I am looking after my best mate's 3 year old "destructive" son on Thursday morning and need ideas to occupy him (and my own DS (age 4)) til lunchtime. By example, usually when I look after him, he makes beeline for DS' bedroom and watches a DVD (because its something he doesn't do at home) and I don't usually see him again until he's (a) hungry (b) thirsty or (c) he's upset DS! Said child will be highly excited Thursday as his daddy is part Dutch (or Swedish - can't remember which) and they celebrate Xmas on Xmas Eve, so his afternoon will be at grannies doing the Christmas thing.

I need something I can do at home with them both, without being too messy or too noisy to disturb my poor DD (8 mnths), who's not very well at the moment.

Thought about baking "something" but am not very good, so will need recipes and lists of ingredients too!!

Answers on a post-card please..............

those easy biscuits look great!

a catalogue (pref with toy pages) and a pair of safety scissors...lots of cutting out. You could also help glue them onto a sheet of paper.

make a big fort out of a big sheet. spread over table, and spread out via several chairs/other weights. Use 2 oe 3 sheets and have several "rooms". blanket for a carpet. bring in teddy bears and cushions and whatever else.

teddy bears picnic with teaset and toy food. or perhaps cut out pictures of food from above catalogue.
