lego is always a winner, both my ds and my nephew (both 9) love the rock monster type stuff..errr. power miners i think the range is. also lego bionicle.

nintendo characters in this house...mario, luigi, donkey kong etc..

spongebob.

also factual type stuff..horrible histories/science/geography.
guinnus book of records etc..

thank you - that gives me something to work with ! One is v. bright and one struggles a bit (and have just been adopted by friends so not much knowledge of what they're into although they've sadly never had much so would like to get htem something good !),

Chimchar - if I may pick your brains re power miners lego - do you think these two sets would work together on their own ? Sorry ! I have 2 girls aged almost 5 and 8 months so if you ever need any advice on pink plastic tat I'm happy to help

lol wheelybug. i have 2 ds and a dd...i am unfortunately well experienced in plastic tat of all colours, shapes and sizes!!!

the two sets you linked to will be great together...they can have a set each and ply individually, together with one vehicle each, or break them all up, and make a mutant mnachine with the both!

good choice i think!
