ;-)

DS will get the x box, DD will get her tablet and DD2 is getting a set of wooden building blocks and a 'first' pram.
