Mincepie, carrot for Rudolph, drink for Santa. The last has been different things, depending on what the DDs think is acceptable - milk, tea (in a flask coz Santa might be cold ) and last year, a malt whiskey. [happy DH emoticon]

We don't drink so Santa has to do with milk

Well, Dis, it probably helps line his stomach against all the whiskies/port.sherry he drinks at all the other houses

Drunk in charge of a sleigh, anyone??

Intoxicated reindeers too I bet.

Shame on him.

Ummm, we start with sprinkling 'magic' Christmas Powder outside (glitter with oats), which attracts Rudolph to the house, then...

Mince pie and port / whisky / etc for FC, and carrot and water for Rudolph. DD did have concerns one year about all the other reindeer, so we ended up leaving a bunch of carrots and bucket of water outside

All carefully left with crumbs / end of carrot leaves at the end, usually with a thank you note from FC, written in shaky handwriting (cos he's in a hurry!)

Like the idea of footsteps on the floor!

Mince pie, carrots for reindeer, and, because we are usually at my parents for christmas, lemonade for FC. This year We'll be at home and I'll be in charge, so he'll probably get something stronger

Reindeer food outside to attract them,a mince pie,a carrot for Rudolph & a tumbler of whiskey for Father Christmas.

I put some flour in a bag with some glitter, shake it & then sprinkle round the front door, then put DH's boots on top to make footprints (we dont have a chimney so FC uses a special key we bought from the local card shop)

Then just as ds is going to bed one of us will go outside & tinkle some bells,ds thinks its Father Christmas' sleigh.

Cannot wait for Christmas (manic excited Christmas emoticon)

Mince pies & sherry for Father Christmas
Milk & carrot for rudolf and other reindeers

Father Christmas can have alcohol, as he is not actually driving. The reindeers are.

DD tells me that this year we are leaving mince pie and chocolate (he has to do all the houses so needs 2 things), plus milk or beer - she wasn't sure.

Oh and reindeer food. (oats with glitter)

The reindeer food is genius. You can buy packets of it for £1 for various charities, I'd never seen it before.

I was convinced Father Christmas was real for far longer than I should have been because the carrot top was always left, nibbled in a very reindeerlike way.

Oats with glitter is easier and cheaper than special supermarket bags. DC can help make it maybe.

The idea of course is that the birds eat the oats on the ground before DC go out in the morning, so the oats have magically disappeared and the reindeer DID find the house okay!

Not sure what the glitter does, maybe it's just 'magic'?!

Mince Pie and Milk, we dont condone drink driving in our house. We also leave glitter Oats and a carrott for the Riendeer. In return Santa leaves some crumbs on the plate and a thank-you note and some foot prints on the carpet... messy sod.
